I think any step in the right direction is a step. Yes it's not a perfect start, but like someone says, we'll wait forever for that. So let 'em put some limits on to start with. Once they see that the entire of civilization as we know it isn't going to collapse from all the stoners once its 'legal', the the job places wont become crazy hippy parties and that car's won't be piling up like pancakes....then it will be much easier to expand it. Most of the folks I know would rather smoke then drink, and all of them are voting yes. A start is a start... A tiny foot in the door. And it's just scare tactics to say it will change things for the med folks.
I find it disheartening that folks who smoke for recreational or relaxation purposes would vote no on this first chance to get it started. A law can always be changed, but for goodness sakes.. the economic and legal ramifications for positive change should be grabbed whole hog! Yes it may not be what we want. but then again.. it IS a starting point.
I am 3rd generation 'water brother' (as my uncle called those of us that used cannabis instead of alcohol) . My grandma made brownies in the 70's for her arthritis, my dad was very successful lockheed engineer, as was my uncle and I've had a very good run myself. I'm very glad that I only use cannabis and don't drink. The drinkers in the family are all dead, but the potheads are still alive, kicking and living happy lives and professionally successful. I see no reason to vote no.
So I, and all my family and friends, are voting a emphatic YES!
