I am currently using a Philips agro-lite BR30 to grow what is now only one plant about a foot tall. I am finally feed up with watching my plant reach and get heat stress so I have decided to purchase a better bulb(s). After doing some research I found a 150W Equivalent Daylight (6500K) Spiral CFL Light Bulb that looks like it will do the trick. I am planning on getting a couple to start as the plant that needs light isn't that big yet. Any suggestions on weather or not I am getting the right bulb, keeping in mind I don't want to spend too much money or use to much electricity which is why I chose to go with a cfl. The lay out of my grow area is eventually going to be three plants each taking up about a square foot of space.

The light you mentioned is not going to nearly be enough for even one plant. Let alone 3 plants. Using 3 of those lights youd be lucky to get an ounce of usable bud. Invest in something thats gonna be worth your time and effort. Hate to be the bearer of bad news.

Take it from someone whos done it, ad owns 4 of them cheapy CFL wing reflectors and 2 250w flower bulbs.... (for my auto flowering)
Lights, and fans.... these 2 items you do NOT go cheap on, and you don't try to grow until you have them.
Don't make plants before you make the sun exist.... Get a real light, and never ever (ever) again pay attention to "equivalent" bullshit.... its like a 60w bulb....

Fan is important to clear the heat, or any hot spots, right above the canopy. Also, to make the branches stronger because they're trying to grow in the breeze. AND just simple circulation so the air doesn't get stale. Small 4" fan will do.

my plant unfortunately went through some major stretching as I was learning about the importance of having the right light, now that i have the right light set up there are some small leaves that are a lot lower than the leaves that are close to the light, is it worth it to leave those smaller lower leaves or should i get rid of them. I am talking about the first two sets of leaves as the third and fourth set are a lot bigger and are much closer to the light.
