Not a chance in Hell! Happily Canadian and happy to watch the greatest show on earth complete with clowns, from this side of the border, in my case hundreds of kilometers away. Lately, I hope they don't wreck their economy and take ours down with it.
I had no idea Canadians had this much contempt for Americans until I came here. I noticed a little when I visited decades ago, but not this bad. Most were really cool. Too bad we can't have fun with each other and leave out the contempt.

Bolton was so angry he was spitting on camera. "What did they do? INVENT A TIME MACHINE? (spit sputter) >:("

A whole lot of egg just splattered onto former Trump administrator's faces. From the article I drew the conclusion that after taking office, somebody in Biden's administration became alarmed at how shoddy our borders were being protected prior to Biden's taking office. They stepped up efforts:

"Past surveillance balloons were discovered at the beginning of the Biden administration because President Joe Biden directed the intelligence community "to increase both our vigilance and the assets that we were deploying to be able to detect Chinese efforts to spy against the United States," said national security adviser Jake Sullivan."

Of course, this won't come up when a Republican yammers on about Border Security. But I'd like to take those comments and throw them back in their face. Just like the egg that got splattered all over them yesterday when this all became public.

Then again, this is what you get when we have people in charge who believe the government is the problem -- we get a problematic government.

More pity for the sane Americans who have to put up with that fascist bullshit and live with people who would rather fuck themselves and everybody else because of fear and hate. How sick or stupid would a person have to be to like Trump or believe anything he says. I wouldn't call any American who voted republican a patriot, but I would call them a fool and perhaps a traitor. The republican party is a fascist organization that promotes and benefits from domestic terrorism, election cheating and denial. They are an existential threat to America and a real and present danger to my country and the entire fucking planet.

Get it?

I'd post a "LIKE" for that, but there's nothing likeable about it.
Do I agree with it, yup. But it's not a likeable statement so, it'll
get a sad emoji. Cuz that's what it is, damned sad.

perhaps we could have fun together that doesn't cause more contempt?
Wow I didn't know you were Canadian too. I have nothing against Canadians. I just thought we had a closer bond and am kinda surprised. And jokes and insults are totally different. We're way off topic though, so we should probably just move on, :bigjoint:

It's because we like Americans and many of us have American relatives that we care when some of them are acting like fucking idiots by electing a dangerous moron like Trump. The fact that millions of the fools still don't see it is nothing short of astounding. In 2020 there were 74 million moral failures who voted for the fool and then he betrayed the constitution. Trump made them look like suckers and traitors by storming the capitol and interrupting the peaceful transfer of power, first time in over 230 odd years. He was impeached twice for good cause and was guilty as sin both times, the last time for trying to over throw the government, with plenty of republican help.

It is not me who hates Americans, it is some Americans who hate and fear other American citizens more than they love their country.

Canada is way too liberal for the constitutional Republic of the United States of America. I personally resent people from outside of my country trying to tell me what's good for me.
Canada in itself is a very weak country only made Strong by the presence of the United States. Canada actively denies rights of the citizens and suppresses people's freedoms in order to gain control of the current population.

Liberal means free and your entire post contradicted itself.
We have a domestic terrorist watch list and so will America, along with single payer healthcare and gun regulation and so will you one day. Obviously nobody can tell some people right from wrong and they can't seem to figure it out on your own, no morals I guess.

I could be wrong, but I don’t think detection was ever the issue. The spokesman tweaked the story to keep it simple, blaming detection when the issue was perhaps access.

More likely, that man and his cabinet instilled a culture/policy in the Pentagon of not bothering them and risking a chaotic and vindictive response for anything below a certain severity of consequence. So they never made the news, on general principle.

Records probably exist at the operator and supervising-colonel level, should anyone look.
The way I read it, Trump ignored the same advice that was later given to Biden who listened and took action. When surveillance was stepped up, they saw something that Trump's administration did not. Not because they could not but because in their arrogance they didn't listen to advisors who were giving good advice. The same kind of incompetent leadership gave us 9-11.

But then again, maybe it's a good thing Trump didn't find out. The walls would have been a lot taller.
