Hoot!

I bet you'll enjoy it. I know I would. :)

Ahh, yeah.. They are going to need a while longer before they'll be clonable.
But the way mine are branching, I figure you'll have plenty of cuts to choose from!

Hopefully its good in my cab.

Tomorrow will be 8 weeks of 12/12. I'm not sure if I should switch to led for the last couple of days.will be lowering the nutes amount in order to flush. All my current clones are still tiny tiny though :/

Better to go by trich color... probably too late for this time but i got my 40x jeweler's loupe with an LED light built in for illumination for < $10 online

Pics?

Well I was reading a thread last night. Guy had a pic whose trics looked ready at 4 weeks but pistols were still white and extended. Since I'm looking for pain relief, letting them go long wont be a problem

Usually (at least for the plants I've had) the pistils go red and 'ready' looking LONG before trichomes go amber... milky maybe, but amber no...

LOL was gonna ask how many days but you just said 8 weeks... yeah 56 days for a strain this sativa i'm guessing you got 1-2 more weeks. It definitely looks like my #1 apollo plant is going to be a 70 day finish.

Sigh, I popped it cause the info I originally read said indica. After starting them I realized how little is known on the background of the strain. I got the bb next if I can get the clones to grow

As long as that's all it is I'll be alright. LED coming soon :) quite happy about that.

Some reason it doesn't seem like my rooted clones are actually growing.

Can they be up potted during flower or should they be in the final size container when you start flowering?

Mine took a while to take off as well... part of that was because I only gave them minimal teas. As soon as I started giving them full nutes they grew massively. Mine were all a bit stunted due to being put in too heavy of soil and had a bit of nute lock but they all overcame that once the roots stretched out.

Your plants should be in their final pots at the start of flower. Transplant = stress = we don't want stress in flower. Obviously if you screwed up and you got a really rootbound plant in flower, it's better to transplant than leave it really rootbound but other than that not supposed to transplant in flower. It's usually not an issue unless you fail to plan since roots tend not to grow much after the stretch.

It's best to put them in their final pots well before flower if you're going with a real big pot. I've been putting mine in their final pots about a week+ before flower, giving them a big watering during the transplant with superthrive and wait til they're almost dry usually they don't need to be watered for again for over a week creates huge root system going into flower. By the end of stretch you'll need to water every other day.

Thanks. They haven't gone into flower yet. The only reason I asked is just the extra water and nutes used to water a larger container that only has tiny roots in it.

They've grown some roots I think, but the top side looks like no change yet so waiting to see. Really wanting to be able to put them in flower cab as soon as I chop the roms. Two of them are from a single blueberry plant and I want to sex it. If it's male I'm not sure how to get it's pollen without dusting everything again. I don't have a second flower cab to run it out in.

"I'm so excited, I just can't hide it" something like that.

Got my led in. damn that was quick shipping. Guess it should be for something like $80. anyways, it's beautiful and much heavier than expected

Ledstar Iris-80
80 3w leds
It's along this lines of the new penetrator series with the extra lenses.

I don't remember anything in the description about the thing having switches to be able to run 2 or 4 lights but that's cool, not complaining about it. More pics to come tonight when I replace my hps with it when it's time for lights on.

I'll respond to your post on HC's thread here just to keep my info together and from cluttering up his thread more than I already have.

Two grows you should look at using leds -
This one is nearly done I believe, uses a 500w blackstar
https://www.rollitup.org/newbie-central/505968-first-grow-blackstar-500-32x32x60.html

And then there is Senseimilla which pops into my thread here. He's had prior grow experience with hid lights and this time traded out his hid for leds a couple of weeks in. He went all out with 5 240w blackstar flowering and one 240w? veg light. He has one of my romulan clones in there. He can probably tell you what he thinks as a comparison between hps and led better than me. I'm nearly done with my first full grow and had my issues with heat and all so I won't be able to give fair comparison.

What kind of led did you order. The HTG Supply store has a comparison grow with a 90w vs a 250 hps and a set of t5's and the LED were coming in dead last. When i asked an employee what he thought about them his response was " We sell 'em for the hype, but hps, mh, and t5's are how you get great bud indoors". i'll be paying close attention to your grow, as most things ive seen are negative.
Ok, so I ordered the LEDStar Iris-80 out of China. Including shipping I paid slightly less I believe for a 240w model than the new blackstar chrome 180w model. I had to wait roughly 15 days before it shipped but got it within 4 days I think, including the weekend. The blackstar chrome, the new penetrator series, and the new htg agromax all seem to be built around the same setup with circular sets of leds in extra lenses.

I briefly looked through htgsupplies website to find the comparison grow info for more info to go off of. Didn't see it but I'll start with what info you posted.

First, I do not expect a 90w to compare to a 250w light. The old hype saying 90w was equivalent to 400w hps or whatever got busted quick and gave leds a bad name. I have no idea how many watts they ran on the t5's for comparison.

Second issue is that leds are rarely pulling the power that they are advertised at. Often times they are advertised as the collective wattage of the leds, yet run lower current than max, making them pull less watts than advertised. Take the 240w lights. They have 80 3w leds in them which if ran at full power would be 240w. Instead they are ran at 2 or 2.5 watts making them 160-200w. Making that 90w ufo a maximum of 75w at best if it's a 3w chip.

I say comparing lights of different value watts isn't a fair conclusion. In a true scientific experiment that is called too many variables. In some ways there's already too many variables if the wattage is the same. Different hps bulbs put out slightly different spectrums. Different leds use different wavelengths in different amounts. Even the save wavelength from the same led manufacturer will have different ratings, they call them bins. When an led (actual diodes) are made there are slight fluctuations from one to the other. They get tested for quality and labeled into different bins. I learned all about this when studying to build a home made light.

Anyways I think I'm ranting too much.

What I expect is that this led will do at least as well as a 200w hps. I'm running my 400w hps at 50% right now, so 200w. This light should be around 200w. I'm expecting less heat though which has already ruined the first batch and has caused some damage with the second batch. So if the heat is down enough not to burn leaves and buds then it will probably win for my personal situation. It may do a little better than that but I wouldn't put it up against a properly rigged 400w hps in a properly cooled room

Sadly I won't be able to give comparisons because I've only done one full grow and it went horribly wrong between me deciding to seed and the plants getting horribly burned.

I think your blue cheese x lush might just be the next ones popped. I'm really needing a daytime happy pain relieving smoke. Does that fit the bill or any of yours, or they all going to knock me in the dirt? Maybe just a daytime pain relieving, I think the c99xhaze that I have in veg should be a daytime happy smoke if they're anything like Dizzle's pineapple c99

And not putting you down or anything, just explaining why I think the htgsupply comparison is bunk. I've gone led in hopes to solve or at least help my heat issue. I have fluorescent ballasts but they get crazy hot too

I am sure it will veg as well as the HID... flowering? dunno but i've never flowered with that little wattage either :)

Don't forget to save room for my next batch of cuttings :) Gotta take cuts probably this weekend after they've rooted into their new homes.

Have you flowered with 200w hps? If it flowers without burning then it's a success to me. Its around same wattage as I currently run on my hps.

If things go well I want a smaller one on my clone side. Speaking of which I need to remove two bulbs in that side.

I looked at those grows, i do believe you will be able to veg fine. The comparison grow was inside the HTG store, its not documented on the website. Like i said, i will be watching.
