Water Cure Vs. Air Cure

WATER CURE. WHAT A JOKE ON WHO EVER DOES TRY IT. I'm pissed right now 'cause I read all these good comments about water cure and did it. It made my weed, smell, taste, feel, and LOOK LIKE SHIT! The tast wasn't nothing like bud! Please, if anyone is thinking of doing this, just do 1 nug. ONE!! So you can learn that air dry, and jar cure is the only way to go with out ruining a bag of bud. This thread right here was in part of all the people that said it's "SMOOTH". Whatever, my air dryed bud is just ass smooth and taste like cronic (yes, a great thing. you'll learn how much you love and miss the tast of weed when you taste water turd, I mean cured marijuana) also I have some premature bud plucked without flushing and it's WAY beter than the turd lookin water cured bud I got. I live in the mountains too, and have great water up here. I was retarded and did a couple OZs and I wish I could warn the world. I did it the way every one says to do it. 7 days, 4 times the water as bud, new water everyday, BULLSHIT! it's the biggest waste of weed. I like the taste of weed (LOVE IT!) I love the smell, the way it looks, everything... just as long as you keep it out of water.

Wow rookie, I think your name says it all. Funny it works for a lot of other people, but not you. Says something about your skills. Just because you messed up somewhere, does not mean there's an error in the system. Just the user. And for the record, it can smell like shit, taste like shit whatever. If it gets you high, it's done it's job. You sound like one of those gits that likes weed that looks fancy and smells fancy so you can impress your friends.:sleep:

I water cured about an ounce a few years ago. It was okay, nothing to write home to mom about. I certainly don't do it anymore if that means anything to anyone. It smoked pretty well and got me high as fuck. It did it's job while I waited for the rest of the bud to cure. How you dry the bud is still of mucho importance after water curing.

Many people rush the next part and put it in a food dehydrator and try to dry it in a couple of hours. The bud I did that with came out like shit. The bud that I dried by putting it in the oven on "warm" for 3 hours and then hung up to dry like regular buds (yes, took another few days to dry) came out pretty okay.

The bag appeal is completely diminished, the bud looks and smells terrible. It certainly looks like something went terribly wrong, but the smoke is smooth and doesn't have much flavor. You do indeed get high.

I guess I stopped doing this because I figured out that vapin' uncured bud works better than water curing in a pinch.

No matter how sick a water cure is a good air cure is going to be better. End of story, sure you might get to smoke it, and it might be slightly more potent by weight MAYBE but I like to taste my weed.

Water cure ::thumbsdown::

i wonder what you guys are doing differently,lol, i water cure 25% of some harvests and its worked great for me, only downside i have with it is the loss of taste and the buds odor is weaker than air cured bud.

water curing is a waste of time. if you're desperate to taste the harvest, put some pop corn on a pc monitor for 12 hours.

water curing leaves ugly buds with little smell/flavor if any. potency is diminished compared to properly dried buds, yield is lower, and that excellent kind bud smell is gone.

do yourselves a favor and DON'T WATER CURE!!!!!!

water curing has its advantages...

i had to spray some shit on my buds that i didn't really want to smoke, and my pump failed and killed my huge plant 7 weeks into flower and i though it was a loss, TILL i read about water curing. and right now im smoking my dead plant :) when i did my water curing i just filled a 5 gallon bucket and had a drain tube at the bottom. and i could see the water filtering out the chlorophyll over the 7 days i cured.

Super fast drying 24 hours with a fan blowing on them

smokes smooth
slightly reduced bad appeal
reduced bud smell
reduced smoke smell

Great Bud! :joint::joint::joint::joint:

Its funny the people that are like "I don't know what you are talking about the bud is fine water cured" and the people saying "OMG DON'T DO IT" both admit to the same things?

Loss of taste and smell.

I like to taste what I am smoking. If I didn't want to taste it I would put it in butter and guess how quick that can be whipped up?

i just canned my water cure harvest.

just thought i would share some picture of how it worked for me.

keep in mind i water cured so i could flush off all the chemicals(due to spider mites) and...
the plant was dead when i water cured, b.c. of my failed water pump.

so water curing was my only option

Alright boys and girls, I have had enough wondering about this water curing! I tried it myself with a few buds couple days ago. I soaked them in water for 3 days and then dried them. I was pretty impressed with how smooth the smoke was but the taste wasn't as strong. I liked it though, cleaner for my char-coaled lungs I guess. Vaporizer is cool but has no taste, water cure is cool. Try it for yourselves with a bud or 2. Happy smoking.

just wondering- how many times did you change the water?

I tried it a few months back, and will never do it again. I kept it in there for almost 8 days, changed the water every day, and the smoke turned out terrible. It still got me high, but the taste was really shitty. I didn't notice any increase in potency either, and preferred the air dried smoke 1000 to 1. So, I turned it into bubble hash, because my buddies didn't want it either.lol

From reading the back and forth I gotta think there is very little advantage to water curing. My ganga is usually potent enough to where I don't need to put it into water. If I gotta fast dry someing to smoke I just chop fresh buds into little pieces set it on a plate and you can usually smoke it the next day. If your buds are quality it will taste good even if you speed dry them. Just my opinion.

so I am reading about the water cure method and I am curious to SEE the difference between air cured bud in the finished product. According to my readings water cure compromises on the after weight of the cured bud..... however its is stated that the bud is tastier and more potent and takes less time to finish.. So I would like to know you guys opinion and if you have any pics of finished product of water cured buds....

There used to be a sub cat. in the FAQ section on the main page that told about water curing. The idea was to keep the bud totally submerged for about 7-10 days , but no longer. Idea being to replace water on daily basis until the drainage -runoff was basically clear. I have forgotten the rest but feel fairly assured the mods will fix the problem in FAQ since this may be a sticky thread. I do remember that the general opinion was improved taste and potency , but about the same weight loss as previously mentioned of about 25%. Hope this helped. I now am also curious of the rest of the process now that I may havera decent harvest some day.:sleep::fire:
