That “you’re too honest” quote is not only important because it reveals that that man knew he lost.
It also clearly shows that that man was quite aware that he was engaging in a corrupt effort to subvert the election.
It proves that he was the boss and prime mover of an attempted overthrow of the whole republic. That quote will be in (blue state) American History texts for the next century.
It tells me that, if convicted, that man should be given a one-way ticket to where all the tier-1 enemies of the state spend their days.

While I disagree with Pence on most issues, I will say that at least he has some honor and tells the truth.

Imo it was an isolated incident.
Pence is a dominionist. He does not care about all Americans, only “the right sort”.
He has kept pretty quiet, which helps him not to be associated with the more dramatic wingnuts.
But he is full hard right. Those who do not search his politics generally do not know that.
