The head of the Roman Catholic Church in the Holy Land has warned in an interview that the rise of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's far-right government has made life worse for Christians in the birthplace of Christianity.


The influential Vatican-appointed Latin Patriarch, Pierbattista Pizzaballa, told The Associated Press that the region's 2,000-year-old Christian community has come under increasing attack, with the most right-wing government in Israel's history emboldening extremists who have harassed clergy and vandalized religious property at a quickening pace.

The uptick in anti-Christian incidents comes as the Israeli settler movement, galvanized by its allies in government, appears to have seized the moment to expand its enterprise in the contested capital.

I would be highly surprised if they don't euthanize her. Once an Animal displays aggressive behavior, they almost always do here.
They used to transport them as far from people as they could, but there are too many people now, and the bears can walk back to population within a day or two from anywhere they can relocate them to.
It's sad that we invade their homes, and then euthanize them, for "public safety"....

We should start telling the Republicans that lifted f150s are the official car of wokeness. Maybe they will shoot their trucks and stop fucking up traffic.

Might as well tell the bicycles and public transit make libs cry or something while we are at it.


...yes, I do think the mental picture of a bunch of magats riding bicycles and drinking wine to combat wokeness is quite funny and something we as a nation should work towards.

The RSF paramilitaries have claimed control of the presidential palace, Khartoum airport and other vital facilities. The army denied the claims and late on Saturday the Sudanese air force launched airstrikes on an RSF base in the city of Omdurman, which adjoins Khartoum

Yassir al-Awad, a father of four daughters and a resident of Khartoum, told the Observer that the city was witnessing a “power struggle between military leaders”.
“The Sudanese people should not take part but sadly we have been dragged into it, as Sudanese people we do not have any interest in this. Whichever one wins, we are the losers at the end,” he said.

A US-backed plan to stop migrants from crossing the lawless Darién Gap will likely fail and only push desperate people further into the hands of merciless people-trafficking organisations, migration experts have warned.

The US Department of Homeland Security announced on Tuesday that it had brokered a deal with the Colombian and Panamanian governments to halt migrants crossing the land bridge on their journey northward to the US.

The communique gave little information on how migrants would be stopped but the homeland security secretary, Alejandro Mayorkas, told the Spanish news agency EFE that any illegal migrants making the trip will be “turned back”.

Given that the Darién Gap is a lawless region run by armed groups, it is likely the plan would require militarisation, a scenario which Nicole Phillips, legal director of Haitian Bridge Alliance, an immigration policy non-profit, described as “terrifying”.

Facing pressure from conservatives, the Biden administration is trying to cut down on irregular migration and has set its sights on the booming foot traffic through the Darién.

Why is it America's fault that these countries can't support themselves? Why is it America's responsibility to support them like children returning home after failing on their own?
The United States doesn't control the world economy. We do have influence, but no authority to enforce anything on anyone who doesn't want to comply. I am in favor of humanitarian aid, i don't want people to starve to death, or freeze, or die of heat prostration...But their economic problems are theirs to deal with. These countries have resources, manpower, communication with the rest of the world...they've been given considerable financial aid already, are they to be supported for their entire existence?
We already give a LOT...What more should we be expected to do?
