MTU X CAROLINA

One seed was germinated to insure viabiltiy. It germinated in 27 hours at 100% humidity (pure saturation) at 95 degrees F.

Seeds are ready!

What about scrapping the entire root systems and turning the whole plant into a clone.... Maybe change methods from organic soil to coco or aero or DWG and see what works best before comming back to the scrog....?
I love it!! sounds like a great opportunity to experiment. And your right, it would be better to chop the whole thing up for clones and start over with new root systems. You could battle a F'ed up root system the rest of the grow trying to revive them. Great Plan and Awesome news about the MTUXCarolina Germ!!!

x2 on chopping it for clones, maybe it will give the plant a chance.
also great news about the MTUXcarolina germ as well, i wonder what she looks like:weed:

Sounds awesome man. Love Alaska. Spent some time in Katmai. Beautiful beautiful place. And your plants look great. I actually got the privilege to smoke some MVTF. Some of the best grass I've ever tried. I'll be watching this one. Keep us posted! Since your doing a scrog check out what I did in my scrog.

Nute issues are clearly still a problem, however there is new growth and still the promise of recovery. I would like to add that for the sake of the journal, and the proof of possibility, I will continue to try and pull off a complete recovery and finish. Under normal circumstances I would have long ago scrapped the Arjans's Haze as it has taken the worst of the problems, and replaced it with the younger healthy plants.

What I would like to note is that if these problems continue to hinder the amount of medication I produce, I will need to revert my efforts to other projects. I would also like to ask who of the viewers is truly interested in seeing the recovery vs. change of strain. I would not scrap the genetics of course, more or less I would take large clones, continue to vegg them until healthy, replace them for the time being, and try scrogging them at a later date.

On another note: The Jacks Cleaner came from a friend who apparently does not believe in labeling clones. Thus, I have a CHUCK clone, not a Jacks Cleaner. My buddy is aware of the mistake and is correcting the problem however, this plant is extremely healthy and growing in leaps and bounds surpassing growth rates of all the others. I also know that this plant is a producer, and could make up for previous losses. Maybe this would be an ironic coincidence that could be a suitable "stand in" for the Arjans...?

How bout a bit of input from my beloved rollitupers?

P.S. Carolina X MTU germinating!
That's a shame woodsmantoker. I haven't been here for a while, so I missed the update.

I'm afraid I would switch strains. the plants are stressed pretty bad at this point, and taking clones from stressed plants isn't a good idea either.

glad to hear the C x MTU are viable.

Great journal, I am truly enjoying reading it. GreenCross turned me on to it so I know how I will be spending my afternoon. Glad to hear how well your seed geminated, very good news indeed. I am subscribed now and thanks for the info and the entertainment.:weed:

Howdy Folk!

Been a while I know. Sorry bout that!
Well, I switched service providers. As you can imagine its not an easy task out here. It took new equipment, satellite, and wiring to get done but what a difference!

As for the garden: The Arjans Haze still seems to show its finicky face when I least expect it. (I guess I should always expect it) I decided that giving up is not the option that I stand for so I will finish them outside of the scrog. What I have done is carefully pulled back all the growth that was through the screen (about 60%full) and lifted the screens off and out of the flowering room. I have then re-LST'd the plants main branches down below horizontal. The inner growth that would have been removed from the scrog is now being allowed to grow. The plants are much larger than I planned for however I am also considering transplanting to 20 gal containers and allowing these plants to grow to full potential. I think there is enough growth so far to easily produce a pound per plant and I would suspect that if I moved these plants to a larger area, that they will produce several pounds each. The main stalk on each plant is close to 2" at base. The growth pattern between the two phenos is becoming more dramatic as they mature. The odor of these plants is amazing. I would say wet pine is the most common smell with undertones that remind me of Christmas time. The leaf structure is inconsistent due to stress and lack of essentially required nutes. Node spacing is amazingly tight for such pure sativa, I would contribute this to the training. Overall these plants have given me hell, but I believe in Arjans genetics and am going to see them to the end. I will more than likely give the scrog of these plants another shot at a later date, however I do have additions to the garden that will be the most immediate replacement.

As for the Rhino: Believe it or not: MALE
From a fem seed pack, I got a pure male.... Don't really know what to say about that other than the mistake was quickly resolved and the company was kind enough to make it right as well as good! :) Thanks Greenhouse!

Replacements: I have been given two more clones of Jacks Cleaner in one container (don't ask). They rooted and will need to be given some time to come back to veg before I separate them. They were taken from a flowering mother (at week two) that was the best of the stock. By best I mean potency and yield. Unfortunately for me, the pheno is more of a cleaner smell than the yummy lemon that I like so much. I will be taking another clone of that pheno however, just at a later time when there is room in the garden.
The next to replace the Rhino will be BC beaster boy, AKA "CHUCKY". This was given to me as a clone by an old school grower from Colorado who guerrilla grew this strain in the desert for years. There are many stories about this plant being taken out by law enforcement over the years. This plant had a history of becoming the areas cash crop and most desired buzz which made it a target for crappy situations. Before the stain was lost to Uncle Sam for good, the creator low crawled into the garden at night and took back the genetics right out from under the nose of "The Man"~! The get away story was enough to convince me that it must have been something special for this person to have gone through such lengths to preserve the genetics. We'll see!

*CAROLINA BLUE* Seedling is Healthy! Good luck to those who are going to be part of the project!

PROJECT CREW: Please Private Message me giving me the go ahead. Anyone who does not message back will be excluded and replaced. Thanks!

Good to see you're back. This is one of my favorite journals, and stores about these strains... you aught to write some short stories and try selling them to high times, or at least document is all, before the folklore is lost forever.
"low crawled into the garden at night and took back the genetics right out from under the nose of "The Man"~!":hump: Great stuff!

Looking forward to the new pics and Carolina blue... :peace:

Hey there Butters, Thanks for the look.

Well, considering the removal of growing bud early its hard to say what the overall was. I would say however that I must have gotten over 4 ounces. The plant is capable of much greater results. I have crossed this plant with another copious producer and will thread it as well. Stay tuned and see!

Hey Folks,

Time for a bit of an update.

Well the seedling of CAROLINA BLUE is doing well. I am seeing faster growth in this hybrid than both of the original plants.

Arjans Ultra Haze #2 (note I have slacked in adding the ULTRA to the descript, but this is AUH not AH)
I will be switching to Coco for the next run, however these two phenos have taught me allot about there abilities and the lack there of. The B pheno is VERY bushy compared to the A pheno which strives to be a tall plant despite training. The plant has been tied down in every manner however still has the layed down christmas tree look. It is a much more challenging plant than its counter part.
I will be doing a selective seeding of the B pheno by White Rhino. I will show you folks how you can seed your plant without seeding the whole plant. This method allows for multiple genes to be used on one mother plant.

BC Beasters AKA Chucky, wild growth patterns comming out of flower but doing well. Not exactly sure what will happen with this plant as it was a unforeseen add to the garden.

Jacks Cleaner #2
This clone is coming back from being a two weeks from done bud. SLOW to say the least. But doing well....

Took a clone from the B pheno AUH#2
Healthy! Healthy! Healthy!
