Thai Sativa Outdoor Scrog Grow

yup, like -20 N for me. gets bloody humid and hot. Sadly I'm in uni accom now and growing in a 3x3 and 3x1.6. Not quite the same, and the sativas outgrow the tents as soon as stretch starts. Luckily, it's a good climate for all year veggies though so there is a trade-off to the heat.

1 plant would be alright maybe be able to keep it under control but hate for it to turn out to be a male. Yes very good for growing year round depending on specific location and set-up. Heat's certainly a big issue. I'll be looking to raise my roof and open the space up a little more next grow. Plus I won't be growing directly into the ground from now on.
 
Dude that picture of the rats is wild! Never would I have thought they would get into the plants.. earlier this summer I had a bunch of mice in the shed and then one day they were just not there anymore. Ended up a snake family decided to move into the wood pile near the shed. Nothing like you experience in the jungle.

Termites too, of the all the things they could get they gotta come after your ladies, wtf!

Sorry things got crazy while you were away but sounds like you got things under control and back on track

Wild alright ay! Everything moves in so quick as we're proper in the jungle out here. Yeah I think the snakes wouldn't have been far off finding them if we hadn't come home a couple days early. My cats certainly would've had em soon if I didn't catch them first. I've never experienced termites to such a level until I moved to Thailand, they're in everything. I think my plant was just unlucky that the edge of their nest encroached onto the side of the stem as they were getting in out of the rain.

Yeah have got a bit of a lid back on it now...but will see how we go. Spraying some tricoderma whilst waiting to go pick up some bacillus amyloliquefaciens.

Well today was another bad day as I've had to cut the Cheese auto down due to some mold. All good, I'll remember the mistakes from this round for next year and I'll also pop another seed of Cheese now because I think she was going to come out a real treat if it wasn't for this non-stop rain with no periods of sun. She'll get a better go at it this time around I'd say as the rain will surely fu@k off soon. Here's the couple spots that I removed which prompted me to just take the entire plant down.

Looks like we're back on track as today was the first day it didn't rain all day for quite some time. I lost a fair bit coming through the wettest wet season we've had here in over 10yrs but i think the rain is wrapping up and winter is now rolling in, which is being well received. I do feel I still have much more than I'd anticipated I would have at this stage. The plants were very happy to receive about 9hrs of direct sunlight today. I gave them a hit of BT spray this afternoon as everything was all dried out from a full day in the sun. I plan to hit them with some bacillus amyloliquefaciens in a few days to help keep a lid on that leaf septoria from spreading, which actually doesn't seem to be spreading thanks to the tricoderma and from removing a lot of leaves.

Today's temps were 18°C in the morning and 29°C during the hottest part of the day, but the best bit was the 60% humidity after sitting above 80% for so long. Really glad to see the White Widow & West Coast seem to be having no issues with mold unlike their fallen comrade 'Cheese'. Cheers.
 
Chopped the West Coast OG auto this morning as she wasn't too happy about the leaf septoria and bud mold getting around due to this ongoing rain. Atleast she wasn't still covered in white pistils like the Cheese I cut down a couple weeks ago, which surprisingly gets me a little bent for a morning session, plus it tastes better than the Thai. This West Coast will be better I'm sure. I have left the White Widow auto growing at this stage as it's handling things a little better, still growing each day and has more bud and leaf to lose than the little baby West Coast OG did, fingers crossed she can go another 6wks. I've popped a few more seeds to see how this next outdoor growing period works out, I'd say it should be my best 3 months out of the whole year. Here's that West Coast OG auto, might get a few joints out of her haha. Cheers.

G'day, The White Widow auto is still hanging in there, if we get a few more sunny days like we did today she should end up alright come another 5wks.

The Thai scrog has had a hard time with this leaf septoria, everyday I'm removing any traces I find which is still in the early stages. I think if the rain stays away they may be able to make a come back and overcome it...The septoria definitely hasn't affected the 4month veg sativa plant (that's in a pot on it's own) in the same way that it's affected all of the other plants, can't say why exactly.

Now that the weather has changed and it's not so hot during the day the roof has started to provide another benefit alongside being a privacy screen, insect & rain barrier. It's now stopping the morning dew from settling on the plants which will be very helpful over the next few months. It's hard to take a decent picture of the scrog as I can't get directly above the plants, so it does look a little wild from the side view. I'd say it will start to look much nicer in 2wks once the buds fatten up a little. I moved the couple clones and the 6wk veg sativa plant outside the room as they weren't happy with the hot air being circulated on a few really hot days we had last week, I'll give them two weeks to settle into their new homes and then upload a pic of how they're progressing. I have a feeling they may end up being the best of the lot this season. Cheers.

G'day, Termites have taken out another plant, all good, still have 3 left in the scrog and 3 plants outside the scrog (clones taken from the scrog) all doing well enough. All photos look on track, hope to chop between chrissy & new years with any luck. I have knocked the leaf septoria on the head with the outdoor girls and was fighting the tail end of it in the scrog but after going away for a moto ride for a week it's started to get a foothold again but with any luck I'll get on top of it shortly. Humidity is much better now the rains been gone for a couple weeks. Mostly ranging between 35% - 65% and temperature floating between 15°c - 30°c Cheers.20221114_065948 (1).jpg20221114_070735.jpg
 
Looking amazing and green. You are basically living out my dream there as I have an incredibly soft spot for a nice sativa. Your White widow auto basically mirrors my results with autos outdoors as well. Either have to pull early due to rot, or just end up with 1.5 Oz plants in general due to the short days. Still fun though. This is probably the best I've done with an auto outside and it was a BCN critical/Laos highland cross I mated to a Kazak ruderalis for fun. Had to come down a bit early due to humid weather.

Currently have a Nepalese sativa going indoors and it looks like every other average sativa dom hybrid I've grown indoors, not at all like a good landrace or the loas I have grown. Nice thin leaves though, and the main fans had 11 fingers by the 6th node.

Your little spot looks heavenly. Now if only you could politely tell nature to move on and selectively ignore certain sections in your garden. Hope you cop a break eventually.

Hello Everyone, we are also new and from Thailand.

So, YES, we do successful verging outdoors in Chiang rai.
rh at night 95%. Day even 30%. Both sativas and indicas are doing well but It only works for us with careful IPM program. I dont see how weed would grow in such a harsh conditions without constant war with insects and fungi in such environment. Maybe yes but very risky.

And yeah,we put them on full sun from about 9am-4pm then move pots on a deck, under roof where we have a corner with TSL2000 and fans blowing on canopies. And I'm in coco. Zero organic matter/fertilizers in pots and on entire property. Just one orange tree and lawn kept clean from pests as much as possible.

The only problem I had lately was algy. They will form instantly if you leave pots standing in water in such a heat or fully wet even in coco.

So, yeah, it works and its something we are testing out - Its nice to have a solid collection of well established veging plants which you can move into a blooming room right away at any time it gets free :)

BTW. Its winter now, there is max 5 hours a day time when temps are over 33 C, the rest of the day and night falls in range of 20-30. Real problem IMO is huge rH fluctuations along with tropical fauna being a Hilton for the most unwelcome guests you can imagine.

Where are you based in TH?

Same here... Chop it early or say hi to gray mold!
We run 4 autos strains autdoor except having them indoor first 3 weeks when raining season was still raging.

1. Hulkbery Auto RQS - 70% sativa.
Didn't like this one. Short, v bushy, challanging to keep her in shape.
End result? Molded!

2. Purple Lemonade auto (Fast buds)
The fastest auto I have ever seen.
And we are talking 75% Indica dominant which surprisingly loved thai sun.
Results. Also mold but late and we had to chop few suspected colas to make sure not to lose everything.

3. Purple punch auto (Barney's farm).
This one stands out so much from the 2 above. Its near 100% sativa with v long flowering.
Its some 13 weeks in flower no mold.
Will definitely go for her again as its very resistant and grows v well in Thailand.
