Hey LG,
I had do a search to find your journal, you can't hide from me.
(Yes, I am aware that opening with that made me sound like some sort of creepy stalker! :D)
So happy that things are off to a great start. Everything looks top notch!
Looking forward to following along.
Cheers,
WillieP

lol Thanks Willie. Happy new year, sorry I haven't been updating regularly.

Things are moving along nicely. I have two very different phenotypes here. The one in the center is growing like mad with nice internode spacing and it's easy to train. The other two are very bushy with really tight node spacing, not really ideal for scrogging. Hopefully they'll stretch out a little more during flower. They're getting 800ppm of nutrients now and seem to be happy with it.

I gave them a very heavy defoliation on Saturday,

Thanks Dusty! I've got nothing but spare time lately. It's a little bit dirty after the defoliation. The overspray on the back wall is from the regalia treatments. So far no signs of PM. I've finally been able to start doing some tucking on the two outside plants. I don't think they're going to be close to filling the screen.

I'm thinking I should probably start flower soon or the middle one will outgrow its space.

I would let the screens get nearly full then flip, even if the middle one takes over the other nets slightly it’s all good full net is what I aim for. Unless they stretch like crazy then I’d flip early. Your killing it

This is my first time with this strain so I have no idea how much it will stretch. Previously I've aimed for 75-80% full before I flip. I'll post up more pics next week and see if it makes sense to go 12/12, I'm not in a rush.

Looking great. What breeder you getting that from or is it clones?
Thanks! They're seed junky, I plan on making clones for the next run.

Thanks @Justlove growing

Another week done. I gave them a heavy defoliation last Thursday. By Saturday you couldn't even tell I had done anything. I'm trying my best to avoid getting the larf layer that I've gotten in previous grows. The two on the ends really don't like scrogging and it's a struggle to not break the stems. I'm only going to clone the large on in the center, it would take a few months to fill the screen out with the other two.

@DustyDuke what do you think? Should I start flowering now?

I would leave it a little while although that middle plant could end up being a monster with the stretch u could flip now to have better canopy management looks super nice though well done

Great looking room and a lovely grow so far! Subbed. Also, since you're using HLG Quantum boards, if you want to check your light levels you could get by with a decent lux meter because HLG has a really handy conversion table on their website. Allows you to pick the exact board and spectrum you have and converts lux readings to ppfd.

My buddy grows multiple strains at a time and he always has to lift wedding cake up on buckets. I did a purple sunset, dosi do and a weeding cake outdoor this fall and the wedding cake never seemed to stretch. She was bushy as hell though and super stoney

I flipped my lights to 12/12 last night.

Why not let the middle one grow into the other territory? Will it kill everything to let it grow? Use your light.....sea of green works because you use everything.....all of it....I'd fill it out.
I'm a little concerned about the middle one going out of control if I let it go much longer and I don't have a lot of headroom. They're 8 gallon reservoirs with 5 gallons of water. The middle one is empty in four days and it's only going to get worse once flowering starts. The other two still have a few inches of water remaining after a week.

I’d flip it they will double so should fill nicely or give it until the weekend but no more
It would be nice if the little ones doubled and the middle one just stretched a bit. I don't think that's going to be the case tho.

Only my middle light is HLG the two on the outside are DIY lights from China. It's about 720 actual watts for 18 sqf or 40 watts per sqf.

believe it or not these are all the same strain lol. I always have wild differences between plants from seed. Next grow I should have a better time filling everything out completely since I'll be starting with clones.

Glad to have stumbled across this thread
Beautifully done. And I love scrog
I have the same issue right now with my tent, 4 plants, 1 is a beast, 2 are good, and one is a runt with slow secondary growth.
It makes it hard to run an effecient tent when that happens.
Fortunately for me, my 4 plants are under the same net so I can let the larger ones encroach on the smaller ones space to help even things out.
I am looking forward to taking clones of the beast and running that phenotype as all 4 plants next run

I didn't realize that your lights are different. It would be interesting to see 3 of the same clone in there.

The middle one is a HLG 300 that I bought in 2018. The other two are these https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/240w-Lm301b-Board-Kits-Led-Grow_62111529844.html?spm=a2700.galleryofferlist.normal_offer.d_title.761e74d6854Ajq&s=p The use the same 240w driver as the HLG.

I'll have to dig up my barney's farm LSD grow. I had one plant that was over six feet tall and rest were around three to four feet. I've only done seeds so far so I'm looking forward to using clones.

Saves on acouple weeks of of veg too

One thing I really do like about scrog is it helps with this issue for sure.
If I didn't have my net, I probably would have that same issue with one being 6' tall and another 3'
I'm sure there will still be a big difference after flower stretch, I am only training through the first few days
Should be flipping thursday

I was just sayng from my experience ( which isn’t much) wedding cake doesn’t seem to stretch like other strains. I’m sure those ladies are going to turn out great either way.
