4 nice MangoThai seedlings

These are the genes I'm really going to be working with in the coming seasons. The first seed I popped hermied super bad.
I'm hoping I have some nice boys and girls here and hopefully chasing non-hermaphroditic offspring. Once I get a good population going, I'll be pheno-hunting for the most resinous, funky southeast Asia sativa goodness.

Glad there's some folks on here still keeping up with TRSC.

Well done on the malana cream.

Since that Sinai I've worked through:

Tirah, made and grew out some seeds. Got one girl, bit of leaf necrosis that probably needs some further selection to get rid of. Much more fun flower structure than the Afghans though.

Manipuri, got one girl. Bit easily stressed. Still hadn't really finished at 22 weeks but interesting enough. Cobbed it. Clone matured enough to do proper flowers much quicker.

Ukhrul, had a stable female which I've managed to keep. Mango/floral spice with wispy bracts and a gentle haze high.
Took to 20wks.

Definitely want to go through both Ukhrul & Manipuri in more detail one day.

Afghan mix, was interesting enough. Had one decent female, if a bit leafy/fluffy. Nice greasy finger hash though. The Sholgara Afghan in my previous post and it's siblings were a little less fluffy.

Johaar was wayyy too leggy for short height indoor.

The Sinai x Iran seeds made a very pretty (structure/leaf) & fast plant indeed but it threw some bananas so I cut it at 48 days. Still had a nice buzz too it though and burnt clean.

One Sinai had a bunch of bananas going around too so not sure my Iran pollination was too successful. That plant had about 80 seeds and it's neighbour ten. The offspring tested was from the neighbour.

Keep up the good work this year folks
:D

@bbrose

Both phenos look bangin' there. Serrations for days on the left and super narrow vigour on the right.

Glad there are some more squat bushy plants in there also.

Re: 20 weeks! Yes it's long AF. OK though when there's other stuff about to keep pottering with and keep me from bothering them too much.

Current is Cannabiogen Red Snake 79 Oaxacan X Punto Rojo and while seeds have been seeded on the super fast girl there's one who hasn't even built bud sites yet. Long haul ahead.

Yeah but what I fear is that where I'm located doesn't really lend well to growing tropical sativas - we'll see how it goes. Temps at night can go down to below 20 degrees C (that's under 68 fahrenheit)
The goal is to preserve the genetics, if it can be grown half decently in this climate then why not. I also want to end up chasing high-CBD flavorful sativas for medical reasons - as far as modern stuff I do have Cherry Wine from GPS but that's a project for next year.

It's going to be tricky but definitely enough time to make seeds, assuming everyone syncs up or you manage to preserve a viable pollen collection. Just look at when your daylight hours historically really start to drop and count from there. I would imagine they're probably ok down to about 12°c/53°F if not further.
Sativas can be surprisingly hardy when given time to properly acclimate.
Mango Thai is from 18°N which at least isn't as far south as the Keralan accessions.
Definitely Manipuri being from 25°N has made it a bit more relaxed.

I thought this would happen. Both males now look like this:

Now, both female plants still look 100% female - no male parts. Will it even be worth making more seeds of the Mango Thai variety at this point?

Hi guys,

I m very happy to see some people having fun doing crosses using RSC too.
I m glad we can share our experience. Since a long long while that was my dream to cross and smoke various and unknow taste effect...
Last year i got Sinai, nanda devi, kumaoni, lao (but they didnt sproat).
I had many supprised with flowering timing and bud consistency. I didnt use any fertilisater just full ground and water.

So i had an autoflower afghan male coming from the afghan mix freebies.

That one got to flower from the begining one and feat well with sinai who was ready on mid september.
I got seed from various selection all from the auto afghan male :

- Kumaoni purple pheno (like the pictures) nice red fruit taste and speed sativa effect . the seeds was not realy finished and i had only five of them only one could make it some days ago; that is going to be impressive because kumaoni as a very strong grow for fiber and that clear it grow tall the bud was small but dense. so i think mix with this bushy afghan salad thats going to be monster cropping!!! But as i said only one could make it so male or female i ll keep it for crossing for sure.

- Sinai early mid september very short but not bushy like one bud and some around... nice ace juice smell but turn out to be disturbing in the end of flowering like kinda dead meat barbecu wird ... effect as discribed blissfull but giving numbness i felt like. quite strong as a middle range of the street weed. Dried she taste mint anis, and over smoked could lied to sleep.( i started some F1 directly after harvest and i could see how strong they where. the chicken killed them middle october ... fucking chicken!!! the fox killed him some month ago ... thats Karma for sure !!!

-Nanda Devi green and short consistent pheno with fruit mix jus. potent nanda devi effect relax . very importante or not she got red pink pistil and she was the only one to be like that. Nanda devi as maybe 10 types variants. the following red ND is totally different in look.

-Nanda Devi red pheno wine growhabbit a lot of branch maybe 20 or 30 for 1m50. Selected for his effect body high I guess a lot of CBD going on.

-Afghan sativa pheno from the mix. That lady streched double than Sinai ( wich was not the indica pheno) potent relax high stone but no couch loack, taste was more llike metal, on foot she was realy fruity. a very strong flowering structure i ll bring pictures an other day.

Ok, so that said, this year i m back on business. And i started early january with my very first F1 Sinai x afghan mix RSC and the F1 Afghan "sativa" x afghan broadleaf. i fucked up the kumanoni as said earlyer and only one remain but she s starting full power !
I ll had pictures tomorrow .
So all this nice people is starting showing the sexe. i allready have the father Sinai x Afghan for the F2 session and i hop two lady of the same cross,
one of the double afghan and two ND green x afghan and two ND red pheno x Afghan.
From what i can see Sinai was the best match the auto male but Kumaoni is going to be surpprising for sure i m sad not to have other of this cross.

thx for sharing all those TRSC adventure.

Here she is at 4 weeks in. I culled the other one which was showing signs of wanting to grow monstrous and some mutations. I only have so much space in my tent I want to devote to another long-ass flowering sativa. Here's the one I kept

outside the tent so you can see the whole thing. Already getting taller than I'd like for my setup. Gorgeous plant though.

Who said sativas can't be bushy?
I think I lucked out and got the richer-scented pheno. From RSC website:

The richer, more tobacco-scented forms typically have darker-coloured bracts, a trait that’s enhanced on curing.
Buds are resinous and will coat a joint in oil during smoking. Smoke is thick, flavourful, and smooth.

In this shot I used the flash, you can see it's starting to be resinous.

I took the two boys upstairs as soon as they showed signs of flowering. They are full on herms though. My plan now is to let them self pollinate and I will get seeds from there, and I may chance chucking some here too, on this girl, very carefully. Usually I shut the flower tent down during the summer months. These Mango Thai girls (and I have 3 cuttings, 2 of this one and a cutting of the weirdo one) I'll let finish until the last warm rays of sun in the fall from behind our windows. There will be seeds and I suspect nice smoke.

Yo!
Here i'll start with the summer's ladys . I started all of them late in June !
First Sinaï cut middle september.
Here you can see the signature of the landrace of this Nile area. If you look at the leaf of the sudanese from TRSC you got the same detail in the leaf.IMG_4167.JPGIMG_4158.JPGIMG_4157.JPGIMG_4167.JPG

Here come the Nanda devi keeper pheno ( on the right ) . But i think i ll need help my pictures doesnt appear well....
Over 50 plants that the one.
First to devide Nanda devi, you make it sprout. the first half sprout and its probably better than the second half wich doesn't because of his wild habbit. So you can open them your self; and indeed they r different, wilder, less potent taste and smell different and wilder in all aspect i'll show you the deep purple pheno coming from alien's moovie.
so here gentle fruity nice high and short dense easy manucure pheno with pinky red orange pistil !IMG_4735.JPGIMG_4731.JPGIMG_4736.JPGIMG_4730.JPGIMG_4364.JPG

I have a pack of Nanda Devi just waiting to be born. I'll have 5x the space I do now by the end of the year, so they need to be patient. Thanks for telling us about them!
