you introduce nutes when they are needed. just keep the soil moist.. dont over do it man.. its a plant.. seems like you are overthinking it.. but what is your set-up?
ok cause people say 2-3 weeks but i just want to add some stuff to help root growth. i started 12 and a bunch didnt have a good enough root system to support due to stretching. it took awhile for me to give them a good home, being stealthy. i also dont want to mist my sprouted seeds (in pellets) with some root stuff that might kill it since its so young. my set up is in my grow journal. thats where all the info is.

what about the little netting around the pellet, do those need to be taken off at any point? i think no, just wanting a confirmation.

negative. Leave them on.

i wait until there is about 8 or so little roots popping out of the sides.

and yes seeds need nothing but water until there a few inches tall and start the vegetative state (a couple of sets of fan leaves). You can add the stuff after. Its like messing up a child, really does damage early on, potential wise.

I am looking into investing into another grow room.. I Actually got a room that is 10'x10'x10' tall. Iam thinking of using it all. or maybe i will do 1/2 the roof for vege and the other one for flowering. Im kinda in a hang up as far as how many plant i will be able to grow at once. and how many light of what to use. I do have limited funds but im sure i can invest 2-4 thousand on this. My other concern is smell.. This isnd my first grow this is gonna be my 3rd harvest of 3tries. so i think thats pretty good. but i do want to upgrade now to a bigger operation. so does anyone have any ideas as for what my set up should be and how many i can grow in there?

Hi! I am truly hoping you can help me out with a couple of things, I'm lost!
1. I am really not sure what a ballast is, I have heard that its function is to control the output of wattage but do I have to have one?
I purchased a 250w HPs and the mogul base but it wont turn on! Is that because I need a ballast or am I missing something else?

2. After a couple months of beautiful veg growth I have been INVADED!! 1st the gnats after soap water, vacuuming out soil top two inches replacing new soil, using yellow strips and go gnats I still have the little buggers. Now I have spider mites so again I go with the soil (remove top 2 inches add treated go gnats soil) showering the plants and misting. Nothing seems to be helping! I really dont want to lose this crop! Please help!!

1.Yea it's absolutely necessary. You need the cap and ignitor too. Here's a kit with it all. http://www.prolighting.com/soush250q-
I was told by IAm5toned
A electrical master/guru that it is a good one and best price I found.
2. Neem oil folar spray or Malithion spelling? (I'd do both) follow directions correctly.

Thanks Daniel!
1.But heres the thing I saw that while googling but I dont know what to do with it! F**K! I feel so ridiculous!! Will it come with instructions on how to put it together? Other than the electrical plans I see on the site??
I really need to start flowering and this is driving me crazy!!
2. Neem oil was my next step! I was wondering can I buy esstenial oil and make it at home? I assume the folar spray is a diluted form?

Ok, well first of all don't feel ridiculous. It seems hard, but really it isn't. My A Medicinal Refridgerator
shows the 150W HPS I did w/ timer. I'll look for a link to the DIY I used, but it's a remote ballast from a 150W security light. When we had a FAQ I knew. Thanks admin. A 250W is the same (All HPS W's are too) Here's the basics. A heavy extension cord cut, male end to plug to wall. White is common, black is hot. Black connects to ballast stuff, White continues to cord to bulb. ballast stuff powers new black to bulb. This truly is the basics. But all it really needs is some wire nuts and a bit of help. I'll lead you answers if I can.:eyesmoke: Or point you to some good help.
Yea the Neem oil can be diluted with water then sprayed. Malithion is watered in, but it will kill those fungus gnats too. I have houseplants with them we fight. Clean everyone's world with a light bleaching too. All surfaces that you can. Good Luck.

you will hear different opinions from everyone you ask, but i recommend not using anythin tat says miracle gro on it. tats wut i startd wit and im having hella prblems wit my darlings. go to htgsupply.com n look through the menu on the left of the page. you will find everythin you need. from wut i have heard (n i have seen plenty of proof to back it up) fox farm ocean forest is the best soil medium to grow in. but if you can only get the miracle gro, mix bout 30% perlite/70% soil. n wait at least 5 weeks befor you feed. n when you do start feedn, start at around 1/4 of wut the package suggests n SLOWLY add more every third watering until you see leaf tips startn to burn, then step it down n stay there for a while
can i get foxfarm in the uk and do i need to add perlite to it? and what is the best all round mix such as 15-30-15 (flowering) any suggestions

Have my babies in a box with a plastic lid outside on a second story deck with no shade is this dangerous as far as too much heat? Should I have them inside next to a window?

Don't worry about where I have them they are in a no access area (private home, no stairs to deck and no neighbors).

New to growing and my babies are getting ready to germinate.

I'm broke and need lighting. Going to do cfl's for my first crop and wondering can I use cfl's from Lowe's/HomeDepot? Or do I need true 'grow' cfl's from a grow shop. Also, thinking about making my own cfl setup any tips of doing that? This part is really confusing me, should I be more concerned with watts or lumens? If lumens is 2,500 lumen per sq ft ok?

I have read and re-read and now I'm more confused than ever.
From my Guide:

CFL
100W Equiv. (23W CFL) Daylight (6500K) (VEG)
26W CFL Spiral Energy Saving Light Bulb - 2700K (Flowering)
You'll also want to go bigger than 23 watts, for bloom, or you won't get buds that are very dense. Go with at least 42 watts, and the 65-68 if you can.
