Thermoelectric wine cooler drying and curing - DIY

Would some kind soul give me a brief procedure on drilling the fridge including type and size of bit.

I used a 3/8 bit. I'm used a ac infinity controller, so the wires for the dehumidifier and the controller fit nice. Then I got a 3/8 rubber grommet. I use a small dap of silicone on the inside.

Be careful that you don’t drill a hole into gas insulated walls as I have it. Instead I use thin wires and use the hole for the water drip IMG_5853.jpegIMG_5856.jpeg

@gooshpoo, on the 78L/bigger unit I got, the drain is elevated. Is yours as well, and if so how are you draining the dehu?
I just have mine sitting at a angle everything is draining fine for me but check the thermal electric heat-sink in the back, make sure everything is tight mine leaked a tiny bit.
I also used these for my hole inside and out.

Would it hurt to add a small computer fan in the bottom running all the time to circulate air like the cannatrol ? I no the dehu has a fan but it only runs when it kicks on, I don’t think a fan blowing up would be that great of idea but what about a fan fastened to bottom of bottom tray blowing down to circulate air ?

Also I added my own drain for dehu in the center where I put the white dot at in pic,I drilled a 1/2 hole through bottom and put a piece of rubber tubing in hole and use a thin cookie sheet under the unit, works great ! I get no standing water in the bottom anymore like I was with the factory drain !

I don’t think it would hurt, but don’t think it’s necessary either. I don’t know of anyone that has added an extra fan, nor anyone that has had an issue an extra fan would solve.

Interesting lol I was trying to cut out a tray tilted to the hole in the back. Did you notice any temp difference?

I've got everything I need ready, except I'm waiting on the 78L cooler to be delivered. Using the AC Infinity Controller 79P, I don't think I'll need to drill a big hole for that sensor or the wires, so hoping it goes easily.

I'm building it because I need one, but also, I'll be drying soon and need to leave town towards the end of a dry. One of the things I was anticipating needing to do was draining or toweling up the water, but it seems people are draining it either with a drain hole in the unit already (?) or an added hole under the peltier. @gooshpoo Can you provide a picture of the way your peltier sits in the 78L cooler? I think that's the only thing I'm still a little unsure of.

I should be mostly done drying when I need to leave, but I was worried about there still being water that needs to be collected by the time I leave. If I can just set up a drain and a cookie sheet to collect it, it'd solve my problem. Also, I'm assuming no problem with having to potentially leave during the dry? I went with the 79P so I could control it from a distance with the WiFi controller, where I'll be able to monitor/adjust as needed.
