I actually watched this documentary (love this stuff!) awesome site is mvgroup.org if you are into this kind of thing and a lot more. The James Burke collections are worth a watch for anyone at any time!

"Theory" of Evolution.. I won't go into all the whys and wherefores but people need to understand what a scientific theory is before saying Evolution "is only a theory".

Missing link - nice bit of marketing by discovery or whoever put it out.. actually... I am just not gonna go here.. people should go google this stuff and using even out pot soaked brains we should be able to figure all this stuff out nicely :P

If you really want to bake your noodle go read the selfish gene which has a very wicked take on Darwins other "theory" - natural selection!

As an aside; the parasitic wasp really brought all this home to Darwin and actually made him quite sick thinking about it all.

people seem to have an inability to think deeply on there own be it science based atheists or religious types its really depressing they simply reference what they have been taught or decided to believe with no real insight based on there own thoughts and feelings. though it seems most people dont attempt to think up there own ideas anyways. all these threads are the same in the end with one incorrect extreme arguing with another false belief its sad.

Who knows? No one, that's who. And most likely no one will know as long as we are alive. I would believe your theory over a "God" any day. Just look at the sheer number here, I mean come on! :o I like to think I am an Agnostic, in that I believe that there is no god that we can prove with current technology. And, that there may well be a god or creator, (most surely is), but we cannot yet prove it. Know what I mean. This type of shit makes me want to change my major to astrology or some shit, lol. :clap: Oh, by the way don't think on this too hard or your mind will explode! :o

While they are not mutually exclusive, it is entirely possible that he was suggesting that we are, by in large, both.

It is not an inaccurate statement by merit of the language itself.

He could be right frankly... whether or not he qualifies is still up for debate however...

Evolution gets proven several times a year. Some of you people just have to do some more reading in some areas. And maybe less in others......... like any and all areas that have a political agenda....... like religious groups

One thing I don't get about evolution, though. Humans take materials from the ground, from the Earth, and turn it into what we possess now. We take the ground and turn it into complex structures, tools, devices, clothing, food, medicine, etc. Our modern technology would be nearly impossible to understand 100 years ago (try explaining an ipod to George Washington!). It's no question we are super intelligent beings. If we evolve, shouldn't other creatures be evolving as well? Shouldn't other animals be gaining more intelligence as they evolve? Well, we can see that animals are getting smarter, but still no where near the complex mind of a human.

There's such a massive difference in our intelligence compared to every other living organism. I don't get why we are the only creatures brilliant enough to produce anything our minds conceive with the help of our hands and eyes. But then again, I haven't studied this subject much. All I can do is speculate until I fully understand it.
