The Chinese Quantum Board Knock Off Builds

Fuck I didn't even think about that shit. I was planning on making an order for my veg lights week. Are they not shipping out right now or something?
I think KB and most businesses are off until Feb 2. China has a 2 week holiday right now for Chinese New Years. I’m just saying if this corona virus picks up speed in China, who knows what will be open or what services will be affected. Colds viruses can last up to 7 days on non porous surfaces, flu viruses last up to 24 hours. Realistically I don’t think anyone could get sick from a package like the Osaka flu on the simpsons. Although the simpsons seems to have a solid track record of predicting shit lol.

Youtube greengenes garden and its the last video as per today, my best bet its aomewhere after the 15 min mark. He also brings up another difference in the flux binning: 301b is binned per lumens and 301h is binned by ppf/w. This might have some relevance to growers who are chasing photons, not luminousity (how bright they are) as the spectrum comes into play.

Cool thx. I believe Steven did mention the binning as well, that all H series are automatically top bin. Again though, China....

Thanks RB, lots of good info in that Vid.
He gives his thoughts on the new Mars lights at 15:50. ;-)

She’s dooooooooone! Everything wired up, boards programmed to turn on 1 min apart from each other. Still waiting on amazon to get my fourth timer for the 730 strips. I’ve dimmed then all the way down. I’ll only be using them for lights off treatment.

I also configured the drivers to allow the dimmers to be all front facing and easily accessible. The build went pretty easily, just my ocd kicking in delayed the task a little lol.

Awesome build man. I love the idea of having the lights coming on like that.
Thanks man! I did it so I didn’t pop the 15a fuse on the circuit. Meanwell recommends 2 hlg-240h drivers max per 16a circuit due to a large inrush current upon start up. Offsetting the lights on times allow the inrush to be managed by the circuit one at a time.

Smart. I was wondering why you didn't just go with 1 big driver.

I just like the idea of waking and putting the plants to sleep.

I have 4 cobs come on 15minutes before my boards. And it runs 30 minutes after the boards turn off.

This run will determine a lot. I’ll have to see what improvements will need to be made. I would like to add a uv bulb feature and some blues in the future. But this is more than enough to play with for the time being. Do too much at once and you’ll never know what made it better in the first place.

Congrats on finishing your build, many dont get that far. It looks sweet!

How did you figure out hanging/raising etc? And. How about thermals? Whats your heatsink temps like and what about ambient when you had it on for a few hours?

Looks like you left plenty of realestate to add far red and such.

Savour the feeling of "i built this" it beats that unboxing high 10 times over.

And tag me if you start a grow journal.

Thanks guys!, I’m excited to run some fun strains under this light. So far so good with thermals. The boards are only at about 50w a piece right now. Since the girls are used to about 200w I didn’t want to shock em too much. I’ll be upping the wattage by 20w per pair per week so as to have them at about 600w at week 5 and continue that until the end of flower.

The highest I’ve have found so far with my gun is 86 degrees f from the boards. I’ll know more when I get a chance to run them higher for longer. I have an 8 inch exhaust fan if needed by I’m currently running my 6 inch hyper fan at about 50%. Humidity is steady around 45% which is perfect for me for flower. This should be fun!

For hanging I’m lucky since my tent has 1” poles and three beefy support rods up top. My center rod going left and right supports my carbon filter and exhaust fan and the two other rods going forward and back support the light. I used 4 eye bolts on the fixture and each corner has its own rope pully.

I meant how do you reach or do you have access thru multiple sides?

What do you guys think for the strips power wise? Fully dimmed all four strips were drawing 7.9w together. I’m thinking of running it at 10w, 2.5w per strip per 2x2 for lights out treatment. The rapid led pucks run 7w and cover a 3x3.

It depends on how long you wanna run them. So 10w for a 4x4? My rough math makes at 10w you should run them for around 150 seconds, 2-3 mins. Its been a long day so dont ask me for the math...
