Quitting Cigarettes

I live in Maryland right on the boarder of West Virginia and their $5.23 tax included a pack for Marlboro which is what I smoke. Guess I'm pretty lucky seeing prices in New York and California.

Keep a water bottle with you so your hands have something to do, gum for other times. It's not as hard as you might think to quit smoking, the hard part is to stay a non-smoker.
I make hemp necklaces and they take betwee a hour or 2 to make and for the whole time I was making one I didn't even think about a cigarette. Until I got done though but the point is keep your hands busy like blowin' smoke said.

I should probably quit but honestly have no desire to. I like smoking. Smoking one as I type this. Told myself I was gonna quit when my daughter was born and never did. She's now seven and my son six and I still Havnt. I'm only 27 and smoke roughly a pack and a half a day. I've got the machine to roll your own so it doesn't cost much but I don't want my kids to see me die a horrible cancer ridden death the way I watched my grandmother die.

i went cold turkey 13 years ago after smoking for over 20.
One of the best decisions I've ever made.

Neo - it's mind over matter.
You got this for your daughter bro.

I quit in 86. Cold turkey as well. I chewed a lot of cinnamon gum and gargled with cinnamon mouthwash. Helps with the cravings.

e cigs didnt work for me because its so much like the real thing i just wanted a fucking cigerettte, however i quit cold turkey , i had a doctor tell me its the only way to do it but who knows im 72 days smoke free and happy
It's funny Sunni, we have this girl Daniel on the radio down here and she does these commercials for hair removal that they play constantly, but I just realized that whenever I read one of your posts I read it in Daniels voice. So I have effectively merged the two of you in my somewhat buzzed brain.
Sorry, that had nothing to do with smoking I just han't realized I did that till just now.
As for smoking, you've made it through the hardest part, everyday gets easier. Just resist the urge and eventually you'll get to the point that you can't believe you ever smoked.
Good luck i'm sure you can do it.

Quit chewing tobacco 4 years ago this February after having that crap in my mouth for almost 15 years, everyday all day.

It still calls my name from time to time even after all this time. Atleast the dreams of drowning in chew have gone away over the last year.

I should of just started with pot and never touched that shit.

I was a smoker for 12 years and have tried all the crap(e cig, patch, gum, cold turkey ect.) However I am glad to say I am two weeks without smoking today. My girlfriend picked me up one of those nicorette quickmist things and it works better then every other method I tried before. It tastes nasty, and burns like all hell but it works wonders on taking the craving away.I am still on my first one and am down to only using it 3 times a day already. You can do it!

Yeah, I spent a month there with my wife's family back in Fall '11. They definitely like their smokes. Twil be hard to stay quit when I get there.

But if anybody cares I have already quit. I ran out 3 hours ago and had to go do some grocery shopping. I did NOT buy any when I was out. That's a start. To borrow a quote from one of my favorite tv shows... "It only ends once, everything that happens up until then, is just progress."

lol. Happened to me, so i put it into a Google search. A century ago, ciggie packs included bits of ribbon that were popular quilting stock. cn
