What's the average yield per watt?

What's the average yield per watt for an HPS, Standard LED and a Quantum LED?

With HID, the desired weight is 1g/watt. This is a let your plant grow naturally number. If you use additional growing techniques like scrog, topping LST or supercropping you can pull alot more out of a plant. As far as I can tell, to make LED viable you have to use additional growing techniques.

Caveat: I'm an HID grower because of various reasons and even on my learning grows, I pulled .75g/watt without using growing techniques to their fullest effect.

Led isnt really all that different from HID in yield per area, but if you work out a good design where you dont lose light too walls and hhanging height you can light your space with so many less watts, 25-30w / squarefoot. It isnt that hard to grow 50g/squarefoot, this is why led will shine on g/w.
Currently we veg 12 m2/130 squarefeet with around 700w.
In flower we have approx 25-30w/square foot and do around 1.9 g/w on 9-10week strains.

We get about 2 pounds from 2x240w drivers spread out over a 1x1.6m spacee.

Thats a 6 year old video of blurple lights which describes very well a hps vrs blurple but not really says anything re modern leds. Try having a loook and grandmasterr levels led conversion. increase yield while reduce draw and better control over climate. Caveat: if you rely on the heating effect of HID then you will have to have a plan to replace that heat

Admittedly, I have never used LED and when I started my growing LED was in its infancy.

Come late fall when I'm ready to flower, I'm actually counting on the heat from my HPS lights and the fall cold temperature swing for my lights out time to bring out the colours in my genetics.

Could I do that with LED?

As with everything it depends on your situation. I have a room in my basement that is toasty with the leds I have and the amount of air that I exhaust. If I exhausted more my temperature goes down. Exhausting a lot of air when it is hot or cold outside means I am heating or cooling the makeup air. When it is comfortable outside (relatively) I do not add or subtract heat and I do not pay for the cost of doing so. If it costs less heating all season with the lights to have a temperature in the fall then you are ahead.

Once again you are quoting a blurple light from 8 years ago. My room is just as warm running my LED as it was running my HPS.
 
Can we see pics of these amazing LED claims and genetics that are currently hot in the market... love the claims about LED...
 
I work the CMH and quantum board combo as I told before and they work very nice together. Quantum gives a lot of calyx and CMH makes the buds hard as rock. I run at 1000watt the CMH and 480watt the quantums in a 4x6 canopy. If you can control the temps you grow a jungle.

Those genetics are far from what i consider hot in the market.. Not convicing to be honest ..

When grows like the Jungle Boyz .. etc start using these LEDs it will be more convincing.. all the growers that claim next level are 90+% tent home growers.. where are the warehouses full of these lights pumping out rock hard nugs of all the trendy shit....

Ive heard insane numbers... i want them to be true... ill throw away 20 lights and go buy new ones asap... just please be more convincing
