I have decided to try a 12/12 from seed grow and decided that I would post the progress. I wouldn't expect anything spectacular about this grow as this is my first 12/12, but it will be fun giving it a run. I'll probably be doing this from now on except for when I start my autos. Here is what I have going right now.

1: Burmese Kush feminized in 5gal DWC.
2: Bag seed in miracle grow that I am experimenting with. (x2)

The plants are around 9 days old and and the bag seed is doing a little better than the BK. More than likely because there are nutes in the MG and there wasn't anything added to the DWC until today. I noticed that the bag seed had more growth so I decided to add a bit of foxfarm grow big to the BK.

I am growing 2 bag seed plants in the same 5 gal bucket and during the growth process I am going to twist their stalks around each other. Not sure what I will do if one turns out to be male, I haven't thought that far ahead. But my plan is to twist the stalks just enough to make a pipe out of them after harvest. Maybe I'll get lucky and have 2 females growing together.

These were taken today @ around 9 days of 12/12 The first is bag seed and the second is the Burmese Kush.


Notice the lack of growth on the BK, hopefully the foxfarm I added will add that extra oomph..


All in all, things are going great and the plants are healthy.

I forgot to mention that these are being grown under a 400w hps. I just received my new bulb, which is a apollo horticulture grow bulb. I had to replace the bulb because the one I had was old and not producing very well. That is probably one of the reasons why the plants were growing so slow.

Temps are at a steady 78 degrees Fahrenheit and 39% humidity.

Well, the bag seed that I had both turned out to be male. They were cut down and fed to the cats, so now I just have the burmese kush going but still hasn't shown sex, even though it is a feminized seed.

I think believe total time on 12/12 from seed is around 2.5 weeks, give or take a few days.

Here is the current BK @ 2.5 weeks. I should probably wait till the hps is off before taking pics, but.....eh...

And yes, I do realize there is a bit of nute burn on one of the bottom leaves.

It has been 8 days since the last update and my Burmese Kush has began to flower. I've kept the light as low as my ducting would allow it to go, which is about 18" above the plant top, and she has grown some real tight nodes and a nice thick stalk. All in all, looks great. I've been thinking about adding big bloom to the mix, but haven't made my mind up yet.

Just a note to anyone wanting to grow this strain. It is a bit sensitive to nutes, so be careful using them.

I had added 2tbls of foxfarm big bloom to the res and the leaves started to curl under, so I decided it would be best to just completely empty and clean the res and add 6.8ph water only and she perked up in 3 hours. Very forgiving plant, but sensitive.

Hello everyone that doesn't come here. Was bored and took some pics of the current progress of my buku plant flowering for 3 days but on a different camera setting.
Since she didn't respond well to the nutes that I gave to her, it is 6.8ph water from here on out. No more nutes for her.

Hi. Your plant looks very healthy. Is this all you have growing right now? You mentioned autos, are you growing them elsewhere?

Yea, I was growing some bagseed but they turned out to be male. I cant grow autos on 12/12 so once I get my 12/12 stuff done I'll start my autos. However, I am about to start 3-4bagseed and a blackberry in solo cups. They are germinating right now.

Thanks duck. I was meaning to ask; do you have a constant grow going?

I run a perpetual. Right now it's mainly about sexing the seedlings and making S1s from my Blue Dream. I might try to fill the flower space with the next run depending on how things work out timing wise.

Ah ok. I am going to be running a constant 12/12 till I get done with my reg fem seeds, then on to 18/6 for my autos. Gonna do some solo cup grow along with this one since space is limited. I would use my other 5gal, but I want to see what I can pull off with solo cups.

I've got a clone that was rooted in a solo cup and flipped to flower and then put in a 1qt pot when she showed sex that's doing really well. I may try to do some kind of SOG if she yield well at all.

I've wanted to do a SOG grow and with the space I do have, I could potentially yield quite a bit. I have prob around 30 bag seed left that I could do it with. This is my first 12/12 from seed grow and was curious what I could do without having a proper veg period. I'm thinking I'll yield a good amount from this plant.

My guess would be 5oz dry. Think I can pull it off with no nutes?

I also have to grow a male at some point and collect the pollen sacs from it. I have a Aurora Indica plant that I want to pollinate and get some seeds from. I absolutely love that strain and with a good cure, it will put you out. Hopefully I got the right genetics of this BUKU I'm growing and it will do good also.

The trick to SOG is that you use mature clones not 12/12 from seed.
Why not just use colloidal silver or silver thiosulfate to reverse the sex of a female you know is good?

I've never even heard of doing such a thing. You mean completely changing a female plant to male, or make it hermi?

Edit: NVM, I read up on it. Basically you spray it on the plant to create the banana pollen sacs to create feminized seeds. Never even thought about doing that. Thanks.

So, I haven't had any weed in a bit and had a tooth pulled so I decided to trade some hydrocodone 5's for a quarter of weed and this is the shitty ass dirt weed I got.

Now I remember why I started growing my own.

That just makes me sad man! Now I see whay you're running 12/12 from seed.

this is exactly why i grow my own now too. im on my 6th grow and been doing bagseeds from the start and the seeds i got was pulled from shit like u got and it 50 times better when harvested. last harvest i had 1 plant, got 3 oz and found 1 seed so im growing it this grow, and a bunch of other bagseeds got 12 sprouted thinking of going 12/12 to weed out the males hoping for 5-7 females so i can see what my 600w can do... might just do 12/12 from seed but they are under mh atm lol.

LoL, Yea, that is the main reason. I need to get some quality bud like now, and I refuse to pay the price for good bud. Reminds me of about a week ago when I was offered some "HYDRO" @ 20 a gram. I couldn't help but laugh. It was one of my friends saying he could get me some and I was like all that means is it was grown in water as the medium and it doesn't make it any better if who grew it didn't do it properly.

I absolutely hate when people talk about hydro and having no clue what it means just so they can charge a higher price.

Yea, I have some bagseed germinating right now to put into solo cups. I've also grown bagseed before myself and had it turn out to be some high quality smoke when it was grown properly. I also have a blackberry seed that I am going to be growing.

Make sure you all come back around to see that blackberry. I haven't seen many people grow it, but its a black domino and raspberry cough mix.

This is probably going to be the order of what I will be growing:

Current: BUKU + Bagseed + Blackberry

Next: Aurora Indica + Pineapple Express -----Going to have to make some seeds from these

Next after Next: Smokey Bear Auto ---- I'll prob let people choose the other auto ----- I have ---- Auto Anesthesia, AK49 and White Widow....

The white widow is from vision... Don't know much about that company, but it was a free seed so yea.
