Saving Medical Marijuana

so i was thinking-

and it's starting to occur to me that we're being bamboozled. in the same week ALL out of registry transfers illegal, legislators are readying to introduce bills they already have waiting that include legalizing dispensaries, and small amounts(oz).

for me this is a real eye opener. they see the money 10+ billion a year. all they are going to do is tell some simple lies, and spin the thing, and when it lands it'll be pointing right at them. they will be the new disp owners . all they need to do is place the language that ensures it in a court battle, and 80% won't know what hit them. i'm not even sure what to do on this. i am for legalization, but the last thing i need is a buncha globalist running my ganj. they have all of us previous criminals following their beat already, and i'm betting they think we won't go back. only further down their path.

now that we have this court opinion, it will be easy for them to inact legislation ensuring they are left holding the bag. a year long wait for petition signing won't work. they are gonna beat us to the punch, and when they do i doubt they are gonna think it's nifty that you're making tons of tax free cash. they already have contractors who are in the group. they don't work outside of it.

if we don't do something big soon, this nifty little cottage industry is gonna get the Big Brother treatment soon. what could that even mean? all grow industry shipped to mexico, same as automotive?

weigh in. we need lawyers and doctors and cops and growers and smokers and everyBODY on this. we are gonna need to get a grassroots movement going quickly. in my opinion it happens by shutting of the medicine. wanna see 10,000 people at the capital in a month? take their ganj. as long as veryone is smokin and comfy on the couch, the don't care who it is they pay 20 a gram to.

what do you guys think? try to keep it serious. if we want this industry to be ours we are gonna have to hit the rubber to the fuckin road here. or else all but the shining 1% will be nothing but phillip morris patrons.

Maybe so, but it's a global economy right now. People only have so much power. The real change is going to have to be a spiritual change. I don't even listen to the politricksters. Just keep smoking the ganja, and you should feel alright. Have a nice day:)

bureau of alcohol tobacco and marijuana.....coming to a legalized state near you--

http://blog.norml.org/2013/02/05/everything-you-wanted-to-know-about-the-new-federal-marijuana-legalization-measures/

i have heard the 'tax' could be as high as 50%--yes let's legalize and tax it!(facetious)bongsmilie

....they allready have everyone registered on lists....how hard will it be to do compliance checks if the bureau of alcohol tobacco and marijuana is involved---

yes collect 10$million in fees and use it to go after folks--
you didn't really think they were going to use the $$to 'help' us did you??

IMO....the only way to 'save' medical mmj is to make it completely legal for medical use only--

they can't tax medicine....only the sales are taxed....that's what all this is really about---the 'sales' tax that they aren't getting.....so let's legalize it so thy can put a 50% tax on us.......for being sick

Honestly, it's too late. Unless you have big $, you're out. Just like Colorado did 3 years ago.
I've been spending my time breezing through some recent legalization work as of late. When CO legalized recreational use last year they also maintained medicinal use. What exactly is the game here?

Maintaining Medicinal in Colorado allows for possession of more product, access to the dispensaries obviously, bigger growing space, a lot more plants if you get the right license. I have friends with medible licenses out there, they get 75 plants for that. I'll be in Colorado soon, I can tell you more about the status of things when I get back.

Well a couple of things.

First of all, nothing changed. Dispensary operations were not part of the MMMA, there was some justifications for them put forth by the commercial folks, but they were marginal at best and the court clarified that in McQueen.

Second, there is a bill in the works to legalize some dispensary/farmers market operations, it has a ways to go and we need to make sure the dispensary interests don't try and trade home growing/caregivers for dispensaries. That is the situation in places like AZ that do allow dispensaries to operate- they prevented folks from growing at home if they were within 25 miles of a dispensary, the dispensaries essentially popped up every 25 miles to lock in the market.

Right now the main thrust needs to be re-establishing the compassion club (original model, no meds) so patients and caregivers can get together.

My idea on the dispensaries when I discussed it with the folks sponsoring the bill was to put out a $10 stamp. Much like the temp permit you get when you hit a deer to allow you to keep it, the stamp would make the seller your 'caregiver' under the MMMA for the purposes of that transaction. Neat and simple with a paper trail. I also suggested that only Michigan grown marijuana from Michigan caregivers would be allowed at the dispensaries and farmers markets- no out of state meds that need to be transported across state lines to take income away from Michigan Caregivers.

We'll see what happens, in the meantime we really need to direct our efforts at hooking caregivers up with patients. I am offering my facilities in a couple of locations to anyone interested in running some clubs (Saginaw, Muskegon, Greenville, etc.). These will be rent free or minimal and other than functioning as a medical adviser I really won't be involved with them.

I'm getting current MI brick & mortar dispensaries reaching out to me for caregivers. What's exactly on their mind here?

I don't know. No brick and mortor has reached out to me here. I was planning on doing my own footwork. I can't believe with the economy being tough like it is that they wouldn't pump out as much product as possible.

Can you clarify what you mean there?
I try not to as I know many owners personally from around the state and would not want anyone to assume anything. My point is that some are now looking for caregivers to associate with ;)

muskegon is holding strong we are still open
We. So you are a dispensary in Muskegon. Explains a lot.

Tell you what. We'll do something special for Muskegon in the near future like we just did in Clare. It is about time I returned to that town with some major marketing and became the dominant clinic again.

Stay tuned for March. Just for you and your buddies Bloody. And of course the patients.
