single cola plants?

Some of my younger girls. Starting to fill in nicely. All looking healthy. I did just water so there may be some drooping.

First we grow it, then, we fuck it!

Here's the girl I topped a while ago. She's starting to fill it. But, in what appears to be a ball shaped cola. What a mess! So, yeah, this is what not to do. Mr. Howard, is this what you meant by, "Useless cola"?

But it doesn't have seemed to slow her down for more than a couple days. She rebounded with a big time growth spurt during early flower. So, I'm thinking it didn't effect yeild much, just mishaped the cola and rapped it in a lot of leaves. Not to mention the shade that massive top gives on the short lower branches. So, not cool. But interesting. Any one have any thoughts on this?

Here's the girl I supercropped. She grew this v shaped double cola, strangely enough, naturally. She grew 3 leaves and two new branches for no reason at all. Wierd. But she makes for a good expirement. I supercropped the left cola The right cola was left alone. That was week one. Here they are now. The supercropped cola is clearly taller and slightly fatter. Even the individual nodes on the left cola are bigger below the supercropped, "Elbow".

Cool.:blsmoke:

Quick question all. Flushing with molassas in the water. Good idea or no? Seems the purpose of molassas being to help metabolize the nutrients, it would benefit during flushing. But I've read mixed reports about molassas all the way through flower. Some say to stop a couple weeks before flower. Others, to use it all the way through. I have used it since day 1 with great results. Well, at least no negatives.

Whatchathankin?

usually i use brown sugar almost the same and i get the same results. i only water with brownsugar every 3rd watering and i see a difference about a3- 4 days after i use it. i tried to use it every watering for a few plants to test different ideas but it seemed to bring bugs. i've heard the plant will only take what it needs then leave the rest behind. with all that extra sugar laying around its no wonder bugs come around.
to get back to the question, i think of flushing as a cleansing of the soil and nothing is cleaner than plain water.yours are in soil right? the need for flushing isn't as big of a deal in soil as it is in hydro. if you can maybe flush 1 with and 1 without? i'd like to check this out myself just for the f**k of itim at about the same stage as you with your grow so maybe i'll try it on one. usually when the plants look done i just let the soil dry up then i pick the last watering being about a week before harvest.

The tall one is really starting to "bubble". Filling in her spaces. Resin starting finally. This girls gone go the full 12 I think. She's been slow going.

Removed most around week one of flower. Better light to lower buds. Have noticed no difference with the plant I left the fan leaves on. Same size buds really.

-dude'r

have you weighed them to compare?
im shocked youve removed them from week one, and it still did the same, how many times have you done this?

i always hear speculation about removing leaves but i've done side by side grows and it never made a huge difference or even a difference at all.
just dont go crazy just pick the big fan leaves and leave the small leaves around buds. i removed these once to play around and that plant seemed to dwarf compaired to the rest. now if they look dying or wilted or even anything wrong with the fan leaves i pick em off otherwise i leave em on

No, haven't checked their weight yet. But I will at harvest. Like Fiend said. Never noticed any difference. Never removed bud leaves. Can't see the need. They don't shade much.

Heard a lot of speculation too. I did see a thread on another site that the guy sweared by removing them. Had incredable buds. So I followed his lead. Have notice some extra growth in bottom buds were fan leaves were removed. But really not much. Seems to me that on or off the buds are the same. But this expirement is my only first hand experience with this. Anyone else got any opinions?

On another note. God some bad news! Apparently, if you unplug your light and plug it back in immediately, the bulb wont ignite again. Or so it seems. I called the Hydro guy and he said to bring it in have him look at it. What a pain in the ass. I put an 11 bulb cfl setup I had laying around from a long time ago. Sucks. Big time! But it should sustain a suffiecient light cycle till I can replace the bulb if need be on Friday. This blows! Anyone have a trick to fix this? Had it happen to them? Seems a 150 dollar bulb shouldn't kick the bucket that easily.

thanks all

I have coliseum garden and i can have only 11L pots , i veg. plants in another room. I will try to veg. in 20L pots and than i will transplate plants to coliseum garden with 11L pots (so there will be full of roots).

Questions for you: Is that possible or not ? ( how will plant react on this )

i've been following this thread since the beginning and i think you hijacked this thread on page 2 although you are doing a swell job with this experiment if people diddnt add their 2 cents we would all suffer.
WE ARE ONE BIG FORCE

TY. well said, i was recently insulted for posting a question in a thread that wasnt relevent to my question( because i was new on the site and didnt know how to make my own thread) and when i replied using foul language and i was kicked off the site for a week, so i learned that its not worth the time or energy to be putting down anyone, where all here for the same reason,

HID lamps need to cool for about 20 minutes before they will reignite. Wiat till its cool and plug it back in. :)

Yeah, did that. Last night, strangely enough, the light went out at 4:20p.m. I immediately grabbed the cfl setup. Then I kept the hps off all night, ballast unplugged. Turned it on this morning, nothing. No light. Ballast makes the same humm but no light.

Positive note: I found a 800# on my bulb! Nice. Called and a really nice lady told me my bulb comes with a 3 year warranty. All I need do is take it back to the store for a replacement. They deal with the Hydro store guy from there. Very cool. Thought I was out another 150 bucks. So, if your in the market for a HPS bulb, go with SunMaster.

Peace,
-The Dude
