So, the DarkKing and I decided to go off the grid.
I have been working for huge companies all my career and it was a rather huge step to divert my mind towards a home-based self-sustainable growing business. Freaking daunting to say the least..

I grew up on a farm and somehow that must have stuck within my psyche - because I am LOVING this.
There is something so satisfying and amazing playing a part in growing something from seed to harvest.

Especially the first time.

We invested some time ago in a fully set up system, all the bells and whistles.
BUT.. when we eventually set sail it was to a beautiful Oceanside home with unfortunately a VERY limited indoor growing area.

So, we went gung-ho. Properly.
Broke stuff down built stuff blocked stuff exposed stuff.
Cut up grow tents thay were too big and lined the room, snaked the ducting, managed to balance light, heat and humidity, lucky to have rain water which we super-nute and balance.

I will be sure to post the Grow Diary I have been keeping but for now, here's a brief idea of the adventure:

We originally started with Velvet Bud seeds which we really experimented with, not knowing how the hell we were going to do it.
It was the start of winter, grow room not set up yet and we had them mostly outside in the first 6 weeks of growth.
We then bought some Alien OG Kush Auto which were finally able to go full throttle in our space-limited indoors auto-pot set-up.

The DarkKing is my guru and advisor working abroad frequently and I run the show from home base.
Together we plot, plan and gippo via Skype and I am so pleased to say that it's really going well.

Right now, almost 9 weeks later we are proud to have going:

9 x Alien OG Kush (started with 20 seeds - was a challenging germination)
Stage - 9 weeks and in flower

5 x Velvet Buds (two of them, massive plants, transplanted two days ago into 100 litres fabric pots)

24 x Velvet Bud Clones (seem to all be taking)

22 x Alien OG Kush Clones (seem to all be taking)

19 x Blue Cheese seedlings from harvested seed (Week 2)

Equipment and Growing Aids (without going into too much detail)

Gravita Pro FLEX LED Lighting
Hydor Extractor Fans with Ducting
Home Humidifier (we're lucky to have a good result here)
Gravitas Masters EL2 Controller
One bad-ass Carbon Filter
Full Auto-Pot System
In-pot Air Domes (highly recommended)
Guts
Love

Coco / Perlite Mix (Indoor)
Volcanic Clay Pebbles
PH Up and PH Down from GrowGuru
EHG Micro
EHG Bloom
Rain Water (balanced and nutrified)
PH Between 6.3 and 6.5
Starting PPM - 900
Current PPM (mature plants 5-9 weeks) sitting on a massive 2400 (zero nutrient burn and BOOMING plants and buds)

So this is briefly our story.
And it's never over until the fat lady sings.
We have the OG Kush drying and curing process which awaits next and those buds are just growing growing...
Watching the pistels and trichomes like a hawk!

As the DarkKing says, what you put in is what you get out.
And a WHOLE lot of love has gone into these babies.

My biggest lesson and best advice to date?..
WATCH your plants. All the time.
They will show you what they need.

Don't give up. Keep on growing.
