The Chinese Quantum Board Knock Off Builds

It depends on how long you wanna run them. So 10w for a 4x4? My rough math makes at 10w you should run them for around 150 seconds, 2-3 mins. Its been a long day so dont ask me for the math...
Thanks rocket, I’ll start with that and see how they work out.

Thanks man! I did it so I didn’t pop the 15a fuse on the circuit. Meanwell recommends 2 hlg-240h drivers max per 16a circuit due to a large inrush current upon start up. Offsetting the lights on times allow the inrush to be managed by the circuit one at a time.
2 240's Max all the time? Cause I've always had 4 on a 20A, plus 300w of veg lights, 2 chillers, fans etc. and never had any problems.

She’s dooooooooone! Everything wired up, boards programmed to turn on 1 min apart from each other. Still waiting on amazon to get my fourth timer for the 730 strips. I’ve dimmed then all the way down. I’ll only be using them for lights off treatment.

I also configured the drivers to allow the dimmers to be all front facing and easily accessible. The build went pretty easily, just my ocd kicking in delayed the task a little lol.

What drivers are going to what on there?

3 240’s, never on max though, it’s the inrush that trips the circuit. Meanwell says 4 on a 230v circuit is no problem.

Inrush current ripping mcb can be combated by using a different type of mcb. In the UK these types are Type B (Normal) Type C allows a higher inrush current for 0.1 sec....Type D Allows an even higher start up current. These were originally designed for motors and the like but led's produce exactly the same problem especially in numbers....
You do not change the amp rating eg if its 6 amp you replace with 6 amp just different "Type" same manufacturer as well so it fits fuseboard properly.

A little heads up: led-tech.de have got samsung lm301bs in 2700k 90cri, available in strips and boards. Anyone interested? If so i advice to not sleep too much on it cause i know their stock is at least half gone, a friend bought it. Im not in this time cause the storm left me barescraped with urgent house repairs needed and i also got some blux coming in with that spectrum.
Just a heads up....

Yeah I’ve read about that too, I have fuses in my place so it would pretty much just be changing out the current ultra fast trip fuse with a time delay. This method allows me to keep the same ultra fast trip while being able to use all the PSU on the same circuit.

Ok i have read the first 20 pages and the last 10 pages in this thread and still am a bit lost.
So i have a 2 x 4 x 6 foot tall tent that i will be using as a veg and flower tent.
my budget is 150-200 bucks.
I think the running soft with an extra board would be best.
what would be the best group of parts to build a light for my use.
Currently i am running 2 300w burple lights 6 weeks into a grow and things look ok.
I can assemble and wire the components myself.

If you want to have the ability to push the tents max I would say to go for a dimmable 320w qb288 kit from Ali. I’ve been pretty happy with King Brite’s service and quality. If it’s going to be your all in one tent I would say to go for 3500k but 3000k would work as well. Considering you’re limited in height to 6 feet the 3500k would help limit plant height.

In terms of diode configurations, all of them will work but it depends what works best for you and your grow.

Indeed. 4 of them on a 240 driver should be enough, no heatsink needed according to hlg. Id put them on some backing alusheet, maybe 2 separate sheets for being ablle to play with heights. My best bet is that 4 of hlgs 561cs would be similar in efficiency to a standard ali 2 board lm301b fixture on the same driver. In this case id probably go for HLG for many reasons.
