Switching Bulbs

I am currently using a Philips agro-lite BR30 to grow what is now only one plant about a foot tall. I am finally feed up with watching my plant reach and get heat stress so I have decided to purchase a better bulb(s). After doing some research I found a 150W Equivalent Daylight (6500K) Spiral CFL Light Bulb that looks like it will do the trick. I am planning on getting a couple to start as the plant that needs light isn't that big yet. Any suggestions on weather or not I am getting the right bulb, keeping in mind I don't want to spend too much money or use to much electricity which is why I chose to go with a cfl. The lay out of my grow area is eventually going to be three plants each taking up about a square foot of space.

spending 50$ on a bulb is out of my price range right now, will the bulb that I mentioned work well enough?

Your 150w E is probably 40w actual. If you did 3 of those bulbs, you'd be ok. IMO, you'd still be spending the same amount for fixtures and bulbs.

The bulb is $25. The reflector/socket is $25.

The light you mentioned is not going to nearly be enough for even one plant. Let alone 3 plants. Using 3 of those lights youd be lucky to get an ounce of usable bud. Invest in something thats gonna be worth your time and effort. Hate to be the bearer of bad news.

Spend $50 and get a reflector/socket/cord with a 125w (actual) CFL bulb.
This. Then the flower bulb later (get the 250w y not, ya got the fixture)

Take it from someone whos done it, ad owns 4 of them cheapy CFL wing reflectors and 2 250w flower bulbs.... (for my auto flowering)

Lights, and fans.... these 2 items you do NOT go cheap on, and you don't try to grow until you have them.

Don't make plants before you make the sun exist.... Get a real light, and never ever (ever) again pay attention to "equivalent" bullshit.... its like a 60w bulb....

great thanks! I am ordering one right now. Is a 4 inch fan good enough for a couple plants? Also does it matter what direction the fan is in?

Good enough. I have one blowing across three plants, but my space is small (2'x2'). Blows horizontal across the top of the plants.

how often do you spray water on your leaves? I have been keeping the plant at 70-75 degrees with a humidity level of 45-57% are these numbers ok? and if not what can i do to help reach the correct numbers

my plant unfortunately went through some major stretching as I was learning about the importance of having the right light, now that i have the right light set up there are some small leaves that are a lot lower than the leaves that are close to the light, is it worth it to leave those smaller lower leaves or should i get rid of them. I am talking about the first two sets of leaves as the third and fourth set are a lot bigger and are much closer to the light.

also i have just noticed that on one of the leaves the very tip looks like it is drying out (it's yellow), is this because the light is too close, the plant is getting too hot, not enough water, or the ph of the feed is too high?

I have a 125w cfl that was an inch and now is two inches way from the leaves, i am feeding it half strength pure blend pro without ph up (i also dont know the ph of the feed + water mix yet) which should come in the mail today
