Some hella NEWBIE questions *pics*

They definately need some food, I'd try it out, at a low dose. They still look a bit overwatered. Allow them to dry out more. Next time, try allowing them to dry until they just begin to droop. That way you'll have a better idea of when you need to water - you'll want to do so right before they start getting droopy.

As far as the lower leaves go, if you damage the plant, there really isn't any fixing it. If a leaf is damaged past a certain point, it will die, even if you correct the problem. The new growth will tell you wether or no you're doing better.

Hey guys,

got something new to me today, here is a pic.
Its high res so u can see it clearly...
i got some sort of bug. I killed the only one i seen so i think/hope i will be allright. The attached photos are of the plants, they have not changed at all.

I am going to follow the advice of doeeyed and not water untill they really need it. I will provide a light light dose of the shultz and gradually work my way up.

Untill tomorrow,
Keep growin'

It's a fungus gnat. very common in soil. They especially like wet conditions. (yep, that's a hint, let 'em dry out lol). Seriously though - if you see one, there are more. Don't wait to see them - treat now. The adults are not so much the problem. But they lay their eggs in the top couple inches of soil, and their larvae eat roots - eventually burrowing right up through the main stalk. Neem oil is good for this, you can also put a layer of sand on top of your pots. Search the forum on this - or google it - find a couple ways, and do 'em all.

Good day fellas, I know its been awhile..
I spent the weekend partying it up with the trailerpark boys so was not around or hella hungover to take pics and write up.

So its been awhile but..
the plants are still alive.. Kinda.
Lost the browning set of leaves on the plant i was concerned about before.

The other two other then some drooping they are growing up tall and getting new leavs daily. The color of the leaves concerns me a bit too.

I have started to with the last watering slowly get the plats adjusted to the plant food mentioned in the previous update.

Till tomorrow
Keep Growin'

sorry if we already covered this, but whats your ph? something is wrong with your plants. how often are you watering again? and how much? If it started off looking like a n-def and feeding didnt help I would say their is a good chance its a ph lockout.

Morning/Afternoon All!

Id first off like to answer the 2 questions asked before.

darkdestruction420: My soil PH is UNKNOWN ( i have no methods other then papers to test)
The water is 6.4-6.5pH.

And as far as putting in some ladybugs. I think it could prove to be difficult in a closet in the basement. The gnats seem to have subsided tho.

Now for updates. The plants are actually growing!?!

Plant in attached pics 1&2:
This girl seems to be growing again. With the plant food added to the last watering 2 days ago the veg is getting larger. As you can see the base fan leaves are already larger then the pot. (2 days ago they were not)Is a transplant in order? Or just let it be???

Plant in attached pics 3&4:

Not as much change can be said for this plant. However the new growth is not yellowing and looks healthier then the bottom leaf.

Plant in attached pics 5&6:
This plant has also not grown too much since the nutes. However i remain optimistic that in the next few days change will occur.

BONUS!!::: I have been growing a separate plant that i have not yet featured on this site. I will provide some pictures and brief info they will be the 7th&8th photo attached. I have been taking all the great advice i have gotten here and put it to practice on a new plant. This girl is only 3 weeks old and thriving quite well. Just thought you may wanna take a look aswell :)

Till tomorrow,
keep growin'

use sterile sand for the gnats. you can get a big bag of the stuff cheap at home depot. it's used for kids sand boxes n shit like that.

just put a layer on top of the soil. it will asphyxiate the bugs in the soil, but lets you water the plant at the same time. the only bugs you should be happy to see are pirate bugs, mite predators, lady bugs, and a handful of other carnivorous insects.

the rest, are there to eat yoour plant and should be taken care of.....

Are you watering with molasses? If so that could be where you're gnat problems coming from. They like sugars, the first time I seen them was after I watered with molasses for the first time on this grow and I also had them last year... I haven't used it since. my 2 cents

No i am no longer using moleasses
I am using proper nutes.

Gnats are not a issue
i have not seen one in 2 weeks at least.

My only concern
is that my plants are boys.
