The Midnight Farm Grow Journal: Welcome to the Harem

Looking nice..
You hand water everything? How's your new system work?
You ever tried a blumat? I've never used coco but I hear they work really good with them as long as you use nutrients that dilute in water really good, so no pure blend and stuff like that

Never tried Blumats. I've been hand watering. Lol just tested the drip system and the pipe is leaking like crazy where the emitter goes in. Soooo back to the drawing board. But ideally I want to be able to stick in 1 stake per solo cup in veg. Two stakes per mom. And in the flower room two stakes per plant. Probably gonna change away from floraflex and save some money on drip emitters plus they are available in different drip volumes etc.

Oh man that's a big room to hand watero_O
Shitty luck they didn't work.did you buy it or is it a DIY?
Was going to say You should grab a small blumat pack to try on a couple plants but the smallest set I saw on blackswallow was a 12 pack for 119, kinda pricey but they work really well.

Automated watering is the cats ass, saves so much time and bullshit

I was looking at blumats when I was trying to do organic. I think I am gonna try organic again on some additional trays. But stay with coco for the main crop. I don't think I need the blue mat kits. You can buy the parts individually much cheaper. In a 4x4 bed just two blue mats are supposed to do fine. You put teo carrots with emitter hose running between them.

You can use 2 carrots per 4x4 bed but you would have to use the blusoak tape/hose
The bluesoak looks awsome.
Ya You could just get 2 carrots come bluesoak tape and you need some of the 8mm manifold line and some 3mm lines to go to the carrots I think, the 3mm lines that come with a carrot are pretty small so you probably want extra, it's good to have a bit extra of each line just in case. And then just the piece for your res. If you run a res I would suggest you loop your line to have a uniform amount of pressure so you would want 2 tank connectors.
I ordered shut off valves for each of my tank connectors so I can take my res off without fucking up all my blumats
There's a nice grow journal that gets updated regularly while running his first 4x4 grassroots bed with 2 carrots and the bluesoak, looks like it's going pretty good
They work real good in coco too, not just living soil
If you want to read up on them icmag has a thread of about 500 pages on blumats I read it when I first bought them, lots of great info in that thread

Was just thinking if you have water access close to your grow room to could get the pressure reducer and not worry about a res at all.
As long as your doing organic just run a hose to a pressure reducer to your 8mm line and then to your carrot and that's it, just top dress under the bluesoak tape every week or two and you got the easiest set up :weed::bigjoint::bigjoint:

Ya so I got a 3/4" tap and hose connection right in my grow. So the original plan when I wanted to do living soil was to have that tap feed the beds so no res. Lol. But now I am doing 6 res. And I'll do 1 or two organic boxes maybe next round or something. Months out from now. Lots of time to plan. Lol. Def still would consider blumats for that. When you run blumats off a pump. What size pump does it need? Would a simple sump pump do?

You either run a res that uses gravity to feed water through the lines or if you don't have enough height then they sell a pump set up so you can keep your res on the ground. I use the gravity system have my res 4-5 feet in the air. I don't know to much about using the pump system but I know people use it, if you want info on the pump system check out icmag https://www.icmag.com/forum/marijuana-growing/cannabis-growing-questions/107370-blumat-auto-watering
That thread is epic with so much info

If you get the pressure reducer and run it right off your tap no pump is needed and I hear the blumats work alot better with the pressure reducer due to the constant pressure that never changes.
