No disrespect intended by asking this, but what is the advantage of CO2 extraction vs just pressing the buds in a rosin press...not the hair straightener stuff... a real rosin press?. Is CO2 extraction for making that really liquid stuff for vapor pens and the like? What am I not understanding?
My buddy was looking at the super c. The apeks units have s lot of upset users. Now my buddy is looking at a rosin press. Which....I think would be better. But I want both. Just cause

@BM9AGS why are people not happy with apeks? I have run several of their units and a few other manufacturers units over the years and don't see why people hate apeks/c02 its a wonderful solvent imho.

I've never seen a positive review on the small units. Sure their website has them but I mean from users on forums.

tabletop units? I completely forgot they had them. you did see the post about the fresh terps we make at work? that's apeks. now granted that's not the table top system so I guess if I was using something 100% smaller and the yield was 100% smaller then yeah it would most likely not be worth it.

I find CO2 ideal for making cartridge oil personally. Lot of people seem to be into the cartridges these days. I know of several large scale processors that run multiple SuperC's strictly for batch testing. Many times processors have got burnt on running material that passes initial testing, but then once the material was ran things like pesticides and fertilizers start showing up. Usually after a processor takes a hit on a 20 liter run they look into some sort of insurance policy to prevent such a loss in the future.

its called trim and processing agreements. they sign if it comes back hot they still have to pay for everything. they don't want to sign you don't buy the trim/bud or process for them.

Apeks SCFE for sale. We are upgrading our extraction lab and have a low hour 2000/5L for sale. Unable to upload photos now due to this sites problems today but, I can go over the system with anyone seriously looking to acquire one. We've had nothing but good things to say about Apeks as you can see from my other post. We['re happy with the system and performance but are looking to get a larger system and experiment with some alcohol extraction. PM me if you're interested and we can discuss. System is a little more than 2 years old, impeccably maintained, pump rebuilt recently and includes all of the standard supplies. We are able to provide training at a reduced rate. We consult with operations in PA, OH, NV, OR, HI and CA. Thanks

Hello everyone. I came across this thread and wanted to reply to a couple of concerns that have been addressed about the SuperC. I work at OCO Labs and also use the SuperC to process my personal concentrates. We have not run into any issues with user safety on our equipment. The SupersC has a pressure switch that will shut the system down once it reaches a pressure of 4500psi. If for some reason the operator were to turn the system on and walk away from it, the system would safely shut down once reaching 4500psi. As well, we have installed an industry standard burst-disk on the rear of the central air block. If the system were to ever reach a pressure of 7000psi the disk will burst and the system will no longer hold any pressure. I have yet to hear of, or see a system that has reached a high enough pressure to cause the burst-disk to burst.
Recently I had to replace a set of seals "O-Rings" on my personal SuperC. I had well over 500 hours on my seals for the compressor. On the Expansion-Kit, I've noticed if the seals are kept clean they can last up to 200 plus hours. Changing the seals on the expansion kit is very easy and probably only takes 10 minutes or so, but they will not last as long as the seals on the base compressor in my experience. As long as the operator keeps the machine lubricated with the correct lubricant, the seals should last much longer than 100 hours on the base SuperC. I tend to run my SuperC with Expansion-Kit 4 days a week at 12 hour intervals. I try to stop the system every two hours briefly to lubricate the felt pads with liquid coconut oil (not the kind that solidifies at room temperature). Keeping these felt pads that rest on the pistons lubricated helps me to only have to replace seals every few months.
Everything FadeDawg said about the capabilities of a passive CO2 extraction system is correct. However the SuperC uses a patented dual syringe piston compressor to gain pressure. Many users often turn the heating element off to pick up fewer waxes during their extractions. The SuperC can be operated up to 4500psi with the heating element off should the operator choose. Each displacement of the pistons will create friction and thus some heat though. I guess you could call a run with no heat on the SuperC a "near critical" run, but currently our systems are not set up to run sub-critical.
I saw another comment in this thread about possible corrosion of some of the aluminum parts on the SuperC.. We do use aluminum on several parts of the SuperC but all aluminum parts are anodized, thus being corrosion-resistant, and are left with a anodic oxide finish. I've been running the same extraction chambers for three years now. I clean them after every run and have not come across any corrosion in my experience.

If anyone has additional questions about the SuperC I am more than happy to answer them.
Is there a way I can contact you about your product I am interested in using it and wanted to know what exactly I should be buying for it to be successfull

The person I spoke with at Apeks was a rude jerk! Their entry level unit is $39k. Not all people interested in the industry can throw down $39k and still have startup costs.

I bought one of these with the tower in Aug 2017. Six months later still not impressed even though I have been told I make the best oil / dabs that my associates have ever had. Were to start hmm well first off like most of you I could find very little about it. Soi called & talked rep. nice polite decide to buy. Then the dance of send all your personal info to verify your credit card is not stolen. Which goes against all internet rules. So I drive 13hrs to one of there dealers also very nice people. I buy both pump & tower that has to be delivered that's okay. two weeks later I got it. First thing company logo falls off I have not even finished assembling it. I laugh thinking hope this not a sign of the quality of this unit. So I read the book & let's get started should say extreme learning curve just figuring out how to pack an ounce of bud into it when the book tells u not to overpack it. I tamp 30 grms into mine now on a run. & get approx 15 % return from high-quality granddaddy grape BUD at an approx 4hr run time using 3 different heat pressure settings & flip end to end technics. This does not include bud prep & load time add 20 minutes.

So now before I achieve this I run 4 batches & notice that gauge does not zero out contact customer service email about warranty on gauge I get email explaining how it could have failed & you can buy from our store great warranty then by sixth run quick hook high peruser started leaking as the guy at us gas put it you will have that from cheap sht. So I replaced out of pocket working fine just slow use a lot more gas then lead to believe also it must be babysat constantly
There are issues with setting temp, the pressure relief system the auto system . all well have you saying WTF out loud quite often.

As far as affordable? If your a trust fund baby a Marcedes is affordable compared to a Lamborgini. & I am not saying this is a Marcedes its a Kia at best. I am working on a video that I hope to have finished soon showing these flaws.

I have been saving my spent spoils & well be doing an old fashion extraction on them to see whats left. OH not blow my own horn but have been making extracts & growing herb off & on over 40 years. For average Joe I still recommend alcohol extraction which is actually AFFORDABLE and with a few tweaks can come very very close to this co2 extract.

Hope this helps someone before throwing your money into this hole. If you are looking to expand your knowledge in extractions
like me, this money was not wasted from a science point of view
