The clock is ticking now. We could start a thermonuclear war, Yellowstone could pop, an asteroid could smack the Earth, and there are even more Extinction Level Events than these, likely some we haven't even considered.

Time to get humans out of this one single handbasket before we arrive at the inevitable destination.

Just looking at statistics for cataclysmic events over the span of the Earth's life you can tell we are overdue.

One of the things I read Stephen was talking about was our progress with artificial intelligence.

Not his original idea by any means either, look up Ray Kurzweil: the singularity is near if you have any more interest.

Issac Asimov had this same idea many years ago, and wrote it into many of his Sci Fi novels.

I have a very deterministic view on this world and the current path technology is taking us. That being said I think the real end goal, once all is said and done is to leave this planet and expand through out the universe. That is if we are abel to survive long enough and hopefully we make it in time. So while I wait, I grow :weed: and smokebongsmilie.

If Hawkings equation was off when he figured it to be 100 from 1000, perhaps his equation is still off?

He has no equation from what I can see.
That article was a commercial for his show and fear is being used to sell it.
No one would've heard about it otherwise. :lol:

When you're dead, none of it matters. You won't even know you're dead, you'll just be dead.

We are here for no reason. We serve no purpose. There is no "need" for humanity to exist. If the world ends, so what?
