Testing your run off

Just a silly idea but has anyone ever sent their run off to get tested for mineral content? I mean sending you run off to a place that tests drinking water?
I reuse my soil and I was thinking this might be a way to get you ferts back on track with out a super long fallow period and or a really big rinse.
As of now I am just sorta guessing and using my ph and ppm meter to get an over all idea what is going on in my soil.
Wouldn't it be nice to know exactly what is in your dirt?

So how about it? Anyone ever send in a sample for testing?

cannot say I have. I do water samples for my work regularly though and in Michigan all these test can add up in cost. how about just sending the soil out for testing?
mix all soil together well, take a few samples and send off to lab or university of your choice. should be as much or less then water testing and give you a better idea of what's in the soil.

That is a fair idea as well.

I wouldn't think you would need to do a lot of tests you would just need a sort of base line , so you would know what is generally left over. One you have done the test say 2-3 times assuming you get similar results you can assume that you will continue to get similar results going forward
