So, I'm building a two room system made of: one big room for flowering and the other smaller room for clonemaking and moms.

I can take the cuts only a few weeks before the flowering room is harvested so they have a bit of time to develop roots and a basic plant structure. Then move plants to the flower room and veg them in the screens until they cover 50-70% of them, then flip to flower. This was my initial plan.

But now there is a new factor, turned out that the second small room will be a bit larger, not so large that I can place screens there to veg directly in it, but enough that I may let the plants grow bigger

Now my doubt is this, should I veg the cuts only a few weeks even if I have more space to not mess up the scrog, or I can manage, with toppings and LST to veg for a long time and still be able to fit after that time the plants on the screens?

You should veg until plants are about 1/3 screen space so that when you put them into flower they should mostly if not completely fill the screen. Topping and lst will help maintain height before putting under the screen

Hey Gamberone I run SCROGS and you should have no problem fitting all the plants under the screen as long as you don't let it get too messy. In general I wouldn't let it fill out more than 90% before I flip to flower but that would be pushing it. I personally like to wait until it is 80-85% full but that is just because I like a thick SCROG. I don't think I would agree with SquirrellyWrath on flipping at 1/3 full screen you would end up with a thin canopy and less yields. It all depends on what kind of yields you are trying to achieve and how much time you have to veg them, but if you have the time then why not get the most yields you can with said space an light. Longer Veg = Bigger Yields ( better use of light spread ),

If you want a true scrog then veg into the net from the time they are big enough to grow into it. If you grow them and them try to train them in it will be a pain in the arse.
If space is an issue then you could do a modular scrog so each plant can be moved from veg room to flower room. You can get pre made nets for such needs.
