They are slowly but surely turning yellow and slow to no growth. It started with one or two and then is spreading to the rest of them...oldest ones are the worse.

First I thought it was GH 3 Part series. Then the Ozone Generator... hmmm maybe the Ozone in the room next is turning them yellow...finally I thought temp or the worst...Mites :(

Then I was reading on the forums here that it could be a cal/mag issue...whatever that means lol

Details...Details...

  • ProMix
  • Switched from GH 3 part system (because I though GH might be causing it) to Advanced Nutrients 2 part A and B system + Fossil Fuel + SuperThrive + Blackstrap Molasses + GH Kool Boom. Side Note: I have no effing idea what I'm doing with nutes...I just go by the bottle and hope lol. I am seeking a good line of nutes...it's just every hydro guy has their own opinion...I dunno.
  • 1000 Watt HPS
  • PH 6.0
  • Water is City water and sits at-least 24 hours with bubble aeration
  • Temps 60F-80F (attempting to "purple" with night cycle at 60F...seems to work NL#7)
  • Nirvana PPP and Northern Lights #7

It's like a sea of Yellow when I seek green...oh green where did you go...come back pretty please with a Ladybug on top.

Have you been giving them high nitrogen in veg? Also did you switch to low nitrogen bloom side exactly when you switched to 12/12? Have you grown that varietal before? Do you not have a ppm meter?

K,

1. Yes they are on a cold floor - This has not been an issue before and it seems like it's "spreading"

2. I also thought it might be a nitrigen issue... but then read here on roll it up that many mistake a Cal/mag issue for a N issue when this happens in bloom. I was using N in veg and switched to bloom in the first week. All of my new 0-4 week flowers are good to go... its the 6-10 week ladies that seem to be turning on me. I dunno

lol I knew I would get that response. Yes Yes... but it's different. It's a yellowing that is spreading throughout the entire garden regardless of time. The ppp usually goes for 11 to 12 ... shes a Beast!

Are they on a cold floor? Ive read that cooler temps can make the plant finnish faster.

Right... but the only probem is the Trichs are crystal clear....wft. I broke out the old loop and did a close up... yep they are clear as day. Hmmmmmm

imo you over nuted them with nit. you will be ok but loss some yield. learn to dial in the nuts for next. going by the bottle recommend is deadly. most 25 to 1/2 strength at most. I use gaunos with slow release so none of this happens ever. green till chop is the goal.

How are you getting to pH 6.0? Do you add acid, base? Do you add it after or before you have added nutes to the water?

I think this is the case. My guess is I over fertalized with GH 3 part when switching from FF to GH. I think the GH hit them hard... ran out of FF and had GH new still in the box from a while ago (still good).

I was kinda hoping it was a cal/mag issue. I'm getting little rust spots on some of the leaves in veg.

Next goal is to get this nute thing down... and stick with it so I can dial in other areas.

I'm using GH ph down. I add it after I have added nutes to resivour and let bubble for about 15 minutes... then I ph...then wait another 15 minutes for good measure. And only water after Ph balance and temp check.

Or you could go organic and let the earth do what it does.

Ok, if you add full strength acid straight to your nute blend after nute adds then you are potentially locking up nutes before they ever get to the media. This is not a final pH issue but rather and issue that arises immediately upon adding extremely acidic/alkaline reagents to your nutes. There is a massive pH shift and ions can precipitate out of solution. I know with alkaline reagents the issue is mostly cal precipitating out in the form of cal phosphate. I have less experience with acid lock up but I'll check into specifically what the issue would be and then we'll see if symptoms correlate. Again, its not final pH or even fluctuating pH but rather a reaction that is taking place at mixing.

I suggest diluting acid down before adding. Depending on strength of acid used as much as 100/1.I would mix a nute batch in a bucket and measure the acid needed to hit your desired pH. Then simply measure your 100/1 acid reagent like a nute add and add it to your water BEFORE nutes, add nutes and bingo in the sweet spot. Make sense?

I'll repost tonight on the symptoms expected in this scenario. Peace.

It makes sense... but everyone says to balance ph last. The water here runs about 6.8-7.0 I usually only have to add a touch of Ph down and have not had an issue yet.

It all started when I switched from FF full line to GH 3 part series....and slowly ever slooowly has gotton progressive over the past month. I also thought it could be the ozone for a minute...I dunno.

My highest and best guess is Nute lock out for whatever reason which is causing a N deficiency that is having a domino effect (whatever that may be???) or a Cal/mag issue... I just don't know that much about cal/mag issues...never had any first hand.

Thanks for the knowledge ... I soaked that right up

Sound great. So how does that work lol. Sound more affordable too : ) I did some research and just do not have the time or the space to let a soil mix sit for 6 months before I use it. I have looked into it and do agree it is the way to go IF you know how to.

Sometimes patients in my state tend to think all one has to do is put a seed in soil and boom!...Chronic meds.

I wish. This shit is work...mental and physical.

They say to pH last but they don't say to use straight acid, do they? Simply dilute it. I'll leave it alone but I wasn't guessing. I hope you figure it out. Peace.
