Not everywhere is the US genius, over here disability, unemployment, etc is called Social Welfare so you can stfu with your stupid semantics argument, the woman in that article left work because welfare was slightly worth more that she was earning as a waitress. So now the people left grinding are paying for her to walk on beaches and wake up late because she chose to quit? Her boyfriend is at the same thing.

Well then the Welfare State model some people here applaud is a proven fallacy. It promotes a phenomenon know as "Welfare Dependency" or is referred to as a "poverty trap". It doesn't help people at all, it makes them subservient and lazy.

You don't even have to believe me, it's not hypothetical, it's proven and I only gave one example out of thousands in a country with only 400,000 recipients. That's what you call "rampant".

Yeah, youre really gonna try say that to a guy who has known a multitude of people who have purposely had children to guarantee a cheque weekly and basically free housing (in private housing areas)? Don't bullshit me with your propaganda, socialism is stealing from some to pay the lazy so they vote for you.

EDIT: As I said before, I support optional social insurance to help people who have paid in but fall upon bad times, but "welfare entitlement" in countries that have it has become generational man. This is fact, you can't dispute it.

i am very entitled to food stamps based on my earnings, but i don't use them. must be because i am white and don't have an entitlement mentality.

according to you, black people have an entitlement mentality. those are your words.

I'm not saying they are lazy but there definitely seems to be a different regard to welfare between races. I hang out with my white friends and some will ashamedly admit to being on welfare or unemployment to which the others may understand but are not approving. I hang out with my Korean friends and it will NEVER EVER come up as they would never accept handouts from the government - you go to family, and then friends, and then starve if need be. My Hispanic friends will accept WIC for the most part but shy away from anything else. By black friends sit around bragging about how much they get and eagerly share information on how to receive more benefits. They aren't lazy about it - many spend hours and hours researching how to get more from the government. Just a very different mentality.

I cannot explain to you this entitlement mentality - makes no sense to me. You would be surprised at how many of my friends have questioned me on why I don't receive benefits - it's happened multiple times but from only one race of friends... Just an honest observation. Again hard to deny statistically.
