What to Add to Topsoil?

I have earthgro topsoil, it seems like great soil, nice and black kinda compact though I added about 20-30% perlite to it and it still seems bout twice as dense as potting soil despite having what looks like 50% being perlite(maybe just because its light it has rose to the top after a couple waterings)I also plan to use 2 tbsp of dolomite lime and water crystals per gallon of mix.Should I add something else to help with aeration? Perhaps some peat moss? Or would they be ok with just the perlite? Before I get my holes ready I wanted to get some others experience(notice i said experience not opinion because those can often be wrong) and yes I did search for the answer and found surprisingly nothing relating to using topsoil in holes outdoors. I'm not looking for someone to tell me to use x potting soil either as this is the best i have come across in my area and my budget does not allow for the ridiculous shipping it would cost to order online, just looking for amendments. I will be using gauno and FF for my nutes when need too btw.

yeah find some form of compost. its pretty dense but it'll help feed your plants also. I picked up 9- 40lb bags of composted manure and mushroom compost for under $4.00 a bag.
check the link in my signature out it may help with ideas.

I agree. Topsoil sucks.

I use Cow Compost as my base then I add Peat Moss, Mushroom Compost, Worm Castings, Vermiculite, Pearlite, Dolemite Lime, Azomite, M. Fungus, Panzy Mate, and Organic Sugar.
Then I drench it in my special Compost Tea which is a standard tea of Evergreen Cow Compost & Uncle Jims Worm Castings(PA), Molassess, and Well Water. I add sodium peroxide, azomite and Super Thrive to the tea when I am about to apply.

Add more lime than 2 tea spoons bro, try about 2 cups, you can get 25kg for $6 and add 2 cups of multipurpose fert, I got bag 20kg for $30 the other day. Also a bale of mulch $12 will do about 20 holes. There you go a cheap but effective way to grow outdoor. Go easy on crystals if soil is already wet.
