This is a super good deal from timber.Good on you that you are getting good lights right off the jump.
I would recommend a 2VL with 4000K in your VEG tent. The would grow you some pretty bushy babes and put that Magnolia to good use.
Until 10 minutes ago, I thought I was set for lights for years. Now I find myself trying to justify getting a Cypress.... Buy one Cypress 3 or Cypress 6, and get the second 1/2 off! ...
I know. And it would be interesting to flower a crop with strips instead of COB's.... It's a really tempting deal ...
Got mine all set up and I think I'm going to try it out next run also. Very very pretty light so far astetics wise and I'm sure it will kill it in the grow also!Just got my new Magnolia. It's a very impressive light and I'm looking forward to some great results with it. I'm going to use it on my next grow instead of my Fatty and see how it goes.
As usual from Timber, the build quality is outstanding. The heat management system is pretty simple but should be highly effective in dispersing heat evenly and preventing drivers and boards from overheating. The boards are mounted to heavy duty extruded aluminum plates that have added ribbing on the backside to better absorb heat. Those are then mounted to aluminum rails to further absorb heat. So, the whole frame is basically a heat sink. Given the efficiency of the boards and the heat management, the light generated should approach that of a Fatty.
Another aspect of these lights is the fact that Timber worked with Samsung to produce these boards. They were designed by Samsung for cultivation. The far-red diodes are Samsung too and are top bin diodes. There's no diode quality roulette with these boards. No counterfeits or B quality diodes.
Having individual drivers for each board is great failsafe insurance should a driver crap out. The fixture will continue to run on the remaining drivers.
Overall, while I'm biased, these lights can compete with anything on the market. The price, build quality and board integrity are second to none. In my view, Timber has just set the bar pretty high for board-based lighting fixtures. IMO, these blow HLG's out of the water.
Alittle disappointed to see cobs missing from their website... Did i miss out on the final sale?Got mine all set up and I think I'm going to try it out next run also. Very very pretty light so far astetics wise and I'm sure it will kill it in the grow also!
No more cobs? What happens when I need new ones?Alittle disappointed to see cobs missing from their website... Did i miss out on the final sale?
I'm pretty sure that they are repairing them and may even build to order. However, the market seems to prefer strips and boards so Timber probably saw the writing on the wall and moved to what the market wants. I imagine that Dan from Timber will probably provide some clarity. No more cobs? What happens when I need new ones?

Hello @RoguedawgAre the heatsinks on the magnolia Tnutz 1 inch by half inch? I have been using 1 inch by 1 inch and was wondering if the 1 by half inch would'nt work on next light. I use 10 heatsinks on same wattage that magnolia has 8, but i use f series singles instead of brigiluxs.
