Hey guys,
I've done a few indoor grows quite a few years ago and recently the bug bit to get back into it. I've got a Growlush "System 100" which is essentially a recirculating top feed system with the pots sitting on top of the reservoir.
I know from experience that eventually the roots will make their way out of the clay balls at the top and down into the reservoir, turning it into a DWC, but the pots holding the plants also hold quite a lot of clay balls, so I'm not exactly sure how I should treat the system.
I've just placed my seedlings (AK-47 Feminised) into my system as they're all getting roots growing out of the jiffy. I guess my main question is, what kind of timer setting should the pump be on? It's currently on 15min every 6 hours, but I'm worried that this could be too much, and have the jiffy soaked all the time, but also potentially be too little and have the clay balls drying out between feeds.
I remember I used to run the system 15min every hour, but I also had no idea what I was doing. I assume I'll need to increase the frequency of the feeds as the plants get bigger and go into flower?
The plants are in a 4'x4' grow tent with two Viparspectra P2500 LED grow lights. The top feed system is all DIY but pretty basic, pumping up to a "hydro halo" around each plant. There's also 4 1.5" air stones in the reservoir. Nutes are Advanced Nutrients Sensi Grow, currently at about 75ml/100L.
Any help with the nutrient timer would be greatly appreciated, and so would any tips to help get the biggest and best harvest! I've got a 12'x4' tent as well which I'll eventually be using as a flowering tent, using the 4'x4' for veg and taking cuttings as they move to the flower tent.
Thanks in advance!
