I wish I would have known how sought after Blueberry would end up being. It was being grown by lots of people around here years ago. Cuts were not hard to come by. It would be hard to prove it was from the initial strain though. Nobody would believe me if I had a cut I had kept around for 40 years.

I've been obsessed with blueberry for the better part of the last 2 weeks. The way people talk about it makes it seem magical, so this is somewhat serendipitous.

I know what my next seed purchase is going to be!

Oregon elite just got the 90's blues and has 25% off with free shipping right now if you're interested in that one too.

The Blueberry DJ short is making now just ain't the same, allegedly.

Doesn't help he has Blueberry f5, true blueberry, 90s blueberry, and Flo (which is also blueberry). All of which get mixed reviews, some better than others, but none of them have been reported to be as good as the stuff he worked on in the 90s.

Cant verify this myself. This is just from 2 weeks of digging through forums for info on blueberry strains.

If you havent already found it yet there is lots of information about DJ's lines here.
The history is very much full of allegations.
All of his lines are descendants from the same 4 strains but I wouldn't say that flo is blueberry just because they share common ancestor lines. I picked up both the blueberry f5 as well as the 90's blues to compare them as the 90's blues seems to be a new selection made for those looking for the fruitier. I haven't grown either yet. I've only grown out peak seeds blueberry that I didn't do so well with. I might add one of these BasqueBerry to the collection now as well for comparison but the description is not clear on what it is as it claims it's an f5 but if they used dj f5 stock then it should be an f6. Or maybe they used old dutch passion or sagarmartha stock but it doesn't say.

The Flo was free with my order, so no skin off my back. I can't wait to hear people's thoughts on 90s blueberry and this kwikseeds offering. I am going to attempt my first winter grow with Pineapple Fields clones, and whether I succeed or fail, it's going to be spring before I get another grow in. If I find out either strain has the magic, it will be an immediate purchase.

I'm quite happy with the Blueberry I got from Jordan of the Islands. People say his genetics have turned to crap or whatever because it's someone else doing it now but I found a couple plants last year when I did a run that had awesome blueberry terps and the stone was wonderful, mellow and very relaxing. Who knows where he got it in the first place? There's little info about it. Mind you, two years ago I ran Banana Spliff from Bodhi and had some very blueberry terp plants with that. So who knows if there truly is one true Blueberry - personally I doubt it. It's like the skunk threads on this forum. I find it comical that there are these "holy grail" strains people hunt for, claim to have found and then other forum members come along and bash them claiming "uh, no that's not the real blueberry" ... whatever man.

I have a Flo going from DJ. It's just started flower and has the strongest smell of 7 other strains from 7 other companies in the closet. It's weird, it's not skunky but like Sumac weeds. I hate that smell and immediately smell it when I open the door. I guess you could call it floral...

The biggest reason the blueberry grail is interesting to me is that so many have tried, and nobody has succeeded. Sure, they've grown gear with blueberry terps, but not the blueberry of old.

I'd say it's just nostalgia and rose tinted glasses, but the descriptions are so similar that I for one buy into it.

Where Blueberry was lost to time unintentionally (or so it seems) it appears as though the skunk was bred out of skunk. It just smelled so dank people were worried about getting caught with the stuff.

Maybe that's all bullshit, but I fucking love a good story and hunt

Yeah it's just the few random breeders that you hear say they still have this holy grail as a cut and are backcrossing it like lemon hoko and verdant green. It would be nice if kwik seeds said where the parent seeds came from and when to add to this story.

Bingo! Is it so hard to say where you sourced your genetics in the first place? That's what I like about Lucky13, Professor Sprout is forthcoming about where he got the building blocks for his crosses. I'll be trying his Deep6 in the not-to-distant future, which he is saying came from Tom Hill's Deep Chunk IBL a while back - I wonder if anyone's grown RSC Freak Chunk & is it similar/same?

compare with

cheers!

Id say its more old stock than a cut sure its proly more cuts now the blueberry of old was a stretch indica with stripey redy purple stems even on the green phenos ive only ever grew the old release it was good i wouldnt say its best ive ever smoked but it was very tasty and a nice relaxing stone id say its like mango and cali o that way the taste n smell is more what these things are about vs just potency

He responded to me and said they're an f6 made from dj shorts f5. So I'm not seeing how these are anything but a hunted next generation of currently available f5. But it seems Angus has found some berry in it.
