Hey Project23, Hey Boulderheads,

Glad to have you guy's interest! Well Boulderheads I guess the underlying "objective" remains your choice. Mine, is to fill a SCROG. It is also to produce as many internodes (distance between is controlled by genetics and lighting) as I can during that early LST process. I do try to control the internodes spacing to fit the spaces of the screen. I do that by adjusting the distance between the plant and the lights. Let me know what you want to do with those plants and we will get ya fixed up! ;-)

Project23 Glad to have you on board! Yeah it’s hard not to fall in love with Alaska after a good fishing adventure here .
I do hope you find the place you are dreaming about. Beware Alaska is also one of those places where once you buy a piece of land, and build a house, you never want to call another place home!
Growing in Alaska is GREAT! Depending on where you are. As I am sure you are aware of the states size (about 2/3 the size of the rest of the United States) and its weather patterns are just as vast and diverse. The diversity in weather patterns year to year makes for judging your growing season a bit tricky, but once you’re in, it’s BIG PLANTS like you have never seen! Most of Alaska however, tends to get cold in the fall faster than the plants can finish or even trigger to flower. The key is being able to take full grown plants indoor to finish flower or, stage the light cycle outdoors during ideal summer conditions on a mature plant. Then there is always the GREAT choice of Auto flowering strains! They do finish outdoors here without a problem! I am doing an Auto grow this year that I will be reporting on in this thread. If you’re interested, stay tuned and sees what happens! :bigjoint:

Thanks for all the wonderful comments :!:

Speaking of Bears:

I will be placing a digital game tracking camera on a tree that faces the outdoor garden. Anything that moves in front of the motion sensor will be photographed. After the camera takes a picture, I will be able to access the image from my home PC. It should be really neat. I hope to enjoy it with you all!

P.S. Any good bears that visit the garden are subject to fall bear hunting! 8)

Here ya go folks; I took a few of the new little vegging room with the little girls in there. For those who are following the LST part of this journal, I have included random shots of the plants showing different angles where things have been tweaked and twisted. Note that there are fan leaves removed from the lower areas as to allow light to the small lower branches. These will be used as clones just prior to flowering. Enjoy!

P.S. I just enjoyed a chillum of what my friend calls “Scrambled Eggs & Cheese”. He took ALL of his bag seed buds and made hash, he also just finished a plant with the strain name CHEESE. He mixes the hash with the cheese, and BANG!
Scrambled Eggs & Cheese.
DAMN GOOD!

Woodsman,.. your grow is looking incredible.

I might have to shrink my grow next time. Plus I might start traveling for work and may be gone a couple or three days every week, so smaller the better.

You should definately grow some Jacks Cleaner. It's from TGA seeds, and developed by Subcool, who in my opinion is one of the best breeders out there. I'm planning on growing it next myself. I usually like to do what you're doing though, and get several flavors going at once.

This should give you some motivation to try JC in your next grow.

The more you read subcool, the more respect you'll get for him as a breeder.

Here's a Jack Herrer that I'm going to be pickin' in a couple of weeks. It's in the heritage of Jacks Cleaner.

Woodsman, great thread, and your youngsters look very green and full of life!!

I think I have a better understanding why you want so much internodal growth. I went to visit my girlies today and see why tight nodes don't make for training very well. I lifted my fluoros to about 24 inches above the tops yesterday and they are already starting to reach towards that light. If I am correct what you have done with your scrog is allow the plant to throw out as many branches as possible allowed them to start stretching and then start training them down before they go under the screen?

I know that the Rhino has Indica tendencies and as this is the first time dealing with these genetics I am a little unfamilar with the strain.

Seeing as the object is to fill the screen mostly before flowering I think I will be forced to use 3 plants rather than 6. I am just remembering back to how much more growth took place the last time I flowered. The three other girls will be heading outside in a matter of days, and I will continue to try and make this Scrog happen.

Thanks again for all of the pics!! Makes much more sense being able to see the training in progress.

Hey Sid,

Thanks for the encouragement!
The link was wonderful too, thank you!

Jacks Cleaner it is. Ill be getting a clone soon and will update on it soon as things are set in stone.

Ill let you guys know what strains are available by clone for the next run. Maybe I can get you guys to pick a few for me...?

Your Jacks looks like a budcicle! Let us know!:weed:

Epiphiny!!!

Was thinking it would be neat to make a scrog in the shape of something. I bet a star would be easy. Maybe a leaf? That would be wild! I think I am going to do it. For Shits and giggles....!

Yes I am quite blissfully medicated...:)

"I plopped my three biggest girlies outside today with the others. Now I have 3 left. I am still planning on the scrog and was thinking about what you said in making the scrog into a design. Very clever my friend very clever. Anyway....I am trying to stretch these babys as much as I can, but they stalled slightly due to overwatering. No worries tho root base is now established and looking to take off. They are 8 inches tall. Should I start the LST process now or wait till the side branches start growing a little more. They are only about 1 inch long. Any wisdom is much appreciated."
Boulderheads

Well thanks! Yeah I think it would be fun to make a shape or figure with a scrog. Could even go as far as a 3D animal with chicken wire...LOL

Yes I would say now is a good time to start your LST. Your side branches will shoot after you have done so. Review the photos of the White Rhino and you will see that I did the same. I will be adding some more photos of that plant today and you can really see the results of a single bend of the main stem.

Happy to help!
