So basically had a few issues along the way, hence the long update covid has caused chaos. More so than I could imagine.

I also had a few breakages along the way and had a longer veg cycle than expected.

However update:

I started flowering on 1st June.

The plants are doing well and recovered from there breakages. They also have had major defoliage today and will now revert to selective defoliating.

I'm very impressed with SF lights for veg with excellent node stacking and good vigorious growth. In early stages I found 18 inches slightly too close and struggled with the calmag but quickly rectified.

It must also be mentioned the drivers have not be altered from the factory settings. This will be changed as flowering commences.

Here are some update photos

My week 1 of feeding mixing ratios are,

All Advanced Nutrients

Pirhana 1ml/LTR
Calmag 1ml/LTR
Tarantula 1ml/LTR
Voodoo Juice 1ml/LTR
Nirvana 1ml/LTR
Rhino Skin 2ml/US Gal or 3.7ltrs
Bud Candy 1ml/LTR
Molasses 2.5ml/US Gal or. 3.7ltrs
Sensizyme 0.5ml/LTR
Bud Factor X 1ml/LTR
Conn A 1.5ml/LTR
Conn B 1.5ml/LTR
Bud Ignitor 1ml/LTR

pH 5.5
EC. 1.5 (due to defoliation)
PPM 750-800 approx (500 scale)

I'm running the sf4000 and wondering if you turned the light up from the set factory settings for you're flowering stage? Great job on the grow journal so far

I'd leave the settings along if I was you. Turning up the driver might cause harm to the boards and I've heard SF won't honor thier warranty if you were to have issues. Lower the light if the plants can handle it, but be careful I've heard people have had bleaching result when the lights are to close the plants.

Yes I saw the bit about it affecting the warranty if you mess with the settings, i bought my light in February but I've since saw folk on YouTube with the same light, with a dimmer switch, my understanding is that if you buy it now, it will come with that dimmer on it, it's kinda pissed me off that I don't have it on mine, probably earlier model but I would have liked that function.

I hear you. Having to adjust by pulling the drivers off is silly. I have two of the SF 1000s I used in my first indoor grow along with a 315 CMH and during flower I just raised or lowered all of them as needed. I didn't mind the daily ritual of measuring plant to light heights, nice actually seeing the kids grow!

This is my first attempt ever at a grow, AK fem auto and three northern lights fem autos, biobiz soil light mix/biobiz nutes, AK popped on 6th April, other three around the 6th may, not gone to plan but I'm learning all the time lol,

This is my grow guys! Glad to see more people using spider farmer than just myself lol. 2x sf2000 in 3x3 space. So far I am happy with the results. First shot at led lighting. I guess we will see what the yield has to say in the end though.
Looks great! What kind of temps and humidity are you shooting for during flower?

For flower I keep my temps around 70-75 with lights on and lights off I get to about 64-65 for my lowest. And my humidity I try to maintain at about 40% but it does fluctuate a little. Gauge I have on the pots in the picture is reading high because the soil is moist and picks that up lol.

Hey guys nice results.

Well I'm currently at day 10 of my run and plants I've been told look great. I'm away currently working but will update when I get back.

So as to mention the power settings. I'm just gonna make note of the knob positions turn them up to max shortly and if they blew turn them back and return them. Currently however no I left them at factory. Which surprised me as I thought the SF1000 would of been a tad over the top for cuttings however all cuttings taken rooted.

As for bleaching I'm.currently at 15 inches with no problems however I did have CalMag issues (not major) in early veg due to the light being too close at 18/20 inches. Later found out it's due to the IR and UV spectrum. Raised the light to 24 inches and the problem went away in a few days.

I'm aiming for the biggest DLI I can with these lights and hope to run them at full wack at 12 inches to see what they really do. After all it's a product test as much as an experiment.

I'm also testing a mars hydro ts2000 with Remo nutes and so far everything is average with moderate problems. However when talking dollars I guess it's hard to argue.

As for temps I run somewhere between 68f/20c to 75f/24c and for RH I like to run 50-60%. Hard to maintain due to geographical location. They do fluctuate a fair bit depending on atmospheric conditions.

IL be interested to see your results so IL keep a keen eye on your findings for the SF.

Just signed up to chime in on this post. Been talking about getting a grow going for damn near 20 years and just finally got my first setup lol. I'm running 2x sf2000 in a 5x5. Haven't actually popped anything yet, still setting up. I have a little trip the end of the month so I plan on putting some clones in on July 1st. They advertise that you can cover a 5x5 with 2x sf2000, is that misleading? Should I pick up a third? or would there be something better to stick in there? I've been getting the environment ready so that when I get home I can just get going. With the 2 lights running 24 hours I still only at 74 degrees f and 51% humidity. I got a AC Infinity T6 for intake and a T8 for exhaust. Got another 4x3 tent that splits into 2 sections (3x3 & 1x3) for clones/veg/mother that I am running 3x sf1000 in. Just curious what you guys think, should I go for another sf2000 while they're on sale?

For nutes I am going to try running the FOOP line. I have heard good things from a close friend. Growing medium I am sticking to something simple for a beginner... 50% Organic ProMix Mycorrihzae 30% Coco 20% Perlite... at least that was recommended to me... the plan is to eventually go full Coco/Perlite once I get the hang of things. Got a nice portable AC/Dehumidifier/Heater unit I dropped $500 on coming in the next few days, figure I can use it year round. Also got a small humidifier for the winter. I set up RO system so I have clean water, it's also what the FOOP line recommends for watering. Water ph is 6.1. Planning to run 6 girls in 7gal cloth pots. Also looking into some CO2 bags (worth it?)

Open to any suggestions you guys might have.

Thanks! and I look forward to watching the progress of your grow!

Hey guys sorry for the delay.

This is day 14 of flower. Slight problem with green crack as she's slightly pailer than it should be however Ive also got slight tip burn which could be related to the power of the light as I've had slight leaf roll over.

The lights have been higher and condition be monitored closely.

Here as some pictures.

As regards to your question about picking another up. Basically it's all depends really. If you can afford too why not more light with more even coverage is only ever a good thing if you can keep up with plant demands.

If your in hydro or coco especially watch the calmag level, my good God high powered LEDs and coco...... Forever trying to find the correct balance. And yes before some Nazi picks up on the post I did buffer my coco correctly I've been doing it for years with HPS.

I'm in love with micro biology at the moment as wanting to understand alot more about them. I'm using coco safe add ons from AN (to be fair it the full AN line) but it's Sensizyme, Amino acids in the form of Nirvana, Pirhana, Tarantula and Voodoo Juice.

I have to say some of the house and garden stuff is marginally better. However you'll only ever see the extra 10% that some other products of your EXACTLY on point with all factors. For the non commerical users I do recommend AN but am also trialing the Remo line. Remo are ok but are out matched on the Black Sugar comparison, they lack a certain zing when compared to AN. That said Remo line is a fraction of AN. Same with Growth Technologies (minus clonex). Again fraction of the cost.

As for FOOP I've never run them so cannot comment. The next trail will be with Heavy D nutes using the same set up using clones which I have under S1000. Just keep your heights slight further away than 18 and 12 both for calmag reasons and bleaching!

If you can maintain RH and temps that's good control, ambients play a key role in growth and bud development. Just make sure you can from a few degree easy enough and maintain it for flower, I found lower temps better for bud density.

Another very good point for you to bare in mind is that you don't have more than 15f or 5c temp swings between lights on and off.

Done some spreading and correcting my pailing issue. Was down to bleaching as suspected followed by marginal Calmag problem related to high out put LED's!

Gotta watch this like a hawk guys/gals!!

I've done some spreading in the room and now it's day 16. I have preflowers! So will be cutting out the; CalMag/Pirhana/Tarantula/Voodoo Juice.

I have also dropped bud ignitor.

Today the EC went up to 1.9 or 950 ppm.

My mix today was
11 litres of water
9ml Nirvana
9ml Bud candy
8ml Molasses
9ml Bud Factor X
4ml Sensizyme
4ml Tarantula
4ml Pirhana
4ml Voodoo Juice
9ml Big Bud
13.5ml Con A
13.5ml Con B
9ml B52
4ml Rhino Skin
4ml Plagron Bat Gauno Powder

EC 1.9 or 950ppm
pH. 5.5
