how did you connect the pump to your pvc? did you use a special grommet?

I got a eco plus 396 pump and I'm using 1/2" pvc tube and I can't figure out how to connect the two without tons of leakage...
at HD in plumbing supply get a 1/2" MIP adapter(S X MIP) basically slip to threads not oring but same threads as pump and will seal better than shoving a hose inbetween:weed:

Day 26 (12/12)

I had the fan blowing on the plants, the air hit this plant first, could it be because of that? if you look at the leaves closely on the plant on the right you will notice some discolor, i have yet to find out what this is.
Not that I am an expert, but I recently ran a grow in a Bubbleponic system similar to yours and during the first week of vegging, my circulating fan broke and I ended up putting an old box fan in the closet on low. The way the fan was angled it hit one plant more than the rest, this was only for a couple of weeks, but now at harvest time, that plants stem is 1/8th the size of the others and I'd be surprised if the cola yields anything worthwhile. I know the plants need a little wind to make them strong, but can't do much growing in a wind storm. All of my other plants have faired quite well so nutrients and general environment could not have been the cause, IMO it was the fan.

PS: Love the Brute unit, Kudos!

bingo, i actually didn't even think of this until i seen the connection at the hardware store. I was just going to do like the sleeve method which i knew, in my head, would cause too much leakage which in turn would mean less pressure for my misters. gotta love your hardware store

my problem is that the plant that got the most wind was too tall and some of the leaves looks weird, they were weak twisted and warped, i'll have to take a closer pic of what i mean. Anyways i topped that plant, but i knowingly did it wrong, if the plant suffers im not really worried. To take that plant out and call it a dud will give space and extra nute resources to my others, im thinking dearly of tossing that one out

this may or may not help. It sure helped me to have a visual, because the pics in my grow book either are illistrations or in white and green.

good luck, I do think that the roots might want to dry out, try an experiment by adding a timer to a couple, let them dry 15 min on the hour and see if they inprove, keep growin that's how ya learn.

i like the idea but why do you need sprayers on the middle and bottom of the pipes? are you going to go all the way with this setup or just use it for cloning, cause your roots will never get that long to need those sprayers, I just transplanted 2 WW seed to soil and they are looking nice, a few weeks behind you but it will be nice to see some other WW while i wait for mine to get bigger for cloning.

im using this unit to both clone and veg

but right noiw until i finish my current grow i'll be germing some seeds and seeing if i can start from seedlings in this system, i will clone later down the road

starting seedlings in the aero cloner shouldnt be to hard, I would use a 1in rockwool cube or something like that, i have used a rapid rooter in my aero cloner b4, but it will break down over time in the cloner, using a filter bag over your pump should help with that tho.

Day 32 (12/18)

So dissapointed, the freaking hps bulb doesn't come in until another week or so. The only other bulb i have that may work is a MH bulb that has more yellow in it than my sunmaster bulb. This is a grow brite bulb from high tech garden supply, people have had problems with them blowing out in the middle of the day, i can't have that, but at the same time my plants are so freakin tall it is ridiculous. my tallest one is 20", i topped that one so that it wouldn't grow as fast and the other could catch up.

On the other hand the plants look and smell great, ever since i added extra Mg and S the room has been smelling wonderful and i haven't even gone into flowering yet.

i did a water change yesterday, this time i added the following for week 5

@13 gals

3tsp/gal grow big 6-4-4 (regular, not hydroponic)

1tsp/gal Dyna-gro pro-tekt(silica) 0-0-3

8ml/gal hygrozyme

.75tsp/gal B'Cuzz 0-0-0.7

20ml Mag Amped (1% Mg, 4% S)

used regular tap water because i need the Ca it has in it, no longer using RO (until i start using dyna-gro nutes)

i wont be able to tell if this is too much or too little until day 33 or 34, but i think everything is ok due to that i let them heal from that superthrive issue on 2tsp/gal grow big. All i uped was the grow big and MagAmped, then added some safe B'cuzz to get better roots for flowering. attached some photos of the current grow and also my other project which will be fore the Brute Aero Cloner, hope you guys enjoy as much as i do....:weed:

Enjoying immensly !! Keep it up I'm right behind you takin notes thanks for posting +rep
Yea think it will go well in aeroclnr "offgrid" what ive found out is that both rockwool and rapidrooters are a serious no no. You must use neoprene collars I got some for my new aero cloner via ("StinkBud") recomendations check out his threads its f-n incredible ! Think its called "Harvest Every Two Weeks" or sum lik dat

yes im involved with that thread as well, his results are amazing.

Neoprene is the way to go, the reason why i had a sour start from the get go was because the plugs were too wet, i was getting roots, they just weren't growing like they were supposed to. In a aero ponic system you can run the msiters 24/7 if you want there is no way to over water. The thing about running 24/7 in any system is that the pump will heat up the water and that is bad, this is where a water chiller comes into play. im thinking about adding a second pump in my Brute aero and hooking up my water chiller and running it 24/7 from clones...just a thought for now:confused:

yea, i too am in on that thread good shet for sho, and the process of transplanting a seeding that small into the collar is a bit risky, thats why i recommended the 1in cube, if you let that sucker root bound in that 1in b4 putting it in the 2in net pot it will explode in roots so fast that the roots will in fact shield the medium. but you can defiantly try the seedling transplant if you want, what i know is that rapid rooter will break down, while the cube wouldnt , my mama plants came to me in plugs that i put in the cloner to veg b4 transplanting to a dwc. its just my 2cents anyway ya know

Day 35(12/21)

Nad dammit, out of the six plants four were female, now im left with two females, one huge one and one medium sized one.

Thjey were supposed to be feminized seeds but i guess not huh. One of the plants that were male just so happened to be in the same net pot with a female, so i had to chop the male down at the bottom of the stem. Before i did this i had no idea on how this would affect the root area, so far everything seems ok, i did all this about a week ago and here are the results for about a week

Man, sorry to hear about the "feminized seeds" being bogus. You might want to keep an eye on the roots from the chopped male; they might turn necrotic and you will probably need to pick them out, as much as possible. That's going to be a bitch.

im using hygrozyme, it is supposed to eat away dead roots, so far its doing an awesome job

by the way, can anyone tell me what the problem here in the attached pic is, i took clones from this mama and a few weeks later this is what i see. Is it just stress? im confused...

where did you order your seeds from or were you given them by someone you know? getting males out of feminized seeds is one of the most horrible experiences i could imagine

i don't know its weird, but its all good, i got a chance to practice with this batch and get the schematics down, i still have two great plants, and one is soo huge im thinking i'll get 3-5oz from it and the other probably 2-4oz, half a pound from two plants isn't bad to me

My next batch will be all female due to i am cloning my sour disel mother plant, so far i have 6 total cuttings that have nice roots, and 5 that are still working on it, once two weeks have gone by plus or minus a day or two (this saturday +/-) i will get rid of the ones that don't have any roots. two of the clones have 1" roots, the other have quater inch. I like sour disel better than white widow because of how it medicates and also how it looks during flowering, lush green foliage with frosty white crystals, like its christmas all over again. I'll be using a NFT system like stinkbuds, with a few changes if any. :weed:

Day 47 (01/02)

Still veggin, the plants look great, i did a water change yesterday and switched to CANNA nutes. Im now using Aqua Vega with Cannazyme and Rhizotonic. These nutes look and smell a whole lot better. My root Zone looks 100% better even tho i still have dead roots mixed up with live roots, The hygrozyme that i was using before did a great job on eating away the dead roots and making it available for the plants use, cannazyme is supposed to do the same thing. The water looks so good with the bone white roots floating in the boiling water, just wait till you see the pics:bigjoint:

My tallest of the two plants is now over 40" and the second is akmost three feet. I think this is the last week of veg, regardless if my bulb comes or not, i'll just use this MH bulb i got from HTG supply that has a resonable amount of yellow light (blooming). Im pretty sure i'll be running of vertical space half way into bloom, i'll have to do a lot of bending hopefullye verything works out, we'll see. I might just have to keep the room open to cold outside air so that i can have the light really close to the plant, reducing height as much as possible. I'll take some photos in a few hours to show the root zone and the overall current status of the grow.

As far as my clones go, i took some on 12/20, and today 01/02 almost two weeks later i have 10 out of 11 rooted. WOW....this was the first time i cloned ever, i was so scared to cut my lovely mother sour disel plant. However everything worked out just fine. I love sour disel, and the smell during flowering is awesome. The mother went into a little shock, started showing a def, but new solid green growth insinuates that it is repairing just fine, this morning i watered it with 2 drops per gallon super thrive and 3/4 tsp gal B'cuzz all @ 1 gal, the mother should get some R&R with that, in about two to three weeks i will probably leech the soil and pour in fresh nutes. I'm using Canna nutes on my clones, i will be using Canna from now on as to i see that it has everything that Cannabis needs to grow, foxfarm lacks too many vital nutrients such as sulfer and calcium. So far so good......pics soon

Day 48 (01/03)
Here are the pics, i actually did some pruning on the monster plant that was over 40", i made it so that it itself would have an even canpoe. My smaller plant should catch up to the monster plants height being that i didn't prune the small one at all, and all the pruning i did on the monster was on the top, so the tops should grow slow on the monster and regular on the smaller one. hopefully by the end of 2-3 weeks i will have a more even canpoe to where i can start a more reasonable flower period. So yeah, i decided to wait on flowering for another 2-3 weeks....without further or due, the pics
