im actually not all that surprised to see osram's low bin 660nm beating cree's top bin 730nm.... hard to beat physics

the top bin 730 nm osrams are 3S4S bin, min 201 mW flux @ 650 mW dissipation
vs group 12 crees, min 250 mW flux @ 665 mW dissipation

winner cree, esp since i dont know anyone that makes solderless osram stars

Hi HG
What drive current do you want to run them at?
Cheers
Mark
I apologize but I'm not sure exactly I'm completely new to this stuff and will gladly take your recommendation. I'm only going to run them for 10 mins at lights out so I'm assuming that they can be ran soft but please feel free to correct me. I'll be adding them to the mau5 kits, 8 cobs in a 3x4 space at 18-24 inches away from the canopy to give you an idea of what I intend to use them for. Again I apologize and appreciate any help while I go thru this learning curve

Hey all I need a little help does anyone have a link for a website that I can go to that will help me understand how to choose a driver for the far red that I was looking at in the last few post I put up, I've been trying to research as much as I can and some of this stuff is starting to make sense but I'm still having trouble with a lot of it. I really appreciate it thanks in advance

Have a watch of this it may help. It's Growmau's 730nm emitter build and should help you out somewhat.

I have a cut of Juicy Fruit that won't quit....I call it stretch, gets like 12 feet outside when others are half that size and puts the weight on from its hybrid genes. Come to Oregon. Been running it a year now...more of the Delta Thai on the pheno...one of the most pungent Sat hybrids i have smelled :peace:
I witness a 27 oz juicy fruit once great plant to grow

Most Far Red leds run at 700mA. mean well as a 700mA driver just for this the lpc-35-700 ->http://www.rapidled.com/mean-well-lpc-35-700-constant-current-driver/ peace

So do I have this correct? Far Reds on 15 minutes before lights are off and then 15 minutes after main cobs go out
IR on for only up to 4 to 5 hours a day but you have to slowly build up to that point with maybe doing 1 hour for a couple of weeks and increasing from that point on.
Royal blues can be on during main cobs cycle.......they can be on 24 hours during veg and then when flowering on off with main cobs.

one more question that i have is what is the draw back for UV its the plant defense mechanism for a plant burn
but what are you giving up absorption rate due to the increased trichs on the plants leaves just thinking about that

All correct except for far red. You only want 10-15 mins TOTAL. I do 5 mins on before mains turn off lasting 10 more minutes on after main lights turn off.

I just extended my far red from 15 min before lights out\after lights on to 45 min for a total of one hour at sunset and one hour at sunrise. not necessary, but felt my overall lighting could handle more far reds and not stretch too much.

I use Far Red for 30 minutes after lights out. I run IR full on 12 hour, and Deep Red 12 hours, as well. I run Royal blue 12 hours, and COB's 12 hours. RB at 9w/SF and COB's at 25W/SF. peace
