That cloning thing seems to me to be sorta hit and miss.
I've tried several methods with mixed results. It kinda seems that you have to find the method that works well for you.
@curious2garden will get the ball rolling for ya.
Good Luck!!
Ya sterile is best method imo.
I'm not holding my breath on the clones. Tomorrow will be 21 days on the first batch and they're pretty crispy now lol. We'll see what if the second batch make it. I ordered some more seeds just in case. I really liked @Dr.Amber Trichome chemdawg journal so I thought I'd give that a try.

Heya

Nice looking plants, and kudos on the great looking neat grow space.

Please could you explain your watering setup ... and your comment above ?

I can't quite work it out from the photos.
Thanks. My buckets are 8 gallons but I can only get around five gallons of water in them due to the depth of the net pots. My watering process is pretty simple. I have a trash can that I mix all my nutrients in. It's on wheels so I can move it around the room. In flower I don't do reservoir changes, I just let it drink the bucket almost dry then pump more in.

The plants are doing good this week. It's weird, you'd swear I have three different strains in here lol. The plant on the right is so stretchy with really long spaces between each node. It looks like it's done stretching now.

The lid on the middle plant is starting to push in. That line behind the net pot is supposed to be level. IMG_0016.jpeg

very nice!

Another week done. The middle plant has taken off and I've already tucked a couple limbs. The plant on the left is just starting to poke through and the one on the left needed a little boost to get to the net. I've bumped them up to 800ppm this week. I was kinda surprised they're eating so heavy this early. I figure another three weeks or so then I'll flip them into flower.

I have 2 bag seeds down that I'm hoping I get to use to try out my scrogs I made for this grow....but it's been a bumpy start cause of light leaks into my resevoirs. :( either way, they r trying to bounce back, so fingers crossed!
Happy growing!

Bummer. Are you using black buckets and either sterile or beneficials?

Like nobody's watching! I gave them their last regalia treatment on the 13th. @manfredo said he doesn't go past one week of flower. I've also been defoliating and I can see right down into the plant now.

Temp is 80° and my humidity is 52%

Yea black buckets. The issue was I switched to hydroton and didn't realize the amount of light leaks through the hydroton, so I've covered the top of the hydroton now w vermiculite.
I also use hydroguard.

Use some panda film if you have it....works great. But the do make stuff if you need to buy it for that.

I had no idea that you could get light leaks through your hydroton. Are you using really small net pots?
Oh yeah.....it depends on how high you run your water in your pot compared to the level of hydroton. You can also just put some more hydroton on there if you can fit it.

Naw, they r regular 5 gal dwc bucket netpots. I didn't think I could either, but I stood over my buckets looking down and could see the water beneath in some spots. I'm still fighting root rot bc of it.

I would have to agree, those certainly do look like three different strains. Crazy pheno varieties.
The good news is they all look great!

Weekly update. I think I'm into week five now.

The buds on the plant on the left are a lot bigger than the other two. I'm kinda kicking myself for not cloning it. I had some issues with my ph pen giving odd readings. Turns out it was measuring ph a lot higher than it actually was. I think I was able to catch it before it caused any real problems.

I found four pollen sacks on the stretchy plant on the right. Hopefully I didn't miss many.

Weekly update. Day 40 since flipping to 12/12.

I have to laugh, I only cloned one of the plants because of its properties in veg. Now that I'm in flower the other two plants are leaps and bounds better. :dunce: Next time.

The middle plant is starting to bend the lid and has pushed it down a couple inches into the bucket. That's supposed to be flat like the next pic.

This is from the middle plant. The buds aren't stacking and really haven't changed much in the past week. :S

The other two are progressing nicely.

What’s up? How’s the garden looking?
Hi Amber,

Sorry for not updating. It looks like I'm going to wrap this grow up next weekend. I think I'm going to be satisfied with the results, and I'm finally going to get something out of this room.

The buds on the plant on the left formed really nicely... big and chunky. The middle plant I'm not really impressed with. The buds are the tiniest I've ever grown. The one on the right are not as big as the first plant but it's a lot stretchier and there's more so I think it will be a pretty good result.

Here's a pic of the bud from the middle plant. It's going to suck to trim! I'm doing a dry trim this time so if it's not worth the effort I'll just turn it into edibles.

This will be my last grow doing a scrog in DWC. I'm making the move to coco/drip irrigation for the next grow. I have HSO Bubba's Gift seeds on deck for the next run.

Hey LG
Glad to hear that your growth chamber will be bearing you fruit shortly.
Odd that the center plants buds are so much smaller.
Just curious, will your new grow method be drain to waist? And also, will you scrog these plants, or just LST them?
I've never grown in coco, but have read on the topic some. There seems to be a number of ways of growing with it. Hope it works out well for you.
Cheers,

Hi Willie

I don't get that either. It hasn't changed much in the past couple weeks, just got more red and yellow leaves. I've found a few mature seeds sticking out of the buds on the stretchy plant. I knew it hermied, there's just no way to find them all in a scrog. oh well, not the end of the world.

I have big plans but it's going to take some time to achieve. I've applied for my medical permit to allow me grow 50 plants. Until that's approved I'm stuck with a maximum of four plants.

Once approved I'm going to run 12 regular plants and flower them quickly looking for a good female that will work well in a SOG grow. I figure I have enough room and lighting to run up to 24 plants in a SOG. I purchased a blumat 12 plant irrigation system that I'll expand once I've been approved.

I don't want to do scrog again. It's a great way to utilize all your space, but it's also a colossal pain in the ass to manage and being bent over like that for long periods of time hurts my back. My hope is to get to a point where it's mostly hands off other than topping up a reservoir.
