vac seal in jar

been wondering about vac sealing in a jar for long term storage
im thinking of using my vac purge and place a jar inside with cap screwed on but loose so the lid inside has some play up and down then vac it. it should pull the lid up and suck the air out of the jar then when releasing the pressure the lid should technically slap down and seal the contents under vacuum. thoughts?
ive vac sealed weed in bags and froze it to keep for long term storage but it gets all smooshed together like brick weed after sometime. ive never done this in a jar under full vacuum. good idea? bad idea? am i too stoned?

I vac seal and freeze but the trick is to first put the product in a plastic freezer bag. Manually suck out as much air as you can And then put in the vac bag and seal. Whatever air remains in the first bag will keep the product from being squeezed into a brick under vacuum.

Trick is.....not to vac guys. You can seal, then do whatever you like. I like to put the un-vac'd bags in a black 5gal bucket with a screw top lid.

ya im trying to avoid putting into bags and just vac sealing in a jar. im not interested in personal views on if its necessary or not im trying to see of anyone else has uses this method before and what they thought of it. i would be putting the jar under full vacuum not sucking air out of a bag or in a vac sealer. im talking real deal vac purger for bho. full vacuum -29.9hg

sometimes people just like to impose their will regardless of what the op is about. im talking long term storage options and preservation of terpenes. ive done some research about diff ways of storage and how vacuum actuallys helps terpene levels increase so just trying it out to see. no need for personal views on whether someone does or doesnt do it or if i need to or not. i have pounds of weed in jars and bags and buckets. im trying something out.

We should watch his video about it :) I'm sure that in the future this will be all dialed in. It's nice to see this type of thing being thought of.

I don't know about weed since I never buy but I know canned wine has come a very long way.

Only vid someone linked me to was "One guy one jar".........but that's much different.....

I remember seeing an add for it in the cans. I think it's a good idea, no light, no o2. And doesn't get crushed.

It should. Oxygen is a major player in cannabinoid degradation. I kept some extract under argon (same principle; different inert gas) for 10 years and it was still good under a thin layer of brittle “varnish”. In a tighter container I imagine it would not even have varnished.

Since extract is more air-sensitive than intact trichomes, I figure that weed would do well long-term under nitrogen or other inert gas.
