i've used that EM1 in the past too just in my tomato garden as a soil additive. seemed like the plants liked it.

isn't it basically the same thing as Mammoth P except way cheaper?

looks like it, i hadn't heard of it until just now! waaaaaaaaaaaay cheaper though. can you culture mammoth p into new bottles of mammoth p like when using EM1?

I don't think so, I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure they're not the same. I was gonna say they're very different, but how can I? They're microbes at the end of the day and we still don't know enough about them. BUT, they're not the same.

not sure about reculturing. i dont' know much about the mammoth p other than "soil innoculant" which is EM1

last time i was in my local hydro shop, owner said this mammoth p was the only thing in the store that he couldn't live without. i'm thinking, oh shit, here comes the sales pitch. said it was $75 a liter. i busted out laughing. said the only thing i spend that much on for a liter better be a 20 year old scotch.

I've seen a couple of impartial side by side grows and the results were impressive, if it was available here, I'd be giving it a go. I think you can apply for free samples in the US, not certain about that, but think I've read of it recently

i run a sterile hydro set up so would be a waste for me. i thought i read somewhere that they used to offer freebies but stopped.

where did you see the side by side? here on RIU?

nope, just a surfactant. wetting agent basically. i'm not sure it's organic. i'll have to look at my bottle. i'll post in a few what's in it.

I do the same thing with LAB, works a charm, I add in about an inch of fresh aloe meat/juice into that

2T em1 + 2T agricultural molasses + 1L water. mix. bottle in 1 liter plastic bottle, seal cap tighly. ferment for one week. burp cap once a few days in while fermenting. application rates are 1:100 by volume and include equal volume molasses to feed microbes until application. it can be used until harvest day and i have done this. i did skip molasses on that last day spraying though
