so the new LED makes the grow box super hot :( I had to turn off all the CFL's and it's still too hot

I have a 4inch intake and a 4inch outake 120mm fans

Trying to think of ideas.... maybe getting 200mm fans instead
Not sure what fans you're referring to but if they're simply that, air circulation fans, could be time to move from fans to a more efficient and powerful inline fan, exhaust will be the most effective way to reduce your temps so on the outake. Can't stress enough how important the environment/temp control is, its' what took my first couple of indoor grows from what could have been "good" yields to barely ok...

I have simple computer fans, heat was never a issue until this new light.

I don't have much room to put inline type fans in :(

I might just get two more fans and add one more to the bottom intake and one to the top with new holes

Hey OGP, I just had to ditch my Vipar 300A because of the temps in my tent. My tent kept shooting up over 86F and the only thing I could do is turn the A300 off. I have plenty of circulation so to me my only options were CO2 or to kill the Vipar and replace it with 2 x Hans 80 watters. CO2 wasn't going to happen for me so I went with the Hans panel and now it's 76-78 degrees with lights on in a tent full of lights and plus I'm running fans lower than before, which is great in my book. So I guess ya see what I'm getting at is that's the problem with budget panels, they cost you so much more in the long run. Those mystery diodes, (I'm pretty sure Bridgelux doesn't make 5 watt diodes and definitely not red ones), get warm and then heat up those cases, which really don't work to well in the cooling department to begin with. 5 watt HO diodes always run hot from what I've experienced, which is why I gave them up a while ago.Throwing fans in is just jacking up the cost of your grow and not truly solving the problem here. Have you thought about adding CO2? Maybe a thermostat that shuts off the new panel at 86F? I don't know your grow space, but it could help manage the heat without resorting to exhausting air because at that point you migth as well switch to CHM :).

Anyway I hope you figure out your heat issues. Best of Luck!

I'm not that bad temp wise, I just need to get it cooled down a little bit.

I have a plan, just need some time off work to get it completed

OK, so I did a little remodel, now my high temps are around 86 instead of 95!

I got some higher cfm fans coming Monday. They are twice the cfm as what I have now.

I don't have any plants in the upper cab yet, until I get heat fixed. Luckily I have the lower cab for my seedlings that runs a perfect 73-77

"Like" for your heat issues, good to hear. Not sure on autos cause I've never grown one but 5 days and my seeds are typically 1-2" and shedding their shell, they usually sprout legs within 48-72 hours...

I've germed tons and tons of seeds never had a issue and it's always like 48-72 hours too, never done autos, it's weird.

Yeah maybe someone with auto experience can chime in. Have had the odd seed take up to 5 days but it's rare. Only time I had that issue was with some really old seeds my son had, weren't stored properly and were about 5-6 years old, they took a long time, some took 10 days before popping and weren't even worth growing out, perhaps it has something to do with that.

ok, so here's my armoire flower/veg 500w led chamber with cfl plugins if needed all done, remodeled temps average 82-84 high now and low 72, and the fans have a speed controller.

Here it is with the 5 purple kush about 3-4 weeks old

here is my lower seedling cab with the 150w led with all my starts for veggies, outdoor grows

I'm all set, and will start a new journal for when the auto's pop
