Every CFL grower should just with every bulb for cree globes. That is the only thing they need to change...the rest is identical in approach/methods.

I have done par test on 9wcree globe(WW and CW) vs 26w cfl(WW and CW) and with the positions/mountings/reflectors I had, I could get the best numbers with the globe...and head to head hanging vertically bare with nothing the globe was equal. The fact is that the cree globes are putting out the same amount of light maybe slightly more even for 1/3 the energy. Plus the spectrum is arguably better from white led's than CFL/floros. And they have no heat. I never ran cfl other than cloning so I never had heat issues...but that is the problem I heat most from cfl growers.

Sorry to bombard, but my point is I really like you cfl setup and addition to the current run, it would be really really good with cree globes. Grow on!
Agreed, pricing/availability/deals are at the point where it's a no brainer, better/more usable light, virtually no heat compared to cfl's, more manageable in small enclosures...

approx 4 weeks from seed, looking nice and healthy, just super short (guess that is a good thing since I have a small cab)

What is the minimum that you can have that panel to your plants? I'm really thinking about getting the panel that you have but I have short lil box I made and was wondering of this panel would still work of if it would be two much, I wouldn't be growing anymore than two plants at once.

I have the light at about 12 inches above it and it's doing fine

Hi nvhak, no worries with these lights in small cabs, they produce little heat and you CAN get them close, you need to watch how close though or they'll bleach the buds, the reflectors on these lights really throw out a ton of light. Only comment I'd make is that if you're planning to run 2 plants, go for the "300W" panel, it puts out 125/200 actual wattage which is perfect for 2 plants. I have one (300W) running right now in a 2x2x4' tent and no heat issues, using passive exhaust and a small booster fan for intake. The 150W is good enough for one or two small plants, but if you veg them to more than a foot or so after stretch you'll have a tough time feeding them enough light to flower well...

So it wouldn't do well for two small plants still? Or if I threw In some CFLs into it too. Trying to keep costs cheap as possible, I'm growing only with CFLs right now and have only one plant u known what it is the seed was from a bag, and I have it in a bubbleponic system. But I got in some blue mystic autos last week and was gunna start one soon. Are LEDs ok for hyrdoponic systems sorry this is my first grow and I'm still new at this. Here's a pic of mine from last week it's 5 weeks old today from sprout ill post more of it soon! I want to keep it small so I'll probably need to LST it some more and I already topped it, I'll probably switch to 12/12 next week or so. Cuz I don't want it huge at the moment but I did just order a 4x2x4 tent should be getting that at the end of the week.

I have some cfl's in there also, for side lighting and keep temps up, since it is out in my garage.

I'm growing two plants, they both look almost exactly the same. (my super soil is a tiny bit rich and the other one has slight nute burn)

Ya I have mine in the garage too and I had to add another cfl to keep the temps up cuz it was 70 when I woke up, a lil cold but it'll get better once it starts gettin warmer outside and my new grow tent will help keep the temps good too. I'm curious how ur two girls do with the small LED panel during flowering how much longer are you gunna leave them in veg for?

Just from my own experience and doing a lot of reading, it's not that they wouldn't grow, they'll veg fine under a single 150W, as long as you don't let them get too big - the reason I say this is that the larger the plant (width, height), the more light you need to cover not only the top of canopy, but now you have to get light to the sides/bottom of the canopy as well, and you need enough red/far red light to get there in flowering. The smaller the panel, the fewer diodes, the smaller the foot print/spread and power to get the light they need during flowering to the buds. So it's not that they wouldn't flower but your might be disappointed in your yield imo. Yield and quality buds is complex balance of giving the plants everything they need (air, water, nutes, light) so if you skimp on any of them, don't expect to grow some of the big/dank bud you see some people posting here. There's no right or wrong way, you have to try things and hopefully learn as you go. You could try one plant under 1x 150W LED, or try two, keep them smaller, supplement them with your existing CFL's (or better yet, swap the CFL's for LED bulbs), lot's of ways to skin a cat as the old saying goes, but give the plants the light they need or suffer with smaller or disappointing quality yields.

I personally haven't done any aero/hydro grows with LED's but there are many people doing it right here in the LED forum. That's one of my 2014 side projects, among many - lol

No ya that makes total sense it would suck to buy the smaller and find out later that it sucks for two plants might as well spend the extra 60$ and get the bigger panel it talking about the one that is 179.99$? I'm getting a 4x2x4 so the bigger one would be perfect. Do you use any other grow light beside the panel?

is this the one your talking about?

Oh nice dude ya I only have one at the moment, what kind is urs again? I'm gunna germinate one of the blue mystics autos soon and I'll probably put it in the bubbleponic system too I'll see how much bigger the one I currently have going is next week or the following week than flip over to 12/12 and see what it is, I just wanna find out what is it now but I'll wait at least another week just to be safe incase it is and hope to get a decent yield off my first grow

That's the 300w of my model, but I also saw on ebay a VIPAR 300w cheaper, around 149 if you search enough.
