Your just activating the EM1 with molasses eh? The LAB I used is already activated with molasses so very similar. This is the first round Ive used it so good to know it works well

yessirr, you can make 33-34 Liters of activated EM with a Liter of EM1. You cant extend the extended bottles though. You can however use them to make FPE, FFE, FAA, bokashi, etc. Id make LABS but i drink the activated EM since i can be confident in the specific strains of bacteria i'm culturing. I also make kombucha tea. I really like growing bacteria haha so ill have to get on this LABS dealio for fun.... I keep saying that ..

Once or twice a week os beneficial for plant health but once every other week or less even will control PM.

so basically compost teas ye? you foliar with I'm assuming as well yes? if so whats your dilution rate?

and if your already in the battle with p.m. still good to use?

I dont even make teas anymore, I just mix and foliar

1/2 Teaspoon LAB + water (whatever will fit in the spray bottle) + 1 inch of aloe meat to wet (or a drop of dish soap).

Have also controlled with milk/water on squash...at least the surface shit, just needs a ph change

Not compost tea for foliar. There are microbial inoculates like EM1, LABS, kombucha, and many more DIY or commercial products. They're exclusively probiotic bacteria and food for the bacteria suspended in water. They have no nutritional value.

The problem with compost tea is the existence of pathogens. They're fine being poured into the soil but not foliar.

As you can see by vnsmkr's recipe for diluting his homemade LABS, you don't need much of the bacteria.

My EM1 activating is 2T Em1, 2T agricultural molasses, 1 L nonchlorinated water, mix, bottle in a plastic water bottle sealed for one week. Burp the bottle around day 3 or 4 to release the co2 buildup. You can turn a bottle of EM1 into 30 some more bottles of activated AM or as I and the intern training farm call it, "EMe".

Dilute your EMe into water by using 2tsp EMe and 2tsp agricultural molasses in one liter water. Spray THIS on your plants, buds, dogs, cats, garden, compost, drink it, waste it, sing to it, take it on dates. A handheld spray bottle is nice for a few plants but I like a 3 gal sprayer.

I also add around a cup of cold coffee to the liter to add nitrogen. The acidity on the leaves is good but watch your chlorophyll cuz that'll turn lime leaves dark green over night lol. You can get creative with the amendments, I certainly live for experimenting. Moral was, add probiotics to your garden to fight the pathogens.

EMe and LABS are both precursors to bokashi, which is a solid, high NPK, granular probiotic source. You use the liquid cultures to ferment solids and bloom large white molds. Bokashi is a compost activator and soil innoculant.

Yeah also keep in mind my LAB is already activated so already has the molasses in it, reason I used that small of a measurement. I have been using a spray bottle as I have all my plants in a small area, but I will grab a 3 gallon sprayer when I get a bit of cash, thats a must I think, fucking clogging up spray bottle has pissed me off for the last time

I have both, the handheld one gets clogged up and is a biznitch to clean, the bigger on has a washable filter screen that I clean every so often. Makes a world of difference. I love spraying my veggie garden too. With neem, coffee, FPE, etc.

I never used coffee in that way, will give that one a go for sure. All our grounds go in the compost piles. Neem is something I would never leave out and FPE too, need to make some

i have some beautiful plants for just my 2nd run but pm is a little over whelming....

i was trying to run VPD.. but was inconsistent with temperature flux when not around... the humidity was consistently too high. I tried to run 75-80 degrees f with r/h running around the same.

Yea it'll treat and prevent PM.
EM1 is only used to make EMe. EMe is used for everything else.

I have been going between this thread and one thats a guide by dr. Who (title search pm posted by dr. Who)
@Dr. Who has a recipe there for aact that can work like the em1 for treatment and prevention of pm he recommends kill pm finish grow start over and clean everything wich seems like sound advice. I will clean and use the em1 as i think it will most efficiently handle the problem. I have been spraying with potassium bicarbonate mixed with water a drop of soap a gob of cactus and a drop of neem. It burns the pistils and lasts for about 5 6 to 8 days then pm returns it leaves residue i don't want to smoke and changes smell. I would use aact but its more work and materials then em1 and ihearall mentioned pathogens. Or i would use horsetail grass but that is a strong medicine plant that can contain nicotine.
