hey man, just check if any light is getting into the buckets.... if not you should be fine..... but ANY and i mean ANY light WILL cause algae growth, as for painting the buckets, you can paint them white, just put on several layer, it dosen't matter how pretty they look, just as long as they get the job done..... and if algae grow, don't say i didn't warn ya! HOWEVER, good luck with this grow, i'll be watching this one too!

kk, I can pick up some black paint tomorrow at lowes. Ill paint them, I dont mind.

The only thing is the black going to effect the temp? I wouldint think? Ill have a fan blowing in the box 24/7 so heat shouldint be an issue.

if you have proper ventilation, it shouldnt be a problem, but as said above, you can white, but make sure you do alot of layers

Please reconsider going for longer than 60 days
This is my plant that was 12/12 cycle from seedlings
It is not 65 days old 0% red hairs Not ripe AT ALL (pictures)
It will amost be a waste if you harvested sometthing this early and
your current plant isnt going to be much more mature than this one
maybe not as mature.. (pictures)
I would reconsider doing this for your new Nirvana seeds,
you wont have enough time for seeds to mature (like you said
you would give someone seeds) And the hairs will be white, with
very immature trics... your yield will be like 20% of possible yield
if you chop them down at day 60
PLEASE let them grow for more than 60 days
I want you to get something smokeable and not waste your time!!!
Here is my 12/12 seedling at day 65 and NOT NEAR harvest yet!!!!

My first bagseed grow isint even at day 40 yet and it has more bud than that one. and Ill be useing big bloom nutes. I think Ill be fine. Ill just see when day 60 gets here. Ill take a pic of the bagseed that I have right now, It has alrieady started forming buds and they fluffing up. Ill get a pic of her in here in just a min.

I think your plant is just really under developed, not saying anything bad,just saying that mine and growing faster so that I wil be able to harvest at day 60. No it wont be fully mature and ready to harvest. But itll have bud. like I said before. This isint anything more than just an experiment, just playing around and trying to get a new style of growing established : )

you need more light, you got a journal? i dont wanna hijacc DaC's thread, im sure his are fine.

you are growing bagseed right? cause there are some bad genetics there, all stretched,long lengthy branches, thats probably another factor why your aren't done or at least close to being done

No i actually know that nothings wronge... first off i have 8 CFL's so i have enough light for her all 100W eqq
And she stretched because thats rite when she started actually growing lots of hairs and started budding and wennt through the stretching phase (started on 12/12)
shes also not as thick because i havent topped her so the other branches along the stem havent been able to catch up to the top like dac's current plant...

yeah she had really tight node spacing than it just stretched out a lot, the resin is Ridiculous though...
i can see a leaf just covered with it and i touch it than touch my camera to take pics and my fingers stuck to the camera!!!
shes also got restricted roots because i cant fit another gallon pot in there lol
Once i harvest my other 2 she will be in there all alone other than my tiny kush plant :)
8 cfls on one plant will do wonders

I have a large roll of duct tape. I should be able to cover the buckets with it. Im not to sure what to do : /

As for the 60 day thing. My current plant is only 30ish days old and already is forming buds. Not saying anything is wrong with yours, just mine is maturing faster. No biggy. Also White Rhino is a Indica strain and is breed to mature in 7-9 weeks. so she should be just fine for 60 days : )

As for the light issue. I dont know what Im going to do. I dont have the funds to buy paint.I have an old set of sheets that are black. I could double them up and tape to the buckets. Should be fine right?

Ill rig it up and take a pic for yall later, also Ill take a pic of my current plant, shes doing great!

Yeah anything you do to make it light proof will work... maybe do a layer or 2 of the duck tape and than you can wrap it in the sheets... whatever you do will be fine

yea man i would duct tape the shit outa them, i had my system sitting in a blacc trash bag, worked fine, so you can find stuff around the house, like CGB said, dosnt have to be pretty as long as it works

when they say 7-9 weeks to mature they mean after they show signs of budding not when the seed pops(even though they are on 12/12), all of my 12/12 grows didn't show signs for 3 weeks. and the earlyest i ever harvested a plant under 12/12 was a blue berry and i pollinated it with ak-47 and 90% of the seeds were ripe. just want you to get the best results possable since you are doing something nice

Im just doing this as an experiment. I may get to day 60 and decide to go 30 more days. Not sure yet.

I went out and bought some spray paint tonight, its valspar black spray paint for plastic surfaces : )

should work fine. Me and DLC will go out and paint them tomorrow. No biggy.

I just got through checking the seeds. One of them looks like its about to curl up. But all of the seeds have been moving so that means their rooting : )


Anyway! Just wanted to update!

alright just a quick update. No sprouts just yet. But I can look down in the holes of the RW and see that they are all starting to root. so hopefully germination will be a sucess : )
