Water Cure Vs. Air Cure

Off topic for a second cuz I see people sayin just vape a nug if u need a early try. Wat is the best vape on the market. Lookin to invest in one
I use the iolite vaporizer to taste & experience any premature/uncured nugs. Within about four minutes I'm getting real hits as if I packed cured weed.

Speaking of water-curing...I'm water curing some shake right now, for a tester :) Let's see how it goes....

I dont see how any self respecting grower could ever just toss his/her buds in a bucket of water after months of hard work.

"Are you out of your fucking mind?!" *throws fresh nugs into bucket* "You really are out of your fucking mind!"

There's a reason HighTimes doesnt have pictures of water-cured nugs on the cover.

hey, I will say this and be done with it.

I smoke weed to get high. I don't care about the taste or weight but what I do care about is my health which is why I vaporize. Now, why do I vaporize AND water cure? I water cure because I have seen the pictures of how within 4 hours, the water looks nasty. Now, if you want to smoke buds that have bag appeal then by all means air cure but I could give two shits about bag appeal since I grow my own bud. I will just stick to my water cured buds which are more potent and cleaner for obvious reasons.

obviously, I sell my non water cured buds to everyone because I make more money because the weight is heavier. The heavier weight is to be expected from air cured buds because it still has those nasties that water cured weed doesn't. so if I did sell my water cured bud, I would be losing profit!

I remember someone on here saying water curing is comparable to distilling alcohol. I agree with that :).

but hey, don't take my word for it.View attachment 1367985

I water cured some of my first crop (from bagseed). The bud got darker, had less of a narcotic effect when vaporized (either because it was cleaner or less potent not sure), and definitely had a different taste compared to what was air cured.

Narcotic effects of mj are associated with when you harvested te plant. For example, if you harvest the plant when you see a lot of amber thichromes. What does the it taste like?

I've never really been able to taste marijuana like a lot of people claim to, there was just an obvious difference in the taste of the water cured vapor vs the air cured. I would say the air cured vapor was more of a dry pine/basil (possibly because I dried them all too quickly) and the water cure vapor felt thicker with different flavor (can't figure out what it tastes like if anything). My first grow is still all that I have now, my problem at the time was I didn't want to risk getting mold at all so I dried them too quickly (in 2-3 days) tarnishing the harvest flavor and smell.

I'm gonna try it with at least one decent nugget. The Spouse turned his nose up at the idea, but if he believed he could go out with our cigarette-smoking pals, burn one, and come back in high, he'd be on that like white on rice. (In this state you can't smoke [anything] inside buildings.) I'm psyched. And 1 nugget, if it gets trashed, oh well... It's the angel's share.

Weird, there is no way it should have gotten slimey unless that water was contaminated... Did you dry it before you put it in the water?

From what I understand with water curing if you put it in the fridge it could take the "ice hash" effect and freeze the trichs which will then fall off the buds...

I have a plant coming down in a few days that got beat up by bugs and was considering water curing also, but I'm still skeptical...

Well if they're buggy, then water curing would be the only viable option, right? We've had problems this time, it's our first indoor grow. But it was mainly nute deficiency. Bud mold and bugs were a BITCH out in the backyard this summer.

Bumping this up because I was looking for any new posts on water curing. New grower, about 3 weeks away from my fourth harvest. I'm by no means a connoisseur of anything, especially growing and curing weed, but I'm gonna throw this in anyway.

I've only grown bagseed (that's a whole new topic, probably), and I only finish one female at a time after they show sex. Legal implications for more than that are too risky, and I'm a high school teacher with two kids of my own.:dunce:
Still, growing my own is a whole hell of a lot safer than arranging a pickup once or twice a month.

Smell is a huge concern for me, and everything I've harvested so far STINKS. I nearly panicked the first time I chopped and trimmed. I couldn't believe how strong the smell was. Believe it or not, there's a large population of stoners out there who have never been exposed to anything better than homegrown schwag. I'm one of 'em. I mean, sure, sometimes you get better stuff than others but mostly it's all brickweed that can be rated poor, poorer, poorest that was grown on someone's back forty within a hundred miles of home.

Anyway, now that you've read all that.............

It doesn't smell when it's drying and it doesn't smell when I'm vaping or even getting a good bong rip, I no longer have to worry about accidentally buying weed from one of my students, and the herb I've got now is infinitely better than what I had before. I'm happy.......
:eyesmoke:

It' probably not for everybody, but I love it. It takes all the hassle out of getting my smoke and smoking my smoke.

:peace:

WATER CURE. WHAT A JOKE ON WHO EVER DOES TRY IT. I'm pissed right now 'cause I read all these good comments about water cure and did it. It made my weed, smell, taste, feel, and LOOK LIKE SHIT! The tast wasn't nothing like bud! Please, if anyone is thinking of doing this, just do 1 nug. ONE!! So you can learn that air dry, and jar cure is the only way to go with out ruining a bag of bud. This thread right here was in part of all the people that said it's "SMOOTH". Whatever, my air dryed bud is just ass smooth and taste like cronic (yes, a great thing. you'll learn how much you love and miss the tast of weed when you taste water turd, I mean cured marijuana) also I have some premature bud plucked without flushing and it's WAY beter than the turd lookin water cured bud I got. I live in the mountains too, and have great water up here. I was retarded and did a couple OZs and I wish I could warn the world. I did it the way every one says to do it. 7 days, 4 times the water as bud, new water everyday, BULLSHIT! it's the biggest waste of weed. I like the taste of weed (LOVE IT!) I love the smell, the way it looks, everything... just as long as you keep it out of water.
Thanks for the heads-up pal. I put my last dollar into my grow room and I don't want to take any chances with a single bud at harvest or cure. I saw one guy really beating you over the head for your post but I appreciate your candid honesty. It doesn't really matter if you are right or wrong as long as you tell the truth as you see it. Then it's up to the reader to make his own choice. Thanxalot man!!!

lol... where should I begin...

1st... perhaps I shall start at the point where you say "what a joke".. there is no joke about it. Do you remember why people water cure in the first place? Need I remind you?

2nd, you can try to make air dried bud as smooth as water cured bud but my vaporizer definitely knows the difference and so do my friends.

3rd, why did you try a few oz's? Ever heard about trying a little first? oh wait... you said you was retarded... go figure...

4th, If you loved the taste and smell of the weed, why did you water cure it?... Surely you read the part about water curing gets RID of the smell and the taste? look at number 1 and go look it up :)

Lol its funny to hear you say this cause I've seen video of Cervantes taking freshly cut plants then soaking them in a large tub of water/peroxide solution to wash off powdery mildew on the plants. But also from what I've read in other places and from what I've heard the ppl that say they don't like water curing its cause ur doing it wrong. From what I've read and my own attempts, u only soak ur buds for 3 days in water that is around 50-70 degrees(change water daily), then hang for one week(approx) or till dried to preference.

It dries pretty quickly. Usually within days under 75 degree temps. pop a fan on and that cuts the time down.

I'm completely confused on how people hate on watercuring. If your purpose is to get the pm off the buds or make the buds smoother... watercuring is the way to go. People may say that they can grow smooth bud and I believe them. I have grown smooth bud. Roll it up and smoke the bud after air cured its all good... Pop it in the vape and its rough. Water cure for a few days and then air dry it and then try it in the vape. Smooth as hell...

Now I don't recommend doing this to some og kush or a plant that you love the flavor of... Mines is og kush and I love the taste of it so im air drying that all day long. My lungs hate my for it cuz its kinda rough in the vape but I love the taste soooooooo much.

When you see that water change colors.. you know its doing it's job.

tried the water cure on part of my last harvest..shared both water and air with friends..the water cure was a total hit..just put a full autoflower harvest of 4.65oz into water just because the water cure was so much easier better..non smoker sat in room while being smoked and could not smell marijuana..the taste is different..can't say bad or good but i don't like the taste or smell of marijuana..the pain reducing and high affect last a very long time..i highly recommend it

Very Interesting! I want to try to water cure! I love smoooooth smoke....... I read somewhere that you should leave the Bud in water for Exactly 7 days! No stirring and simply changing the water every day...
But how long do you air dry after water cure?
