Finally, the Timber Magnolia 4 has arrived!

Leave it to Dan and crew to put together a serious American light. The boards are made directly by Samsung and are of the highest quality. No guessing on where they were sourced. It's got 700 diodes a board and has equal or better performance than the HLG Diablo Spyder for less money. They actually provide the averaged color spectrum as well. Can't wait to get my hands on one.

We all have our light preferences. But, objectively speaking, this is a mighty fine growing appliance

Hey, Dan. The new Magnolia light looks like a monster! I think you guys should open up a showroom and make a display for all the evolution of the Timber Company/Lights. I can't even remember how I got led to you, back before you started Timber Grow Lights, but I remember the two lights that you built for me. The first was that 200 watt one with the Stella silicon lenses. Then, I traded up to the 400 watt "Frank The Tank" and still have it packed up exactly as it came to me, in original condition. It has so many fans in it, it's almost like a drone! LOL! And, yes, it's a bit heavy and "clunky" by today's standards, but it sure was cool in its day!

So, if you ever want it back to display for historical purposes, then just let me know! :)

Ha, the first cxb cob fixture they built for me was in a speaker box, actively cooled. Thing was built solid as fuck (usual from them). Crazy to see the progression over the years , One thing that stayed the same was their overspeced thermal management, magnolia is no different.

I have a couple Redwood VS lights, which I've been very happy with. Recently, one of the lights has started flickering. It seems like the flickering is from the 3 cobs on one side of the light, all using the same driver. Do you think I just need to replace the driver to correct this?

I would check all your wires and connections and make sure nothing has rusted or corroded being in a high humidity grow room can cause that, and then cause a spotty electrical connection. A lot cheaper to replace some wires then a driver. Might not work but worth the time and savings imo.

ditch light and look at led bar lights or hlg quantum boards

Hello @domino7

Thank you for the post. It sounds to me like you either have a failing potentiometer (more likely) or possibly a failing driver (far less likely).

Please either give us a call at 866-892-5364 or shoot us an email at [email protected] and we would be more than happy to assist you with troubleshooting and obtaining the proper replacement parts.

Have a good day
Dan

Agree. My 320 RSpec grew some large, dense and effective bud. My VL's grew slightly larger and slightly more effective bud.

( BTW - does your RIU name have anything to do with Version 7 of the Domino Software? )
I had purchased a HLG RSpec Scorpion and a Timber Fatty. I returned the HLG. It was a well-built light. However, I just found that it wasn't to my liking. I subsequently purchased a Redwood and a 4VS. I love all of my COB based lights. That being said, I plan on ordering two of Timber's new Magnolia series. This light seems as if it is going to be a beast relative to its power consumption. The new boards from Samsung look intriguing too. That plus Timbers focus on performance, quality and customer service make a no brainer for me. I've stayed mostly on the sidelines when it comes to board lights. However, I trust Timber to make a light that I'll be wholly satisfied with.

I have no complaints about my Rspec. I really like the heat sinks on the Timbers though. The HLG light is always hot. The Timbers aren't.
Domino was my dog's name when I first got the internet many years ago, and I've been using it ever since. I'm not all that imaginative lol

You will love the 2VL. You can see that it's really good growing appliance. Since it's for VEG, are you going with the 4000K?
I'll probably go with whatever they recommend at the time of purchase. As this will be my first grow I'm looking for any/all recommendations for doing it right the first time; quality lighting seemed like a logical first step.
