The older I get the more time I spend mid stream, rod under my arm, pinchie box in hand just looking and listening.
The sound of the stream, the hot sun on my neck, the cold as fuck water on my legs.
Looking at a monster bug flying by, a robin comes out of no where and snags the bug out of mid air. Take another pinchie. Match that bug with a size 12 Irresistible Stimulator, orange. Toss the fly on the side. toss it to the spot where I know that fat brown is.

Repeat until it is too dark to fish then walk back to the truck where the people are drinking beer and talking shit.

I am with you man!
My favorite evening walk with a little bud. The sound of the river and eagles everywhere, such a sweet little river and no one in my town bothers fishing it. We have 5 other rivers within about a 10 mile stretch and they get flooded with various runs of salmon over the summer.
In Alaska 99% of people are meat fishing 10' apart at the spots that have thousands of fish. combat snagging , fly rods with 1/2 oz of split shot hahaa , man they can have it. Ill stick to my little river just me, the eagles, and bears.

I will definitely be getting back to Alaska this summer.

My list of best places to get high is someplace I can fish without worrying about getting jumped by a bear.

Just have to watch where you step. Really they are just where the food is, when the river is full of fish they are busy and don't care what you are doing. Like any neighborhood, you respect the bad ass and you are usually good.
I will say, when I loose track of time, the trail home can be a tad eery..... If you look close the rod is in the entrance. Of course the trail was made by the real owners long before anyone thought to wet a line there.

I like to smoke in my truck and listen to music.

Anywhere with a nice view is good in my book. Somewhere away from people, on a lake, or my personal favorite, right here at home by the fireplace.

Along the same lines, I've always liked to smoke at concerts. It serves two functions. #1 you'll be the coolest guy in the vicinity, and #2, everyone will kiss your ass to get it passed their way. I've been on the floor at some.great shows and you're packed in like sheep. Bust out a J and suddenly everyone gives you space and kinda protects you from the pushing and shoving. Nothing better than a little personal space when you're at a concert. I usually bring 2 or 3 packs of cigarettes, with the back row removed and replaced with joints (10-15 total). Any good show I'm going to I do this. Luckily since its home grown, it doesn't hit my wallet too hard either! Haha. I don't smoke much, so at some concerts it just light it up and pass it without even hitting it. Have not once had a problem with security. Sometimes if I'm paranoid, I'll wear a hoodie with a large hood and put a flask, and my joint filled packs of cigarettes in the hood of my hoodie. They never pat down a hood! (pro tip right there!)

Garage. Its quiet and peaceful

At the end of my street there is a set of stairs into to the ocean with a sandbar and Martha's Vinyard for view. Sitting on those stairs have been my spot for the past few years. I used to go to a local state park that had really cool granite hills everywhere. Outside is always my preference in the woods or at the water.

Nothing for me beats an L ride but there are a couple neat parks that are waterfront if you go late enough you can always enjoy a good smoke.

Out in nature is the best while sitting in a patch of grass, sitting against a tree while watching the clouds float by...

Probably the big sinkhole in my town. It's rather relaxing down there...when it's quiet. Or the forests around the place.
