KUSH OFF UPDATE: AUGUST END - PART 1 of 2

the august flip, final defoliation, to pull or not to pull...

everything has finally flipped for flower.
godfather kicked it off back in may when it was transplanted, and the spice! was the last one to start showing at the beginning of last week.
between the kush off plants, i would say they all flipped the switch at roughly the same time. no frontrunners there. however, i am seeing some really interesting structure(s) forming. not a lot of scent being kicked off just yet... but i did notice some whiffs when i was picking up the purple kush pots for their end of month defoliation (removed all the low larf as well) and top dress amendments. silver surfer haze also gave off some scents of skunk and sweet. hopefully it keeps the volume low for the neighborhood... :O
as stated, i did my final larf trim and defoliation of fans that light block lower cola sites. some really chunky looking sites forming. i think the indicas will be able to handle the weight, but the spindly ones like og kush and blackberry kush may need some stakes to hold up branches when the colas fatten up.
which circles us back around to godfather og. this plant has been pretty odd. it grew vigorously, but it has been in a flowering state since i transplanted it back in may. now that it is in full flower it's older leaves/calyxes have turned brown and are crisping off. it dropped most if not all of it's fan leaves weeks ago by itself. every time i water i am picking out crispy dead brown leaves and other plant material off/out of the colas. almost a daily thing. i have also extracted caterpillars and battled briefly with spidermites. the godfather has definitely been this grow's problem child plant. the choice now is do i keep growing it out and risk bud rot/mold (because it already seems predisposed to this) or stop now and harvest it? it is still producing some white pistils over very old and darker brown calyxes/pistils, so i guess it is technically still going. i have not looked at them close up with magnifying glass to see trichs... (amber or even black in some areas?) so i do not know what is going on with it, but its fading pretty hard and like i stated, i'm always picking crispy dead sh*t out of it.
is this a case where this strain has always been cultivated indoors and just couldn't deal with the weather and sun here? i don't really think it's an issue with soil mix or amendments/ferts i am using... everything else is thriving despite months of 100F and above temps daily (with zero rain all summer).
anyone else run into this before? what did you end up doing? cut or keep?

OG KUSH
humboldt OG Kush - this one is pretty spindly and tall since it's stretch. also noticed the branches are pretty brittle... snapped one pretty bad trying to see if i could LST it down away from the covernetting. regardless of the spindly branches,i am pretty impressed with the formation of colas and the internode spacing. pretty excited to see the yield on this bad girl after thinking it was shamming in fight camp.

PURPLE KUSH
the structure between blim and kann are very similar IMO. sdsm cpk is doing it's own thing, but excited to see what this one produces as the cola tops look FAT already.

BUBBA KUSH
barney's farm BK - this one's current structure reminds me of GDP... hopefully it fattens up a LOT in the coming weeks. this one has been consistently healthy and remains so.

ADDITIONAL KUSH
blimburn blackberry kush - this one did some very weird stuff after last months defoliation and top dress. i rearranged the plants and put it on the opposite end where it ended up getting blasted by winds and more late day sun. a few days after the move the fan leaves started clawing. immediately though "nitrogen poisoning" and started flushing it. flushed for a full week, with no changes. tried a few other fixes with zero effect. did some research... the closest thing i could find was "wind burn" would cause clawing with no other symptoms. ok then... *shrugs*
regardless, it is flowering and otherwise healthy... just some clawed fans. evidently it doesn't like wind and liked being in the middle of all the other plants sheltered from high winds. cola structure looks pretty awesome.
blimburn purple bubba kush - this one did a pretty good stretch and looks to have a lot of good colas forming up. pretty!

ADDITIONAL PARTICIPANTS
blimburn Godfather OG - problem child. unsure if i'm going to just pull it and harvest or let it go.
barney's farm strawberry lemonade - big stretch. got tall. colas are going to be long and stacked.
blimburn silver surfer haze - this one stretched pretty hard also. getting some skunky/sweet scents
GOG candyland - of all the plants i am growing, i am most impressed with this plant's cola structure. topping and LST on this plant is going to produce branch long colas. i didn't pull much larf off this one at all. i'm really looking forward to seeing what this one produces. #1.

now on to the photos. took individual shots this time as i would finish defoliation and top dress.

KUSH OFF UPDATE: AUGUST END - PART 2 of 2

Continuing on with photos -

2020 Mendocino The Spice!
2020m-ts.jpg

Shoreline OG Grandaddy Purple (survivor of the interior space spidermite infestation of 2023 - did VERY well with it's treatment and quarantine. loved being in the sun. bounced back pretty quick, so i transplanted to permapot and have decided to flower it out with the rest of the outdoor plants.
shln-gdp.jpg

Blimburn Godfather OG - the problem child. zoom in... you'll see what i mean about the crispy brown dead sh*t sandwiched in the colas. been in flower since transplant in may. cull it or keep it? what do you think?
blim-gfog.jpg

that's all for now.
good luck with y'alls grows.

With your outdoor plants try letting them bush out with no defoliation. Really let them cast a large shadow. They need to shade their root zone more if you're throwing them out into the 100° heat. I think you will notice a massive difference in your results.

Look at the guys growing in afghanistan. Harshest area on the planet, plants absolutely loving it. Important to notice how much foliage and how little defoliation they do.

Every locale is different so I'm not saying you should copy their grow style but try less, you may be suprised!

Love the concept of the thread btw.

thanks for your response.

i am a bit wary of letting the plants do their own thing and get too tall or bushy and be completely obvious. this is NOT a legal state by any stretch and i am trying to keep things relatively small and discreet. i have nosey boomer neighbors who like to call the cops on everything and anything. dogs barking? cops will be knocking. want to do fireworks on the 4th of july? forget about it. buffy and muffy's herd of pomeranians don't like the fireworks, so they will call the cops. young neighbor wanting to have a superbowl party with his buddies? nope. the ancients will call the cops. beyond the a$$hole neighbors, i have helicopters and drones flying over daily. my risk factor is pretty high.
thankfully i am also an avid fruit and vegetable gardener, so i do have some semblance of "cover" so to speak.

all this being said, i DO see the logic to what you propose. i am just still wary about letting things get too big. i have considered building a scrog setup for outside. that would help shade the root zone for sure, and it would keep things short and more manageable. it's big drawback though is the portability... if i ever have to bring things inside (contractors, workmen, terminix guy) i can easily just grab the pots and haul them in quickly. that would be difficult with scrog... so far the small pots and LST/topping/supercropping have been my thing to keep them short and in control.
so far the one thing that has helped a lot has been the addition of the cypress mulch on top of the soil. learned that hard lesson 2yrs ago when i started this mission. it has helped retain moisture during the summer heat and helps keep things a bit cooler. i hadn't really considered the plant naturally shading itself while being so focused on keeping them short/discreet (but still producing a decent yield).
attention to detail.

thanks again for your response. appreciate your insights.
cheers. and good luck with your grows.

Ah I understand your need for discretion. And as well the challenges of smaller soil sizes outside as I use 5 and 10 gallons outside currently. They do really well spaced close together but standing alone they dry up fast. It's not as easy to keep happy as something in the ground. 5's seem to do better in partial sun for me.

And good call on the mulch that will help a lot. Just be sure to supplement a little extra N since they are woodchips, the microbes can steal some fertilizer trying to decompose the mulch.

A technique that could work for your scenario is planting early July and tying the top down horizontal just before August. If your soil is working well that's plenty of time to get a nice little structure, half the height by tying it down and then let it rebranch out during the stretch phase.

yeah. discretion is paramount here. this is my first year with something larger than a 5gal bucket. i have slowly scaled up in pot size after seeing what size plants are actually manageable here and also considerations of yield. the strains i found that worked were initially grown in 2gal buckets... small yield. blew through the supply too fast. scaled up to 4gal last year and got manageable plants with better yield. this year i got bigger with the 7gals. i am pleased with the results so far. these seem a really good size for here.
i assure you, i would LOVE to grow monsters... yield pounds... but i'm still strain hunting. got a LOT of seeds/strains still to get thru. found two primaries. need their backups now. time, space and illegal state are my biggest enemies trying to get through all these. i don't have any local growmies to throw some seeds at and have run out for me. wish i did. :\

as far as spacing is concerned, i have the whole ganj "garden" laid out linear. they have about 16-18" separating the pots. they are also covered with netting that provides slight windbreak and slight shade. will take a pic for you. the ones on either end do the heavy lifting for windbreak and shade. the inners reap the benefits.
spacing and ventilation are important here. i learned the hard way 2yrs ago that when the summer finally decides to take it's leave, rainy season comes. bud rot is a hard reality at that point. no more high heat to dry the colas out. added ventilation from below corrected this problem for me last year. only had one plant that got a touch of bud rot last year. pulled the section off and the rest of the plant was fine and finished strong.

the mulch is a necessity here. it is really hot and really dry. gotta retain whatever moisture you can when temps can get up to 115F.

i was not aware the microbes would steal the N where wood chips were involved. good tip. thanks.
i knew the wood chips can f*ck with the soil PH. another reason i only use the cypress mulch.

some of the farmers around here will do a late planting on some of the crops. not something i had considered. it's not a bad idea. would keep the plants small for certain, and i wouldn't necessarily have to do so much topping, LSTing and supercropping... stress it out less.
hmmm... interesting. it's almost the scenario that played out with the 2020mendocino the spice! seed i planted super late in the season. admittedly it looks scrawny in comparison to those that were started back in april/may but it is still going to yield something.
i can certainly experiment with a late planting next year.

thanks again for your responses and insights.
appreciate you.

good luck with your grows.

That layout looks great. I assumed they were each more isolated from the solo shots, my apologies.
no worries. that's why i snapped the shot.

i took each individual shot after i had finished defoliating and top dressing. give everyone a chance to see the developing flower structure. compare/contrast each strain.

after that was done, everything went back onto the "rails" and re-covered with the bird netting.

KUSH OFF UPDATE: MID SEPTEMBER - PART1

in bloom, BUUUUGGGS!, RIP Godfather

everything is in bloom. colas are getting fat. have had to build some trellises for a few of the plants. spindly branches in stretch can't support the weight of the colas. blackberry kush was the greatest example of skipping arm day during training.
important tip = blackberry kush didn't seem to respond well to the LST, but making up for it by putting on a flower show. IMPRESSIVE frost this early in flower.
both purple kush plants were similarly affected despite their hard work in the weight room to strengthen branches, the weight of the tallest colas are just too much for them to hold up. regardless, they are hungry and want to fight so letting them scrap. of the two, the kannabia is putting on some lovely deep purple hues to the sugar leaves and calyxes. GET SOME! blimburn PK isn't quite so pretty but more than makes up in early frost formation. it may yet change colors, just not seeing any sign of it yet, while kannabia is proud to display the purple bruising from sparring.

BUUUUGGGSSS! this year, i thought i was having a hard time with spidermites (do these things EVER go the f*ck away?!) and then caterpillars trying to cuccoon themselves into the colas (nope! GTFO!) little did i know another army was waiting and watching from the treelines... thrips. thrips decided to join the fight about 2 weeks ago after my last set of nice lush green plant photos. never dealt with thrips before. i thought it was another spidermite infestation... but i had never seen spidermites move from plant to plant this quickly or in such numbers. strangely enough, they moved in the night i sprayed with captain jacks deadbug brew (spinosad). next day initially i thought the spots on fan leaves were residue from the spray. the next day there were more spots on more plants, started to think it was spidermites again. asked around here on the forums. nope. thrips. well, good news is that EVERYTHING has been eradicated, and that spinosad seems to work quite well. i have been pulling leaves and checking with the magnifying glass every day since first spray. ZERO bug activity. no bodies. no eggs. just the damage they did on first wave. days later, seems plant has healed a bunch of the lesser spots but unable to heal the major damage. seems there is mixed reviews on spinosad and it's use on ganj despite it being an organic product. this is my first time using it, and am impressed with its results after years of limited success with DIY organic remedies.
my mind is still not made up if i will continue to use this product up to harvest. i'm thinking to spray only twice with this and then continue with my tried and true organic DIYs to prevent re-infestation and mold/mildew preventatives as well. rainy season coming, i expect the spinosad will wash off by harvest time (says lasts up to 4 weeks, but less with rain or overhead irrigation).

RIP Godfather... problem child plant. i took some advice after last posting and decided to give the plant some TLC and do my best to nurse it back in the right direction. i agreed... don't want all my hard work to go to waste. did it for about a week, every day, picked out the dead, removed lower larfy branches... and just watched it all go brown/crispy again like it has been for months despite temperatures falling to 90's and 80's F. it doesn't even look like a ganj plant anymore. it dropped all it's fan leaves and looks like one of those disney world topiaries that they carve into animal shapes. just looks like a cartoon animal bush. *shakes head*. does it even have buds anymore? not that i can tell. it's sticky when i pick dead sh*t out of it... it kinda smells like weed a little bit... but thats about it. doesn't look like it anymore. doesn't look smokeable. save it for extracts/edibles? WHY? looks more problem than worth. so RIP godfather... i doubt i'll try growing you outdoors again. and it'll be a while before i try you out inside (despite you being on "the list").
i gave godfather it's last top dressing at the beginning of the month. no more ferts. they aren't being put to good use. your momento mori has arrived.

OG KUSH
humboldt OG Kush - i have to admit, i am super impressed. first set of humboldt seeds i've grown. i was completely unimpressed with the way this plant handled it's veg and was wondering why so much hype surrounded humboldt. the plant seemed to be lagging, seemed spindly. it is absolutely born again HARD in stretch and flower. i am amazed at how many colas this plant is producing and how fat they are getting. surprises... in a GOOD way.

PURPLE KUSH
at this point seedsman critical purple kush is in a race all it's own . in comparison to the other two purple kush plants, this thing is CLEARLY on steroids. don't even bother with the drug testing. this pee will be so hot, it will melt the cup. structure is completely different. node spacing, leaves, etc. it's putting on an impressive amount of weight. might need some support.
kannabia and blimburn are battling hard. kannabia has produced more colas for sure and are actually turning purple. what blimburn lacks in volume and color, it's making up for in king kong colas and early frostiness. both plants are healthy and legitimately battling it out. they both need more time though.

BUBBA KUSH
barney's farm BK - have never grown, seen or smoked this strain before.. so was wondering why people hyped it up. it's growth in veg and flower had been "meh" unimpressive... and i've been tending it with care and wanting it to succeed. up until this last week, it has remained unimpressive. this week, it has flipped some switch and decided to get hard. the colas are packing it on and it's starting to put off some scents. this is going to be one thicc b!tch. renewed fandom ensues.

ADDITIONAL KUSH
blimburn blackberry kush - this plant has had some impressive amounts of frost going on for the last few weeks. this will certainly be the first harvest as it is the most advanced in flower. got pretty strong scents forming (don't ask me to go all sommelier - i suck at that sh*t.) it's biggest drawback as mentioned above was it's spindly branches unable to hold the weight of it's massive colas. required some trellising. it wasn't going to cross the finish line otherwise. rainy/windy season coming.

blimburn purple bubba kush - this one has had some issues with thrips, but is bouncing back. just kinda bummed as it was pristine and pretty 2 weeks ago. despite it's problems it is growing some very tall colas. little bit of scent coming in. excited to see if it's going to throw an purple colors.

ADDITIONAL PARTICIPANTS
blimburn Godfather OG - RIP you were not strong enough for the texas sun. shrivel in shame.
barney's farm strawberry lemonade - this one is shaping up nice. i'm not a big fan of growing sativas, but this one was manageable. i have yet to grow something sh*tty from barney's farm. always solid performers. good flavor and potency.
blimburn silver surfer haze - this one looks like it's going to be a late finisher. it is packing on the bud sites, but it's moving slower than all the rest. a sativa dom doing it's sativa sh*t.
GOG candyland - i have high hopes for this one. it got really badly chewed by the thrips. this one ~was~ my garden showcase plant. best structure, always super healthy... it took a beating. it's healed what it can - much like emperor palpatine it was left scarred and deformed... but still strong and in the fight. it is developing some nice fat colas, but did not do the massive branch long donkey-dick colas like i thought it was going to.
2020Mendocino The Spice! - this guy got snapped by one of the dogs... duct taped the branch back together and crossed fingers. the branch lived by dropped all it's fans in the repair process. the buds forming are a bit on the lanky side on the damaged branch. the rest are coming in, but goinging slower like with super silver haze.
NEW ADDITION:
shoreline grandaddy purple - this plant took a beating from spidermites, almost died, fought it's way back to life with some TLC and is now producing some nice colas and getting some purple color. so grateful this one lived. GDP is crucial to my patient. a testament to the vigor of shoreline's genetics IMO. i have a bunch of his stuff saved aside for when the strain hunt is over.

now on to the photos. took individual shots this time as i would finish insecticide spray and liquid fert (alaska fish fert) session. one shot of overall plant and a closeup of some of the colas.

Photo Set 1 - Blimburn Godfather OG
what has this plant become? it no longer looks like ganj IMO.

KUSH OFF UPDATE: MID SEPTEMBER - PART 2

continuing with photos. breakdown and descriptions in part 1 above.

Photo Set 5 - Humboldt OG Kush
i was "meh" on this plant until now. didn't understand the hype behind humboldt. now i do, and humbly stand corrected. knowing a bit more about breeding now (thanks schwaggy p for that awesome thread) and understanding what all goes into getting something to F5 level i have newfound respect for what this plant represents. also excited to know i have several MORE humboldt seeds in my possession of various strains. they will be making more appearances in future grows for certain.
hmbt-ogk-1a.jpg
hmbt-ogk-1b.jpg

Photo Set 6 - Barney's Farm Bubba Kush
another plant i was wondering what the hype was. it's veg was slow and kind of underwhelming. it started flower and i was expecting a great show. have been rooting for this one as i have NEVER had a bad grow with barney's farm. it took it's sweet time, but NOW it is showing some impressive fattening up. smells pretty nice too.
bf-bk-1a.jpg
bf-bk-1b.jpg

Photo Set 7 - Blimburn Purple Bubba Kush
was my 2nd prettiest plant of the garden until the thrips. b@stards f*cked this one up BAD. but despite the damages it's still producing some branch long, donkey-dick colas and putting off some nice scents. frosting up nicely. wondering if there will be color change... not seeing any purple yet
blim-pbk-1a.jpg
blim-pbk-1b.jpg

Photo Set 8 - Blimburn Blackberry Kush
this one decided to skip arm days at the gym. can't hold up it's big, heavy, frosty, stinky colas. required a trellis be made. will probably be the first to be harvested as it's far more advanced along in flowering than the rest.

KUSH OFF UPDATE: MID SEPTEMBER - PART 3

continuing with photos. breakdown and descriptions in part 1 above.

Photo Set 9 - Garden of Green Candyland
i have had high hopes for this plant for my patient. it has not disappointed to this point. it was in my opinion the prettiest/showcase plant of the garden. so healthy, beautiful structure... then the thrips came and ravaged this plant. it healed some of it's wounds and continues to produce fat colas, but the thrips left scars. regardless, still anticipating great things from candyland.
gog-candyland-1a.jpg
gog-candyland-1b.jpg

Photo Set 10 - Barney's Farm Strawberry Lemonade
have been ambivalent about this plant. it is on "the list" for my patient, but it's a sativa and i'm not a fan of growing sativas. this one has been manageable and has given me no troubles whatsoever. i had certain expectations of it being from barney's farm and it has lived up to it's expectations. until now it has been unremarkable. now it is showing some frosty flowers and peaking my interest.
bf-stl-1a.jpg
bf-stl-1b.jpg

Photo Set 11 - Shoreline Grandaddy Purple
GDP is an essential strain for my patient. when this sucker got hit with spidermites in the indoor space, i was concerned we were going to run out of stash. this trooper survived the mites, multiple treatments and left for dead out in the sun after being under lights. it bounced back so i gave it some TLC. now it is producing some lovely colas and changing colors. testament to shoreline's genetics. very happy that we will have some fresh GDP to top off the dwindling supply.
shln-gdp-1a.jpg

Photo Set 14-1 - Blimburn Silver Surfer Haze
sativa dom doing sativa stuff. showing flower, but taking it's sweet f*cking time. :\
has been a very healthy plant the entire grow. liked the sun and heat. fared well against pest infestations. still healthy. just taking forever. i have heard a lot of hype about super silver haze. never smoked it. looking forward to it... whenever it decides to finish. hope it works for patient as well... it's on "the list".

nothing wrong with a little competition. toss in some fun comparisons and some ball busting jokes and you've got a winner thread.
when listing out my strains on deck for the 2023 outdoor season, blueberryrose made the comment it might be cool to see comparisons of all the kush strains i'm growing. i had not considered other's interests as such, then thought it might be cool to have others join in and show off their contenders as well.
so... let's get started.
for the record i am all organic soil (growing medicine) using a mix of dr.earth and giai green dry amendments and occasional uses of alaska fish fertilizer between dry amendment top dressings. soil is my own mix based off build a soil's recipe minus the rice hulls and substituting coco choir for peat moss.
*EDIT - before the haters come*
i am also only using seeds in my possession. yes i am sure there are other breeders/strains out there that blow my selections away. i am well aware of this, but that's not the point. just trying to have a little competition/fun with the "best" of what i've got. (but if you STILL have something better, feel free to send me some. ;-) )
= = = = =

ladies and gentleman. it's time for your first bout of the evening for the title of best OG Kush. *crowd cheers*
out of the red corner - this newcomer is a limited edition and not for resale. fighting out of Seedsman, England, put your hands together for Limited Edition OG Kush!
out of the blue corner - this contender needs no introduction. fighting out of Humbolt Seed Co, USA put your hands together for OG Kush!
View attachment 5274946

ladies and gentleman - it's now time for your second bout of the evening for the title of best Bubba Kush.
out of the red corner - this contender is up and coming but has several noteworthy victories. fighting out of Seedsman, England, out your hands together for pre-'98 Bubba Kush!
out of the blue corner - this contender is well known and has the skills to pay the bills. fighting out of Barney's Farm, Netherlands, put your hands together for Bubba Kush!
View attachment 5274949

ladies in gentleman. it is now time for our main event of the evening. a bitter three way cage deathmatch. three men enter, one man leaves. for the title of best Purple Kush.
in the red corner, fighting out of Seedsman England, put your hands together for Critical Purple Kush!
in the blue corner, fighting out of Blimburn, Spain, put your hands together for Purple Kush!
in the orange corner, fighting out of Kannabia, Spain, put your hands together for Purple Kush!

Last, but certainly not least, we have some warmup/exhibition bouts where no suitable contenders showed up to challenge for the belts, so the fighters who did show up will be forced to fight themselves for the title:
- Blackberry Kush from Garden of Green, Ireland
- Purple Bubba Kush from Blimburn, Spain

who are your contenders this year? post below and let the kush rumble begin!
I had what was called insane OG no package just couple seeds

Just like to read posts,
looks OG busy.
was that your only strain this year, or did it have some competition?
No competition competition with myself I guess. I grew two of the same strain. First time cloning, with success. This is my most eventful year with issues. However it looks like I will be a satisfied grower hey everyone that photo was old I will send a new one in the morning. I was fighting p.m. probably that week 7.20230922_160654.jpg

KUSH OFF UPDATE: 02 OCTOBER - PART1

in bloom, performance enhancing strains, temps not really dropping

everything outside is still in bloom. starting to get some scents. blackberry kush is LOUD. i like it tho. smells good. candyland smelling sweet, OG Kush starting to gas up, kannabi has a most interesting scent. can't really place it. floral? incense? not sure, but it's pleasant.

seedsman critical purple kush is putting on the most dense buds i have grown to date. it's also a hungry b!tch. been scrambling to get the right fert mix. i think i caught up in time. still blown away by this roided out beast. branches still keeping up these ridiculous colas on top of colas on top of colas. i guess topping till the end of july paid off. i'm sure it's nothing to a lot of you... but it's amazing to me. so fat.

temps still not really classic "fall" yet. still in the high 90's. was 98F today. probably 101F in the sun. got a nice shady tree to work under. any strains that may have been dependent on low temps are going to disappoint. meh. give me good flavor and potency and we'll call it even. and also hopefully one or two of y'all will be a fit for abuela.

on to the photos.

KUSH OFF UPDATE: 04 OCT 23 - FIRST TO FINISH

we have a winner of the "first to finish" award. that honor goes to:

Blimburn - Blackberry Kush! (crowd cheers)

thought i might be able to go till the weekend with this, but then realized i'm going to be f*cked in trim jail for quite some time with this harvest so want to space out drying and trimming. this one was close enough to pull early and get a start on the drying/curing.
this one had some of the fattest colas, but weakest branches. required trellis long before the colas started putting on the pounds.

the two largest king kong buds were pretty heavy. they smell really nice too. hands were very sticky from a gentle bud wash before hanging to dry.

well done blimburn blackberry kush. you made the cut.

ribbons won. champagne popped. ring girls kissed...
pruning shears ready.

KUSH OFF UPDATE: 04 OCT 23 - SECOND TO FINISH
goes to: Blimburn Purple Kush!

this was a real close toss up between this one, seedsman critical purple kush and barney’s farm bubba kush.

deciding factor was yellowed leaves. this one was just slightly more mature. 5-10% ambers. again, i’m ok with this. my dry process is pretty 3rd world as well. hang in the master closet which has an AC vent blowing into it. consistently the most cool/dark place in the house. because it’s still 90F+ and low RH, i figure my dry is going to take about 4-5 days. 6 tops. AC still running most of the day.

plant produced some long colas. not super fat, but certainly respectable. i’ll take it. very floral smell to it. we’ll see how it works. hope it does.
